It consists of 5 active terminals, 4 active runways, 1,200 daily flights. My wife and I came into JFK from LAX on a direct redeye flight, landing into terminal 4. The five active terminals are 1, 4, 5, 7, 8. Terminal 1 is being replaced (initial phase open in 2026, completion in 2030) by a New Terminal One (NTO). Terminal 6 is being also being built, replacing 6 and 7. Terminal 7 is still open, but will later be demolished to be replaced at a later time. With 2 major terminals being built, the airport is in a constant state of construction, a lot of which can be seen as you take the Air Train from one terminal to another. My perception of the airport is that it covers a lot of area, but was surprised it's not even close in terms of land size: (DEN [largest] at 33,351 acres, ORD at 7,627 acres, JFK at 5,200, LAX at only 3,500). Where it dose rank highest is around international flights, leading all US airports with 71,000 annual international takeoffs (42% of all takeoffs). In comparison, the two busiest US airports (ATL and ORD), have 41,000 and 54,000, respectively. Note: It is specifically stated that JFK resides in the borough of Queens. The city of New York consists of 5 boroughs, each also being considered a county (with the same exact boundaries as each other). This was the only example I could find where two or more counties exists entirely within the limits of one city (usually it's the other way around). There are many examples (San Francisco, Philadelphia, Denver) where the city and county share the same name and boundaries. Virginia is the other state (besides NY) where the term borough is used to further subdivide a city. Other large cities use different terms (LA: neighborhoods/districts; Chicago: neighborhoods/wards).

Why when I travel, I try to leave out of Lehigh Valley International Airport. I've flown out of here a few times, and even though I've had some frustrating delays due to weather or crew issues, I still enjoy flying out of Lehigh Valley International Airport. Since it's not a huge airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport only has a few airlines, so unless you're specifically looking for a certain airline, you might want to consider Mama Joe City Terminal instead. However, they do offer flights with some major airlines, like Delta and American Airlines, as of the time of this review. There aren't many gates which is good, as I appreciate the straightforward approach to getting to your gate. I often fly with American Airlines, so it's a good choice because I use it to connect to buses (yes, they have buses too) to flights to major airports. One nice thing about taking the bus from the airport is that you don't have to go through security again at the connecting airport. There aren't as many food options as you might find at other airports, but there are enough if you need food or a drink. They also have other amenities for travelers with specific needs. If you're bringing your dog, they have a pet relief area. If you have kids, they can go to the play area and burn off some extra energy from sitting on or barding the flight. If you're a nervous flyer, there's a sensory room to help you calm down and focus before your flight. I also like the different book nooks around the airport where you can take or leave a book for free. Unless I'm fly at the right time, I don't seem to wait around long. I usually give myself about 2 hours to get to my gate, but I've sometimes arrived at the gate five minutes after I get arrived at the airport. I've have however almost missed my connecting flight because of weather or crew and gate issues flying out of here. One time, my return flight had to wait 30-35 minutes on the runway, because the only open gate had a plane disembarking, and we had to wait for them to move the plane and dock. There were other gates open, but not enough staff was working and was frustrating to wait. I generally enjoy flying out of this airport. It's not a huge hub, and delays can sometimes eat into your time for connecting flights, but it's usually a good and dependable option for getting to your destination.

It is not free parking, they charge $10 and can go in/out, do not throw out the paper they gave you. The food prices in the festival is super pricey so I suggest leaving and get food outside the festival. Make sure to get the wristband to re-enter the festival. A virgin Piña colada costs $25!! I am disappointed that they dont have an actual person to pick up phone and they didnt post on site that the morning launch were not going to happen. We got there at 9am and then left a few hours later, came back 6:30pm for the last launch of the day. There is so many people and leaving was the parking lot was a chaos.

There were over a hundred vendors on site giving out freebies, samples, and games for a change to win bigger prizes. It is a nice marketing event for all the companies. The hot air balloon in the skies portion was the anchor of the event but be mindful, that it is subject to change based on weather conditions. Unfortunately, it was gusty this past Saturday and the hot air balloons did not get to fly up in the air. However, they blew up the balloons to let everyone see what balloons they have - Red Angry Bird, 35th Birthday Cake, Pepsi, Wonder Bread, and etc. I appreciate the effort! This past weekend had a beautiful sunset in the field so it was photo worthy for any picture-taking lovers out there! Overall, a nice family outing event. I would not mind coming back next year and hopefully, they will be in the air. For anyone interested, purchase the tickets in advance through Groupon beforehand for a deal, if available.
