Convenient, affordable, and great service! We found this place last minute when we decided to…read moresnowshoe. I took a chance and called the number on Christmas Day, and they were working. The person on the phone was very accommodating and patient. We let them know when we were planning on arriving, and they said they would make sure the store was open. Snowshoe rentals were only $15 each, and they included poles, goggles, and a balaclava. I believe the snow pants and snow boots were also only $15 each. The teal pants were SO cute. The person in the store was also very patient and helpful. There was a cute little hot cocoa station that included marshmallows, tea, Vitamin C, and apple cider packets. The only things missing were candy canes! But they made up for it with sweet treats (sugar cookies, fudge, and more). While we were there, we realized that we forgot our hand warmers. The person overheard us and gave us some for free!! What makes this place so convenient was that it was 6 minutes from our AirBnb in Sunriver AND they have a return box outside of the store if we get there after hours! I was also pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to return the rentals under the next morning at 9:00. Will definitely come back for more rental needs!

He is a highly skilled yet personable and patient guide that will make your fishing experience one to remember. Our trip involved taking my 14 yo son out in his first fly fishing outing and he managed not only to keep this 24x7 video gamer interested but excited and enthusiastic about our day-long outing. He also somehow managed to spend several minutes to show me some new casting techniques while quickly moving back and forth dealing with snags, tangles and the many fish unhooking and picture duties. Our trip was along the Crooked River, a local hot spot which hosts both native rainbow trout and whitefish. They must do something special to these fish who fight like ones many times their actual size. These entertaining fish are plentiful but smart, so knowing the proper flies and techniques will save you many hours of trial and error here. This is a truly special area that is both spectacularly beautiful and highly productive for the skilled fly fisherman. I've been in several guided outings but few have rivaled the completely satsifying trip we did with Rivers Bend. If you plan to fly fish in the Bend area, you will regret not spending your day with Rivers Bend.

Super friendly, easy-going and especially helpful with our two young boys (age 4 and 9). We caught 10 fish in just under 4 hours on the lake. Mostly Kokonee salmon and a couple of Trout. Took 'em home and cooked them up that night! The 4-5 hour trip for all of us cost about $350 and required two $16 fishing licenses as well...but the experience was well worth the cost for our first-time ever fishing trip.

Interestingly, our friends had tried to sign up the next morning but were told that "they'd see what they could do" because apparently Outriders only runs a limited number of 4x4's per trip. But, we found out later that day that they'd added one vehicle to the run and we were all good to go. Launch point was about a 15 minute drive from our friends in S. Bend. Just a turnoff on a forest trail off of the road, we spotted our guide and vehicles and got situated. Helmets were fitted, and we were given a clean set of instructions from Jason, our guide. And off we went. We'd signed up for the two-hour run and honestly, about 15 minutes in, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it. It was a bit of a ride, even given the soft suspension of the 4x4's. However, it's hard to deny the beauty of the surroundings and the smiles on our faces. We got up to the top of a bluff whose same I don't recall - Sugar Bluff, maybe? - and stopped for a bit. Jason gave us a status check and a bit of history and geography info. He's very informative, and easy to talk to, very willing to answer questions. From there we headed through the forest to our next stop, some lava fields. Again, a bit of history, very informational about the age of the rocks, and some interesting facts about plant growth in relating to the lava rocks age. All in all, this was a heck of a ride. Up and down, bouncing all around, noisy, only a bit of dust (we were lucky that day so be forewarned if you do this during a dry spell). There are other options available, we're seriously considering one of them for our next trip to Bend. Don't forget to tip your guide!

The stunning Central Oregon crisp sunrise was picture perfect, as we trusted pilot Darren and…read morechaser Garrett from Big Sky Balloon Company take our godson on a "bucket list" moment 2,000 feet over Terrebonne and Crooked River with unparalleled views of the Cascade Mountains that became snow capped over the past couple of days. We marveled at a new viewpoint of Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, the three Sisters (Charity, Hope and Faith), Mt. Washington, Black Butte, Three Fingered Jack, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Hood... we even saw Mt. Adams in Washington state. All white with new snow. Even the view on the imposing Smith Rock from the high vantage point was spectacular. Garrett asked me to help inflate the 180,000 cubic foot balloon, and having this hands-on experience was kinda cool. This flying (or floating) in a hot air balloon experience was epic!!! But what made this 5-star, was the crew. Darren and Garrett were so welcoming, knowledgeable, and really made this memorable based on how they treated their passengers. Darren answered all the crazy questions in flight, with a genuine smile and rich answers. Garrett's hugest asset is his personality, humor, and enthusiasm. He had us cracking-up with laughter from start to finish. If you want a balloon flight, I am sure there are multiple options.
