I was present and have experience with this trainer. He is knowledgeable, professional, patient, and exceptionally good at what he does. Unleashed Unlimited has also earned its excellent reputation. What I witnessed that day bears little resemblance to the dramatic indictment posted here by another reviewer. The irony is remarkable. This reviewer condemns everyone else's ability to handle dogs while describing his own dog as a "hunter" who spends nights "shredding and pulling apart frogs or small field mice," "loves to rip apart small prey," and would apparently be catching rabbits too if they weren't "too quick for her." That is not the flex he thinks it is. Prey drive is not snake awareness. Celebrating a dog's unchecked pursuit and destruction of small animals does not establish canine expertise. If anything, it illustrates exactly why learning avoidance around a venomous animal matters and why dog training is so important. Meanwhile, the dogs I personally observed were hardly the impeccably trained animals his criticism would suggest. Basic handling was challenging. Leash cooperation was void. Following direction was challenging. Yet somehow every difficulty became evidence of someone else's incompetence. Everyone else was the problem. The trainer. The handlers. The method. Never the owner. My greater concern is Yelp allowing a lengthy, inflammatory review to remain while it contains graphic, almost approving descriptions of a pet killing wildlife and uses one owner's personal interpretation of a training session to attack the competence of people running a legitimate business that was signed up for and optional. Disliking a service is fair. But volume and insults do not magically turn one person's interpretation into expertise. Unleashed Unlimited deserves better. The snake trainer deserves better. And after witnessing the situation myself, I have absolutely no hesitation recommending both. Sometimes a review tells you considerably more about the reviewer than the business being reviewed. I am extremely disappointed with our experience…read more Our dog is a very anxious dog, but she has never shown aggression toward people or other animals in our care. After boarding her this time (we've been customers there for years), we were told she displayed behaviors such as growling and was no longer welcome to return. What I find most concerning is that this facility also promotes dog training services, yet there was no effort to discuss what may have triggered her behavior, offer recommendations, suggest training options, or work with us on a plan for future success. Instead, we were simply told not to bring her back. I fully understand that any boarding facility has the right to make decisions based on safety concerns. However, anxious and fearful behaviors are not uncommon in boarding environments, and I expected a business that offers training services to have a more knowledgeable and supportive approach. As pet owners, we trust boarding facilities to care for our dogs during what can already be a stressful experience. Rather than feeling supported, we left feeling judged and dismissed. If your dog struggles with anxiety or fear in unfamiliar situations, I would encourage you to ask detailed questions about how those behaviors are assessed and managed before booking. We'll gladly be taking our business elsewhere and won't be back with our current dog or any future dogs.

First of all, before even meeting or corresponding with Christie, the website gives a plethora of information. She details out the training methodology as well as options for training - board and train, group classes, etc. She also outlines her beliefs on training and dog ownership so there is no doubt what to expect when you arrive, but don't jump in the car just yet. There's an application process to sign up for training. Once you've completed your applications, additional information will be provided around what's expected of you as part of the training and it is very detailed as well. Right after our first lesson, I had a clear understanding of the first lesson, clear instructions on my homework, and expectations were set. I opted not for the board and train program but the group lessons. There were two other first-timers there and Christie was able to give all of us and our dogs the attention needed to make the session worthwhile. I look forward to our weekly Saturday morning training classes and already notice a difference walking with my Sadie. Whether you choose to board and train or attend group classes, you cannot go wrong here. Training your dog is part of responsible pet ownership and setting the groundwork early is one of the best decisions I've made, but there are plenty of older dogs in training too so if you have an older dog that lacks the behaviors you want, I can't recommend Christie ENOUGH. Just take a look at the videos on her website to see the effects of proper training in action.

After I decided (and stated) that her services would be unnecessary she continued to email & explain how my pet and I no longer qualified for any of her programs. If you would like to be spoken to in an unprofessional manner and berated with emails after calling it out, this is the place for you. And after reading her response to this review on Google, where she states information about my application out of context, is another example of her character. It was too long to read completely, but I am so grateful I went to someone else who met with me, explaining my dog's nervous behavior, not aggressive, and was a professional. My terrible interaction with this "professional" led me to a real one.

On 8/9/2020 our puppy went for the 1st time in his 3 short months of life to puppy socialization classes at the S. Lamar location (12 noon slot, as he's 17 pounds). We were so excited for him, taking his first step into puppy training/dog training which we're big supporters of. Both of our other dogs have had training including getting their AKC Good Citizen Certificate, but we lived in a different state at the time, hence our quest for a new trainer in Austin. Well, we were so disappointed with the quality of the experience we had to share this with others. We returned to pick him up about 10 min early and, like many others there, we looked through the glass at the puppies playing. What we observed were two very frustrated employees dealing with out of control puppies. The pups were given no guidance, they were knocking plastic dividers down (one fell on our pups head), and given treat after treat with no command- just stuffing them in their mouths. The "class" is finally over and we go in to speak with the employe and the conversation was shocking- She first said our dog cried at the door for 20 minutes "his separation anxiety needs to put under control". Well, we realize he's scared to be left alone. He was rescued at 5 weeks from a bad situation, we're all working from home and he see's us all day and the fact that we took him there indicates we realize there's a problem we'd like to help not get criticized about. Secondly, and this was the part that really, deeply saddened me. She said "he seems to have a short fuse, you know how his breed is". He's a pit bull, we have 2 others. No, we don't know "how his breed is", we don't make breed generalizations, we know it's the owner not the dog and I'm shocked a 'dog trainer' would say something like that. All with a look of 'I hate my job, hurry up and leave. so I can get on with my day' look on her face. Needless to say, it was a tough first experience for our puppy and even tougher for us to sit through when someone is making ignorant remarks about a dog's breed because of frustration or dissatisfaction in her job.

I had to go out of town for a work trip pretty last minute, and she was able to watch Woody for a few days while I was gone.
