Prepare to be there for a couple hrs for an appointment! I saw doctor Peter Ocampo, he was great. The office staff on the other hand thought they were TERRIBLE. I was not greated kindly, then I waited there for 30 min before I went back up to check in with them and see what's going on. She said they were really backed up and I will be up soon. Then 45 min mark hit and I was done. I went up again and spoke up becuase I was missing work and wanted to know what's going on. they could not give me an answer and was wait or reschedule. My appointment was at 2:30 and I did not even get into a room untill 3:15 ish. I left around 4:00. my provider had no clue why I was not taken sooner, there is awful customer service and communication. I recommend Dr. Ocampo, but I would not recommend all the other staff. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Orthopedic services being in my future because of arthritis, I just stopped in, mid dayish on a sunny late summer day as I recall, to check the place out being in the Fielders' Choice neighborhood - actually put a provider name with a face, observe staff & the degree of office/practice busyness/activity, pick up some brochures to review on my own time. Few brochures in stock, the place was dead, & only 1 staff at the desk, thus NO excuse for such a sour puss in look or attitude. I noticed that most of the providers represented on the wall with photo were NOT physicians, but Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. I left, tossed the brochures in the trash, made a call to Orthopedic Associates of Maine, Portland. Now, there's a practice with a stellar reputation and the service, staff, caring, and welcome to back it up as I can readily state, having had 2 more recent appointments: Meet/Greet &Consult (10/2025,) followed by Walk-in Orthopedic Clinic - emergency/condition change appointment (12/19/2025) due to excruciating pain, serious mobility issue. I was given a Cortisone injection to settle the knee down, physical therapy planned 1st, to confirm symptoms with an MRI that would be paid for by Insurance - that's the game - it's backwards. I went home from there, very comfortable, and received a call from the office to set up physical therapy. Anyhow, with the new year upon us I will most likely be forced to deal with CMO, not OA of Maine, because OA of Maine will be considered "out of network" by my new Insurance, thus cost me much more out of pocket. I may just need to eat the cost for superior care and service when this is not my preference. read more

I've had bad experiences with the old guard of doctors. They are no longer there, like Timoney, Brown.. male PA's... you all know the ones. The place was so dysfunctional it needed to burn down (figuratively) and start over. What a refreshing experience I had this time without that cloud of darkness, negativity and unprofessionalism that hung over that practice. This time, I had the 5 star treatment from beginning to end. All the Staff was in a good mood. No rushing my hobbled leg. Terrific experience with the PA who did the Symvisc injection properly without discomfort and she did an exam and put my leg through all the motions and did some teaching! Wow. I was so thrilled she did an exam because all the doctors I had before would just look at the imaging, diagnose, glance at me once, send me out the door for PT/OT the usual useless stuff. I'm sure the history (not taken) and physical (not done) was clicked off by the MA and her keyboard-mouse, then the Doctor signed without reading it, and it was off to Insurance for payment for all the things the Almighty Doctor never did. Happens all the time folks and that is FRAUD. We patients who pay dearly for health insurance should STOP, be ALERT and watching these opportunistic doctors who get rich by upcoding in the chart while we are left wanting. I hope things have changed now that the bad actors are gone. One can only hope. read more

I can hear the MA's talking negatively about myself and other pts while waiting for them to steer the doc into my room. My appointment was at 10:30am however at exactly 11;30am I heard my dr ask which room is next and she did not enter my room. The receptionists were unwelcoming by exchanging laughs when I greeted them. It made me feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place unless there were no other options. My family and I have come here for most of our lives when it comes to taking care of those aches and pains related to the bones. I have seen at least 2-3 of their doctors and the majority are professional, they have a few who have no filter and just tell you how it is. I can respect that in some sense because I hear honesty and transparency, but for those looking for compassion and empathy, choose your doctor wisely. As far as skill for those non-professionals, I hear they are some of the best in the state, so you have to weigh what is more important to you: compassionate doctor or get the job done by one of the best. Their Ortho Clinic is very convenient as it can take some time to get to see a doctor on as needed basis. The wait once checked in is somewhat average, but not over the top given the number of doctors they have. I would recommend CMO to anyone who is looking for quality care locally and does not want to travel to Portland to see someone in orthopedics. read more

