This is an old 1900s converted church still has a lot of the old relics bar has the stained glass and the lantern fixtures hanging from the ceilings beautiful. another charming thing was the beer garden in the courtyard. Also really amazing selection of crafts, sours wines, trendy cocktails it was a fun spot. I would absolutely make a point of stopping in here. I happen to order one of their signature burgers which came with a Kuri ketchup selection very good french fries a little salty. I enjoyed the pretzel bun, but the salt level does need to come back soon in this part of the country. I sat in the bar area and the bartender was exceptionally good. I've been coming to this place for years, almost every time I come home to Louisville and have a spare morning to grab breakfast. It's a B&B that looks like a quaint little house, and the inside is so comforting and warm feeling. Food is absolutely delicious, I don't know the chefs but they need a raise asap. I always get the biscuits & gravy (heavenly), bacon, and eggs; when you visit, thats what you have to order. (Bonus Tip if you have to wait: Drive over the Fat Rabbit and go thrifting! My boyfriend splurged and found vintage band tees, collared button down shirts with the tags still on for a bargain, they also have stickers, jewelry, pins and books etc. also walking distance to more shops to browse or window shop located only a couple minutes up the street!) To order, you walk up and order with someone who will send it right to your table/seat. There are outdoor options available as well! The wait was definitely worth what I got at the Gralehaus. Had it not been for my boyfriend, I would never have stepped foot in this place as I simply didn't know about it. I've unknowingly passed it several times but now I'll be back. I found my latte to be lacking in sweetness but I'm sure I could have just asked for sweetener. Easier to add than to take away. Was in Louisville for the weekend and had Gralehaus bookmarked so decided to check it out. There was already a lineup when I got there which was a few minutes before it opened. It was busy inside but the decor was cute and cozy. They also had outdoor seating but it was a bit chilly for outside. Staff was really nice and friendly. I had to wait a bit for the food to come out and it was a good portion size for the price. It tasted fresh. I had leftovers too. Mostly indoor tables, but a few outside and also bar seating. Breakfast sandwich was good and "the best coffee cake" was good, but really had a lot of sugar piled up on it. Tried a "beermosa". Oh my gosh ... it did not disappoint! We have been meaning to come here forever but our schedules wouldn't allow but so glad we finally can mark this show stopper off our list! I went off other reviews on tik tok & got the breakfast biscuit... probably the best breakfast sandwich i have EVER had. The sauce they put on it is to die for & my husband's omelette was gorgeous. Cant wait to come back in the warmer months & maybe sit outside in the adorable courtyard area! The only issue was parking... we got a ticket in the time it took us to walk across the lot to the restaurant, where you check in/validate your parking. It seemed petty, like they must have been standing there watching us walk away from our car, but we successfully disputed it & will try to park on the street when we go again. The perfect amount of sweet where you can still taste the flavor of the beans. I visited Gralehaus for brunch with a party of 4. We had to wait around 45 minutes and then were sat at the coldest and most uncomfortable place. There was an open vent that was allowing cold air from outside in. It felt like I was sitting on ice. My husband and I shared the frittata and the bowl. The frittata was so greasy that I couldn't even eat it. The bowl was very good. I don't think I would return. I really wanted to like this place but I just didn't. read more

We got there fairly early Sunday morning, a little before 10, and there was already a 30-40 minute wait which I was afraid of. If you've never been, It's a smaller place, and even the bar seats are included in the wait time, so there is no open seating. We were given the option to sit at a back table that faced the wall, it's essentially a bar top affixed to the wall with 4 stools, so we agreed to sit there, we didn't mind. We browsed the menu and once you're ready to order you have to walk up to the front counter and place your order, which is nice in the sense that you can move at your own pace. This is also where you can validate your parking* We both got the Gralehaus Cheeseburger, which is a double smash burger with american cheese, pickles, onions and haus sauce for $16 which doesn't come with a side nor do they have any type of potatoes (I asked), but honestly, for us anyways the burger was plenty. We also both ordered drinks and then sat back down. I essentially got their version of an espresso martini and my husband just got a draft beer. The martini was okay, but honestly it was nothing to brag about in my opinion. The burger was good, I wouldn't say $16 good, but it came out piping hot, and was the perfect definition of a smash burger. I just think the burger patty could have been seasoned more, and wish it had a side for the price - but again that's just my opinion. *Note there is a parking lot that is next to the building that is Paid Public Parking, however if you are visiting the restaurant they will validate the parking for 2 hours. Very hipster place but tasty. Some friends, my husband, and I are visiting from Detroit this weekend, the friends had been here before. They recommended getting there before 10am on a Saturday, so we showed up around 915am, but it was still a 20-min wait for outside seating. Outside, you order at a counter of sorts and then they bring you your food. I had a slight issue in that I needed the bathroom, and they only had one... I waited for about ten minutes since it was in use, then asked waitstaff if they had more (and they did, at Holy Grale next door, their sister restaurant), then had to wait longer there too. Not their fault but frustrating since I have Crohn's. As for the food, my husband got the s'mores French toast which was delicious, with lots of big marshmallows. I got the burrata toast, with apple butter, which was tasty too, on milk bread. We split an order of their smoked bacon too. I'd come back here but would probably get something else to eat, our friends each got their biscuits and gravy and liked it. We got some of the best breakfast food I've had here. Louisville is knocking it out of the park. I had the delicious Trois Chocolate Latte and the breakfast sandwich. When my first choice (the Croque) wasn't available, the staff kindly helped me pick out something similar. I believe it is a Bed & Breakfast, so it was busy even on a Monday. Has a great cozy feel. The biscuit was soft with a nice crust on the outside. The service was attentive. You order at the counter and servers bring the food to the table. All seating is first come, first serve.
