This is a small regional airport. Don't arrive too early as it seems TSA closes in between flights. We arrived at the airport and our flight was delayed last minute. We were advised TSA would reopen 2 hours prior to boarding, so you can't go ahead and check in and wait in the terminal. Instead you have to wait in the small cramped lobby area where there's only limited seating for the disabled. Once able to go through TSA it's quite easy to navigate as they only have 2 terminals. I flew out on Frontier airlines, where again it's a smaller airport so you have to board the plane outside. The waiting areas filled up pretty quickly. There's a bar and concession area. We bought Dr Pepper's which were flat and after inspection discovered they were expired. The guy that worked there apologized and swapped them out for some that expired the same day as our flight and were just as flat. read more

DO NOT FLY Frontier if you want to enjoy your vacation . They are the worst ! Went to leave Tampa 6:00 am to come home delayed then at 7:00 am canceled . Frontier did not offer any help , but just to say you have to schedule a flight tomorrow, are you crazy . There were a lot of seniors there asking how do we home , again no help . So we did the next best thing paid three times the amount to get home .Now Frontier offered $100 dollars where can you fly or stay in a hotel for $100 dollars . Brie took her first plane trip all the way down south to Georgia to visit friends and their pups! It was our first time coordinating a big trip with Brie and we learned a lot and had so much fun! We flew Frontier Airlines out of Trenton Mercer Airport and had a great experience. The airport is very small and easy to get around. Frontier flies from this hub to many big cities across the U.S. at discounted prices. Pet dogs are only allowed to fly in-cabin and in a travel container under the seat. A health certificate from your veterinarian is a good idea, if required by the state you are traveling to. Brie was fantastic on the plane and slept the whole way. There was even another family with a couple of chihuahuas on-board. We arrived to the airport early to get Brie acclimated to the new environment and airport noises. There is a waiting area with a TV and also a Sky Lounge Restaurant for a meal and full-bar. Due to the small nature of the airport, the restaurant only opens 2-hours before the departing flight. For your pup, it is recommended that pets do not eat or drink within 4-hours of departure. Boarding and exiting is outdoors with a ramp. On-site daily parking is cheap and you can also be dropped off. We thank The Traveling Terries for suggesting Mr. Peanut's Pet Carriers as an airline-approved traveling carrier. Not only do they make high-quality and cruelty-free carriers, they also donate to animal rescues and shelters! We purchased the Katziela Lorry model with removable wheels and a telescopic handle. Brie is 10 pounds with long legs and it fit her perfectly with room to spare. We love the zippered and ventilated compartments where she can peak her head out as we strolled through the airport. There are many options to choose from and a very friendly customer service staff if you have any questions (shout out to Michael)! Mr. Peanut is named after Michael's Boston Terrier. read more

I have been at princton Medicine Hospital with medical issues trying to go home and I feel that this airport treated me like a criminal. I went through security and they patted me down. UPDATE: I swear I literally forget how annoying this airport is until I find a cheap flight with Frontier and decide to brave the dreaded "kiddie city" that is the Trenton Mercer Airport. If you are not a huge fan of kids, do not use this airport. Do yourself a favor and just fly out of PHL. Yes this airport is convenient, and Frontier is adding some cool destinations out of this location, but I'm honestly not sure if it's worth it. No one is watching their children, everyone's child is screaming, and none of the kids that are supposed to be wearing masks are wearing masks, just wiping their drippy noses all over everything. I'm sorry, I think kids are cool, but we're still in the middle of a pandemic; have your children wear their masks properly or don't fly with them. It's that simple. We're all about to get on a small, very enclosed flight together, it's for everyone's safety so we can get back to some normalcy amidst all of this chaos. Still no Starbucks (didn't think their would be) and you're not allowed to take any of your alcoholic drinks out of the tiny 6 square ft box that is the "bar area." Bar tenders were all wearing their masks under their nose like we haven't been dealing with this crap for a little under two years now. Wear your masks properly. This isn't new. GOSH why does this airport have to be so conveniently located, and have such good flight deals?! I'm so conflicted on even including it in my airport auto-search anymore because I always leave so dang frustrated-- and that's never a reflection on Frontier. Possibly the quietest commercial airport in the US. I have used this airport when East-West Airlines was around, no longer so. Enter Frontier Airlines, a no-frills company operating here at TTN for the last couple of years. The main building is the same, small everything. Sky Lounge upstairs. Parking is simple and ample. $2 an hr. $8 a day. A cell phone parking lot if you're picking up. No frills. read more