They make you believe you will have an appointment for surgery, not clearly communicate what it will be for by the surgeon Dr.Zimmerman or the scheduling staff. I call today to get instructions for tomorrow and I had 3 very unpleasant phone calls with the staff where they were very rude and would just adamantly disagree with anything you're saying. I was prepared to go in for a surgery and take two weeks off of work. I planned someone to take time off from work for this as well. And then on the phone I get "we wouldn't schedule someone that far in advance" when I had a conversation with the surgeon in July that he wanted it out in six months and thats what I had assumed I scheduled my appointment for. The front desk staff at the time let me believe this would be possible. But now not the case??? Your office needs a change of who works on the phones and to work on communicating with each other and your patients. This is so unfair to me that your office is terrible with being clear and communication. Also would love to add the dismisses me from PT but didn't call to tell me - they sent me a letter months later after I had tried calling multiple times to get scheduled again. Oh and I'll also add in that my follow up after surgery was terrible because a blonder older woman working there had NO empathy. Today when I called regarding this one of their surgery schedulers literally said "oh my god" when I kept repeating my concern and then when I say she is terrible at customer service her tone switches to very pleasant and she says "thank you very much" bear in mind this is after calling me back from hanging up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I saw Dr Brown today for my ankle I know I don't have any broken bones but it hurts when I walk or put pressure ect I waited over an hour and a half and as he looked at it to see if it was broken no brake he rushed I couldn't even tell him what was wrong he rushed me out as the appointment was only 6 minutes I went here for previous breaks and Dr bush was amazing I wish he was still there read more

Dr Matthew Bush has treated me for multiple steroid injections and two carpal tunnel surgeries. I have RA and OA with many deteriorated and painful joints. His skill and compassion are excellent. He is always friendly and compassionate. I am a disabled nurse with a long history of chronic pain and I know an incredible physician when I see one and Dr. Bush is the real deal. read more

I have had 3 shoulder surgeries 2 of them were while in the military my last one was here. Dr falin was my surgeon. He did an amazing job. I am still healing from the surgery but the process is far easier and less painful then my last two. He explained everything in detail made sure I wanted the surgery and didn't feel any pressure to get it. All the staff has been extremely kind and professional. Dr. Timony is a surgeon with Central Maine Orthopedics and I wouldn't recommend this man to operate on my worst enemy! Before I met him, I was able to walk but uncomfortable. However, due to his supposed excellent surgical skills, he was able to talk me into additional surgery which I now know was extensive foot surgery on an outpatient basis! He practices surgery in an assembly line-style. He told me to walk on my foot before the bones had even healed! Because of him and his enlarged ego, no hammer toe but I have an actual hole in top of my foot, deformity in all toes, and limp and will required corrective surgery. Please do not recommend anyone to this horrible surgeon. Wish I could give a negative star comment. read more

Please be careful if you are using this place. The doctors and the administration lied to talk me into surgery, assured me it would all be covered by my health care, then sent me a $2,840 bill. When I questioned them on this, they ignored me and turned it over to a collection agency (Thomas Agency in Portland, ME) without even a simple letter. I took my Mom for a consult. The wait was not long, however the assistant that screened my Mom prior to the Dr. Coming in was cold and uncaring. My Mom explained that we has been in constant pain for the last couple of months.... Begging for help. She told her about how she has fallen 12 times at home from her knee giving out from under her. My Mom proceeded to show her a huge dark bruise on her shoulder and the only comment that the assistant had was "well... You can show it to me, but i really dont need to see it." The surgeon discounted my Moms previous diagnosis of 2 bulging discs in her back and sent her home. read more
