So we booked a trip, last minute, originally the Lava Run. The night before, we got a call from Mike, wanting to know if we minded a free upgrade, to the Mountain Vista tour. Hmm I thought, sure. It was an hour longer than our original tour. We me our guide, Alex, in front of the Sun River Lodge, and off we went, to the trail head. Alex was friendly, talkative and very knowledgeable about the area. He got us all geared up and off we went. Beautiful day for the tour. When we got to the ridge view point, however, forest fire smoke limited our view. Nothing Alex could do about that. Next he guided use to a small campground along small creek. We walked s short way, to the falls, for a beautiful view. It was sunny, warm, and very dusty. I haven't gotten so dirty, in a long while. It was a great day. I highly recommend Outrider Northwest for a great off road tour.

We had a group of six and a dog. We had a fun adventurous tour. Awesome scenic views. Just enough adrenaline to have fun! We will be back again to experience the different adventures Outfitters NW offers!

Mike was accommodating for our last minute request. Payment and waiver process very easy and user friendly. A short video is shown upon submitting your waiver online. Chase was our guide--very thorough with instructions and personable. It was so worth it!! We enjoyed every minute of the 2.5 hours in beautiful Bend! Mahalo! We hope to return!

    Ready!

Went out today on a guided tour over the lava and through the woods to a waterfall and a vista where we could see Mt Adams in WA. The quad Polaris appeared brand new, was spotless clean and ran like a beast. Guide Dan knew the answers to every question. There were areas where you could fly and areas that were more technical but never to extreme. We had a blast! Its on the permanent list of annual rituals.

What an amazing time we had as a family yesterday afternoon through the evening riding UTVs through the gorgeous Oregon wilderness just outside of Bend. It was a lot of fun and highly recommend it.

Up to the first snow of the season! So awesome!

The sleds were loaded into a five-place enclosed trailer and ready to go when we arrived at the shop. Michael the owner gave us a thorough run down of the trail systems (I've ridden in Minnesota a lot, but first time in Oregon), a walk through of the sleds, and other general tips. They also had a complete lineup of decent rental equipment, although renting isn't ever has good as having your own gear that you're used to. All of the sleds were quality Ski-Doo long tracks. We had two 850's that rocked the trails and the powder, two 600's for the less experienced riders, and one 900 two-up. Unloading and loading was easy, and it was a short 25 minute drive to the snow park. Great rental experience - would definitely rent again from Central Oregon Rentals. Thoughts about the Deschutes trail system around Mt. Bachelor: 1. We rode on what had to have been one of the busiest days of the year - bad planning on our part. By the time we got to the Wanoga sno-park the parking lot was full, but it really wasn't full: they could have fit at least 1/3 more rigs if folks would learn how to park. There was literally 10' between some rigs. We ended up parking along one of the roadways inside the snow park which worked. If you could beat the mountain traffic and make it higher up it would be better. See #2 below. 2. The trails leading up to the Mt. Bachelor - especially Trail 5 - were AWFUL. So many riders chewing it up, even though they were groomed the night before. They were even worse coming back down. If you like going 10 mph max on washboards you'll love them. Once we got past the mountain, Trail 5 was better, but not great. 3. The 250 miles of the Mt. Bachelor trail system is beautiful, but TBH after riding Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the UP, the trail system around Mt. Bachelor isn't the place to go for hard core riding. We rode all day and maybe got 40 miles - in the upper Midwest we'd get at least 100 miles on a low day. This is partly due to the number of people and the trail conditions, but there just aren't the same miles of trails if you really like to ride. 4. The stop at the Elk Lake resort was great. Definitely worth they trip out there. Would we ride the Deschutes Trail System again? -Yes, and we would definitely rent from Central Oregon Rentals. -Yes, but on a weekday or during the shoulder season. Definitely NOT on a holiday weekend. -Yes, but explore starting at a different location.

So we got one of the double trailers the night before. The next day, a light rain was falling which we knew meant snow to up at Wanoga. As we were driving our way up, my trailer started swinging back and forth like it was going to flip. I slowly pulled over and found that the lynch pin that held the trailer tilt down was missing. No idea how that could be gone. I walked along the freeway a bit to see if it had recently fallen out but nothing. Plus it was snowing and traffic was zipping past so I opted to go back to my vehicle. Not the pain in the ass I was looking for. We called and it took an hour for them to get back to us. By then, I had fixed it using a gear tie I had in my truck to latch it down. I also did a ratchet strap set up to try and hold it down and after assistance with one of Oregon State Police's finest, we were on our way. The sleds were amazing. I preferred the Polaris Assault over the Pro's. My buddy compared them to one being a bad ass Goldwing (the Assault) and the other a bad ass crotch rocket. But seriously, they were both super fun to ride and the location great. On the way back, about 3 blocks from dropping things off, my gear tie snapped and obviously the ratchet wasn't enough as the back of the trailer tipped and I was dragging metal on the street. I got it fixed and back again. The sad part was there were no apologies just something about the "prior customer must not have secured it". We also ended up leaving with the keys for the sleds. About 5m's from where we were staying we got a phone call asking about them so we turned around. Why my gf didn't leave them in the sled I don't know but we had to turn around to drop them off. Anyway, this brings me back to my first sentence. A simple checklist for the company and the customer before leaving with the sleds and after dropping them off would be helpful to all involved. Would I use them again? More then likely since I now know more about what is going on but I definitely would shop around first.