People told me this airport was small but I think small is an understatement! What it lacks in size it makes up for in ease! What a pleasure it is to park right across from the terminal and walk in. No shuttles or monorails necessary. There is, however, an NJ Transit bus that goes to Trenton Transit Center, which has connections to SEPTA, Amtrak, and NJ Transit trains and buses. The airport itself is tiny, with only two gates, a crowded security area, and a baggage claim inside a trailer. The main downside is that there is one cafe beyond security, offering limited food options. There's a restaurant that overlooks the runway but it is outside of the secure area. This is a situation where you'd probably want to bring your own food. read more

One of the smaller airports which I enjoy coming to this airport because its a smaller airport that doesn't typically get super crowded like Newark. The staff was nice, helpful and moved you along in a timely manner. The TSA were all very nice no issues. overall a good experience flying out of this airport. I enjoy flying through this airport because it is tiny. There are only two gates. Security and everything is super easy, short and smooth. Everyone is typically very friendly. This is a small convenience store and bar in the waiting area (downstairs). Prices are high, but comparable with other airport locations. Apparently there is a restaurant on the upper floor (upstairs from the main level where the check in/entrance) is along with a lounge where you can watch TV, although I was unaware until today. I've flown into and mostly out of this airport a multitude of times over the last 2-3 years. Parking is also a breeze. Security abs payment is self-explanatory. There are some interesting statues and art pieces at the exterior entrance. I will absolutely use this airport again in the future. read more

If you live within a 30 minute radius of Trenton Mercer and still fly from Philadelphia or Newark, you're really missing out! We usually fly to Florida a few times a year and for the longest time we took Jetblue out of Philly (and gladly paid a premium price) for the friendly service, on time flights, Wi-Fi and spacious seats. Lately though, we felt as if Jetblue slipped a notch, so we started to check out alternatives. That's how we came across Trenton Mercer. We were glad to see Frontier flew to the destinations we wanted and a few days back we had our first flight out. I have to say, the airport is absolutely sensational. It's super small, so everything is accomplished quicker than in a large airport. Check in, security, walk to the gate, all accomplished in under 15 minutes. So much faster usual, what a pleasure. We also get to save an hour each way in travel time to/from the airport and the big Uber fee that goes along with it. Obviously this will vary depending on where you live. For us it's huge. Yes, there are some downsides. There's minimal food and drink options, they don't use jetways (so you have to walk across the tarmac to the plane, something which would absolutely suck in bad weather) and the baggage pick up spot is also outdoors (!), but the overall time savings and convenience makes it worth it for us. In the end, I was really happy with Trenton Mercer Airport. Can't wait to fly out of here again. read more

I flew into Trenton-Mercer Airport (then Mercer County Airport) on my first solo cross-country flight when I was earning my pilot's license five decades ago. When I lived in Lawrenceville and the Yardley, I loved the convenience of catching a commercial flight here. The single terminal building today is essentially the same one I remember from two to four decades ago -- four gates, car rental agency, restaurant upstairs. This caused me to rush and is certainly unfair to people who try to plan their departures. Not a happy camper as I almost missed my flight. Positive note. The airport is small and the check in process was very quick. Very convenient and no traffic in the arrival or departure lanes. I would of given a 1 Star if I missed my flight but it was more Frontier Airlines then the actual airport. In and out of tsa security in less than five minutes. With only two gates my flight was super easy to find. This airport absolutely takes the stress out of flying. There are two lounges open to the public. You can actually view the runway strip from both sides. There's one in the secure are and one outside. Very small airport compared to Newark, but easy to access and cheap flights. The entire process from car, to check-in, to security and finally the gate takes less than 30 minutes. Plenty of seating available at the gate and TVs to help time go by as you wait for the flight. It can get a bit chaotic once it's time to board the plane as passengers rush to create their own line(s). However this time goes by fairly quickly as you walk from inside the airport onto the tarmac and finally on the plane. On a sunny day this makes for great photo opportunities as well for anyone who's interested. The luggage pick-up area however is very small and can get crowded with everyone rushing off the plane and waiting for their bags. Additionally there is no indoor waiting area after you picked up your luggage. Otherwise, a good airport for anyone on a budget. read more

