She then asked me "what have you been doing for the last year?! Where have you worked?" With a tone and expression that conveyed utter disgust, as though I were responsible for getting this (non sexually transmitted) disease. I even heard the desk people talking about my insurance (obamacare) quite loudly, this time, with disdain that I could not afford better medical care. The doctor told me to contact the department of health and that my condition was not her responsibility. That's fine, it's not within her role to apply advanced medical knowledge. But she said it like she considered me a garbage bag for someone else to pick up. The doctors name was Audrey something.