They start on time, so don't mess around and miss the bus (though not sure they'd leave anyone, it's a friendly place). Mikie communicated expectations well from the jump and got us to and from safely. Trevor was a great raft guide, clearly loves what he does, and as far as I could tell, does it well. Would row for him again for sure. Rode a raft with a family my partner and I didn't know, it was a good time all around. Will probably hit up another tour next summer for fun, was worth it. Tips? Kinda? You could easily hit this and another outing in one day. Set your timing right and you could ride and then raft, this is certainly a good time but it doesn't take long door to door. If you care about pics sit in the front. If you're worried about rowing, don't sit on the right for big eddy (the guide will likely seat folks for safety and row power anyhow). Not sure I need to say this but I will, there isn't a dry seat on the raft. The road to the spot is bumpy, sit toward the front if that bothers you. If your kids not taller than an oar, they likely won't get one. There are two spots you'll be offered to jump in.

Well organized prep and pickup in Sunriver, in the main village behind the Sunriver Country Store. Our guide, Lanny was lovely and kept us safe while also ensuring our group ranging from ages 7-50 had a great time. Only real feedback has to do with the to/from transportation and driver sales pitch. School bus to the put in added a lot of extra time to the overall trip which made the short time on the river feel even shorter. And while Roberto our driver was lovely, the sales pitch for other trips that Sun Country offers prior to heading back to the main office felt very sales-y and drawn out. These guys can't help how the river and rapids are set up but they could be more efficient with time overall. My kids definitely had a blast and have been bitten by the whitewater rafting bug. Definitely one of the best highlights of our trip to Bend, Oregon over the weekend…read more Shay (maybe spelled Che) was A fantastic tour guide! Very knowledgeable, whimsical, lighthearted, and free spirited. The perfect person to lead an adventure into the Oregon wilderness. Our trip started with a short van ride from the Fred Meyer parking lot. She shared lots of knowledge about various trees in the area, wildlife, things the local government was doing to help clean up some of the territory we're gonna be going to explore the cave. She seemed like somebody who genuinely enjoys her job, likes to explore, and is just a genuine, good person all around. Going into the cave was surreal, almost like stepping into a different climate. It definitely felt like it was 45° all year round down there. Once we lost the natural lighting too it became very spooky, but everybody had headlamps so it was pretty easy to see where we were going. My wife and I saw a few baby brown bats hanging out on the walls while we were there. They were so tiny and cute! I'm glad they're able to survive down there. I really like that her tour guy gave us a choice between one of two directions into the cave. I have really bad knees, and thankfully, our tour guide, and our group was able to respect that. We had a very good lighthearted adventure down in the dark. My favorite part was when we all got to turn off our headlamps for a little bit, and stay silent, and just enjoy utter blackness. Deathly felt like a good way to de-stress a little. Shay was a fantastic tour guide and we are definitely going to be using this to our group again in the near future. Thanks for the memories!

The…read moretour was poorly organized, communication was limited, and I had concerns about the attention to guest safety. There was very little information provided in advance about the length of the tour, what to expect, or transportation to and from the site. Several guests brought chairs that were not traditional camping chairs, and there was not enough room in the van to accommodate them. As a result, the chairs were placed underneath other guests' feet, leaving very limited foot room in an already cramped space for a long drive. After arriving at Fort Rock, we took a short nature walk around the area at sunset. Since we would be returning after dark, I would have expected the guides to advise guests to bring flashlights or headlamps. No such recommendation was made, and the walk back was difficult to navigate in the dark, which raised concerns about safety. The lack of preparation was also evident when the guides used rock-paper-scissors to determine who would lead the hike. While this may have been intended to be lighthearted, it contributed to the overall impression that the tour had not been well planned. There was one clear bright spot: Brian was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, and he was the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, despite Brian's efforts, the overall lack of communication, organization, and attention to safety made this a tour I would not recommend.