This isn't an airport... This is a bus terminal that confused airplanes happen to pull up to. Obviously you can't have too high expectations for this airport. It's a small 2 gate county airport that only has one airline at the passenger terminal. It's as no-frills as you can get. (they do have free Wi-Fi though). The only reason you would use this airport is if you had a really good deal on Frontier airlines flight or because you live close by. There are no jet ways so you have to go outside to get onto the plane. The baggage claim is a double wide trailer. You cannot make this up. I can't imagine what this looked like prior to the renovations. Once you leave the trailer with your luggage you proceed up a poorly lit sidewalk to the parking lot. No bathrooms, not even a porta potty. This makes the airports in many Third World countries look like luxury. read more

I have yet to fly out of this airport, but I have arrived here a few times in the past 2 months. Luckily, all the days I've arrived have all been sunny and hot so I've had no issues with the departure process (walking outside to the "terminal"). Cheap, easy, and gets the jobs done! The little trailer/building that the terminal is in though is super tiny and when 100 people get off the plane, it kinda sucks because you have to find your way around everyone just to get to the exit doors. My best way to travel Frontier is stuffing everything you own in a personal item - life is soooo easy. Tip: roll your clothes tightly instead of folding them. A carry on is simple too but why pay $30+ for a bag unless you really really have to? Only issue I have with this airport is that it only flies out to certain cities a few times a week. Wish they would add another terminal so this wouldn't be an issue. But, I have an upcoming flight where I'll be flying out of TTN, so lets see how that goes! read more

What is there to say about Trenton airport. It's small, let me repeat, it's small. One building, two floors and only 2 gates. The parking lot is literally across the street, like a 3 minute walk at most, if you park far away. Parking is cheap, $8 all day. There are no jetways, just air stairs to the aircraft. There is a little bar/grill which offers a limited selection of food, but surprisingly they offer a veggie burger which is decent. I live in Princeton and travel about an hour to Newark Airport or Philadelphia airport. Trenton Airport is only 15 minutes away and the parking is only $8.00 a day. There are two security lines that are slow during peak times, but they ensure if anyone is about to miss their flight, they will expedite you. The airport is clean, small and perfect because large airports take time. Flying to this airport cuts your time spent traveling and allows you to do what you want on your own terms. Ok so I can't blame the airport as much for my gripe as I am the airline, but overall TTN needs a good facelift. I've been stuck here for the better part of my Saturday due to a delayed flight and there's nothing to do! I'm in the middle of nowhere NJ and it'd be nice if some amenities were offered to pass the time. The WiFi is shot and doesn't work, and the food situation is leaving much to be desired - there's a Sky Lounge with bar fare and a random outpost in the waiting lounge, and that's all! Outside is just a parking lot and grasslands. Disappointing. Also, I had to go through security twice - why?!! I went through security the first time before finding out about my flight being delayed and instead of allowing everyone to stay in the waiting lounge, they closed TSA and we were all forced to exit the space and told to return once TSA reopens - what is that? This whole place is rather dated and could definitely benefit from a few enhancements. It is a good option outside of PHL for cheap flights since budget airlines fly out of here (Frontier and Allegiant), but seeing that I've had to shoot the breeze while waiting out my delay, more options to pass the time would be nice. I do appreciate the cheap parking though - $8/24 hours. This airport is great and I prefer it over Newark or Phili. Yes it is small, cramped, uncomfortable and primitive. However, it is so easy and convenient! And the flights from Frontier are so cheap. $52 round trip from Jersey to Florida is hard to top. The terminal itself is no frills! They have a small bar, cramped restrooms and the seats are metal without any padding. The TSA process was extremely thorough (which is a good thing) but very friendly as well. Parking is easy and located on site. There is a big lot with ample spaces. It is $8/day and you pay on the way out. Note- There are no covered gates in the terminal. I'm from Philadelphia so this is a great option when you can't find a flight out of the Philly airport as it is closer than you think! The flights are normally via frontier which just means you have to be smart about how you are traveling. This means everything has a fee so try and see if you can bring just a back pack. I am not sure if the airport has wifi, so more clear directions about that would have been helpful. There is a cute store that sells some food and drinks. You walk right outside and on to the plane which is kind of fun. read more

What's nice about this airport is if you see an airplane on the runway, chances are good it's the one you are taking. Also you don't have to wait to take off because of it being backed up. In that regard it's pretty quick. As far as getting through the airport quickly was another matter. Since it being my first trip out of here and don't know if it is normal, I thought the loading process was just as onerous as any large airport. You had to wait and wait to get past TSA maybe even longer than at Newark Liberty. The fact that we went during the government shutdown and federal employees hadn't been paid in a while might have led to their surliness as well as the slow moving lines. Also it is a lot easier getting here than Philly or EWR so I would give it another try. read more

