Waiting on a long line, but then another line opened up.

Jury duty yay! Personally, I've been on three juries within the past 20 years. I expected to be chosen today once again, However, the turnout was great, and the majority were not needed of potential jurors for the day. The line was very long outside as you could see by the pictures, then finally somebody came out and said if you're a juror, there is a much faster line on the left side. And we efficiently and quickly went through that metal detector. Brought a book to keep myself occupied, ....and then Happily found someone who also wants to play a game of chess while waiting!

Large-scale Richard Neutra building, a prominent Modernist Architect who has many small and large works in Southern California. Architecture review only and not for the services or Justice Center inhabiting the building now. The scale is unbelievable and I found myself craning my neck repeatedly just trying to take it all in, I came on a Saturday when the building was closed and I was the only person walking around. A forward-thinking and prominent feature are the solar-blocking louvres that are moveable to shield the worst of the cali sun and provide a cooler inside climate by creating shade and having the louvres instead of the walls absorb heat. They line the buildings in the most minimal way possible and I appreciate the simplicity. Another interesting detail are the walls all have some sort of texture or pattern on them, unique for Neutra. It's depressing now honestly. At the front entrance are two rocks stuck into the ground, a reflection pool use to be here and there used to be water-filled fountains and pools that gave the building some life and soothing sounds. They've been drained and dismantled for a very long time now just leaving brutal concrete and cold lines.

My Tesla car got keyed when I parked on the 4th floor on Thursday 10/19/2023 juror parking lot on 1020 civic center drive, so I am giving a 1 star due to this experience. There were 2 cars that were keyed that day. The court team were great. It's just I felt security in parking structure was lacking. I am very disappointed since I fulfilled my duty as a juror and this happened.

My first time entering and as you know they have security and parking is like a 5 min walk next to the stadium. The assembly area was massive and the jury duty service workers were all very friendly!

Ask the Community - Central Justice Center

Are the courts finally open need to go with a family member for moral support?

    Yes

Is Stadium Parking just for jurors or can anyone park there?

Anyone can park there. Visitors to the jail also park there as well as visitors for Santa Ana Police department and the stadium. It is a pay lot that jurors can get validated for.

    Can I bring my DS?

If you mean your Nintendo DS: yes. Bring headphones/earbuds to not disturb other jurors in the waiting area. And of course, put it away if/when you get called into the courtroom.

    What's the wifi password?

It changes everyday, you have to check the posters around the waiting area for the code.

One of the biggest advantages was how easy the appointment process was. Having a scheduled time made everything feel smooth and efficient. The clerk who assisted us was friendly, helpful, and made the experience feel welcoming rather than transactional. The setting itself was a pleasant surprise--the scenery created an atmosphere that felt much more elevated than expected and made the moment feel like a much larger wedding. It also provided a great backdrop for photos, which was important to us. All of the necessary information was clearly outlined on the website ahead of time, which made planning straightforward and stress-free. And from a value standpoint, it's hard to beat--it truly felt like a $20,000 wedding experience for just $89. Everything was organized well, which helped the day run seamlessly. There were a couple of minor drawbacks. It can get crowded, especially with multiple parties scheduled around similar times. While the website notes a maximum of 20 guests, it's possible to have more if you're outside--but that can make the space feel tight and limit photo opportunities. Overall, it's a beautiful, efficient, and cost-effective option that still delivers a memorable experience. A great choice for couples looking for something intimate without sacrificing the feeling of a special occasion.

He has a rare ability to clearly explain standard procedures so that members of the public can understand what to expect, all while remaining fully within the limits of his official role. In a place where the process can often feel intimidating, Mr. Brent communicates with patience and clarity, ensuring that everyone feels heard and respected. His demeanor reflects the highest standards of public service - courteous, knowledgeable, and professional at every step. Every courthouse would benefit from having someone like Mr. Brent. He demonstrates that it is possible to uphold the rules and responsibilities of the court while also making the experience approachable and understandable for the public. To Supervising Judge Palafox - Mr. Brent's service is exemplary and deserving of recognition. His commitment to professionalism and his respectful approach make him an outstanding asset to Lamoreaux.

My experience with this courthouse has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The justice…read moresystem here feels completely disorganized, and it seems that many employees are not properly informed about the procedures or the paperwork they are responsible for assisting people with. I was repeatedly sent back and forth between the Self-Help Center and the seventh floor. I would go to one department, be told to go somewhere else, receive little or no useful information, and then be sent back to where I started. On top of that, I was given conflicting information about the paperwork I needed to file and how it needed to be served. To make matters worse, some employees give you nasty looks and treat you as if you are stupid for asking questions or being confused. How are people supposed to know what to do when the employees themselves are providing inconsistent information? At one point, an employee removed a single document from my filing packet, handed it back to me, and told me that I needed to serve that document separately to the other party. This was extremely confusing because the document was supposed to be included with the packet being filed. Situations like this create unnecessary delays and force people to repeatedly go back and forth just to get basic instructions. What is even more concerning is that I am not the only person experiencing this. Almost everyone I have spoken with inside the courthouse has expressed the same frustrations: nothing gets done, everything is delayed, and people are receiving misinformation. When multiple people are independently describing the same experience, that should be taken seriously. This is unacceptable for a government institution that is supposed to provide access to justice. People come to the courthouse because they are already dealing with stressful and often extremely serious legal matters. They should not have to spend hours being sent from floor to floor, receiving contradictory instructions, being treated disrespectfully, or worrying that their case will be delayed because they were given incorrect information. The courthouse needs better training, communication, accountability, and a system that actually helps people navigate the legal process. People deserve accurate information, respectful treatment, and timely processing--especially when their families, finances, safety, and futures may depend on it. To make matters worse than what they already are they DO NOT WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE ! Why put a phone number if you people will not answer the phone or simply do YOUR JOB!