Pros: -Only $10 per day to park. -The parking lot is literally right next to the main (and only) terminal. -No waiting on the runway once you board because you're probably the only plane departing or landing. Cons: -No food, but there is a bar. -TSA is clueless here. They put everyone through both the pre check lane and regular lane but then bounce you around before you go through the scanner if you don't have a orange card designating you as pre check. -You should still arrive early even though there are only 2 gates, because, as mentioned in the previous con, TSA is clueless here. Also, there are only two bag drop kiosks. -The airlines that fly into and out of here suck and will most likely cancel on you, perhaps only after you've already arrived at the airport. -I've heard baggage claim is a joke, but didn't get to experience it, because as noted in the previous con, my flight got cancelled and I had to fly home into a different airport. read more

I always feel my chances of dying in an airplane-related accident go up when I fly out of tiny little regional airports on a discount airline that may or may not keep it's aging fleet up to good maintenance standards. You know, like a Buddy Holly-killing flight. Luckily, I almost never encounter that scenario. Today, however, was different. A last minute business opportunity required me to be in Ann Arbor, Michigan early on a Monday morning, and the only reasonable flight I could find just so happened to be a Sunday afternoon direct flight from TMA to Detroit on Frontier Airlines. (Thanks, Kayak.com!) Frontier Airlines? This is not the airline that makes people stand, is it? Or is it perhaps the one where passengers have pedals under their seats to keep the plane in the air? Oh, never mind. World domination cannot be bothered to worry about such things. I just rolled the dice, booked the flight, and off I went. If you're reading this, well then, good news - I lived. The airport is... uh, interesting. The first pro was pulling up to a parking spot that was literally just a few steps away from the Airport Terminal entrance. For $8 a day, that close to the door, I don't need to deal with the hassle of a sedan service. But things quickly began to devolve once I got inside. This is an airport that seemingly attracts complete and utter airplane travel n00bs. I have never encountered so many stupid people trying to figure out an airport. And when the bag drop off line extended to the front door and did not move for 15 straight minutes, I decided to investigate. I get up to the front of the line and discover a family - no, a generation - of complete morons. In fact, we'll call them the Moron family. Apparently, the Moron family not only has no clue how to fly, but they think they're super-entitled, and that the rules don't apply to them. The patriarch of the family, a textbook douchebag, is arguing that he shouldn't have to pay extra for one of his 50+ pound bags. His Stepford wife is arguing about something completely different - that her bag meets the carry on size requirements. Such an idiot this woman is that she shuffles back and forth to the metal "is your bag bigger than this" measurement stand and proceeds to try and jam it in, all the while yelling back to the counter person that it fits. (It didn't.) I'm sorry if this is mean, folks, but someone should just come out and shoot these people - every one of them. We have enough stupid people on this planet. But stupid AND entitled should be an immediate cause for on-the-spot execution. (Ok, breathe, CK.) Then, like Moses parting the Red Sea, the woman running the counter unexpectedly yells out, "Is there a Christophe 'Kindley' waiting in line?" (Both butchering my last name, and reminding me how old these computer systems are that they can never capture the "r" at the end of my first name.) I wave my hand desperately toward the voice, which replies, "come bring your bag up here, I have your tag." I then cut through the entire line, hand my bag over, and am on my way; the Moron family still arguing nearby, and the minions of other mini-Morons that didn't pay for their bag check ahead of me still waiting to wait some more. Suckers. After that, everything was a breeze. Security check took less than five minutes. And there's a bar on the other side. Cheap drinks, too. And for some reason I felt like I should have a few extra drinks before boarding my flight because, after all, this is Frontier Airlines. You will be sorely disappointed. If you do like cheap and easy, then this is your place! T-M Airport is as no frills as you will find. The no-frills equate to no restaurants, no Starbucks, no Bose stores. We're talking vending machines and a slightly-overpriced bar/refrigerator that might seat 6. Men's room accommodates three at a time. Luggage pick up is a shed that can hold 20 with no conveyor belt, but a door in a wall where luggage is launched onto a shiny metal slanted platform. And to boot, you walk out on the runway and climb a ramp to the airplane...which means you can load both the front and back doors of the airplane at the same time! It's as no-frills as you can get, and I love it. Parking is located right in front of the airport, and costs $8 per day...same as Philly...and a shuttle runs, should walking 100 yards not be your thing. You'd be a fool to overlook T-M if Frontier Airlines serves your destination....and, say, your destination is Orlando, and you have 3 kids in tow. It's relaxed, it's easy, and it's cheap.
