I originally found Old Town Veterinary Hospital during one of the hardest moments imaginable, when we needed help saying goodbye to our 16-year-old dog. Even though we had never been clients before, they fit us in quickly so our dog would not continue to suffer. The kindness and compassion they showed us during that experience meant so much to our family, and because of that, I transferred our pets there as regular clients. I had wonderful experiences with Dr. Mundal and always felt our pets received thoughtful, attentive care from her. Unfortunately, after she left the practice, my experience changed significantly. One of the vet tech experiences left a very bad impression on me due to impatience and poor communication. I specifically requested not to work with that tech again. Beyond that, appointments often felt unprepared. Rather than reviewing my pet's chart beforehand, I was repeatedly asked for information that was already documented in the file, including medication lists and prior treatments. It became frustrating to feel like I was constantly re-explaining established medical history. I also repeatedly received reminders for vaccines and services that had already been completed months earlier. After this happened multiple times, it began to create concern about organization, oversight, and confidence in the accuracy of my pets' records. It was disappointing because our initial experience with Old Town was so positive and compassionate. Ultimately, due to the ongoing communication and organizational concerns, I decided to move my pets' care elsewhere. read more

My dog has chronic ear infections. I previously went to Georgetown Veterinary Hospital and was charged over $350 and my dog's ear infection never got better. I asked them if I could come back and they wanted to charge me more money. This time I too him to Old Town Vet Hospital. Emily [technician] was so extremely nice and helpful. She told me about home ear flushes I can do with Jerry. Emily was also very thorough explaining to the doctor what was wrong. While I was there I found a tick on my dogs ear. Dr. Harding was able to remove the tick and gave me instructions of odd signs to look for if my dog was affected. Dr. Harding told me about allergies my dog may have that might be contributing to his ear infections that I had no idea of. She gave me several different options for allergy treatment. She also gave me ear drops and prednisone to help with Jerry severe ear infection. Dr. Harding spent a lot of time going over treatments to prevent these chronic ear infections. She also gave me options that were more cost effective. Savanna came in at the end and gave me the medications and checked us out. None of these steps and treatment were given to me at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital and was charged a lot more with no resolution for Jerry. I absolutely felt heard and that my dog was taken well care of by Old Town Vet Hospital. I truly believe the staff wanted to get to the root of the issue so these ear infections do not keep happening. I would rate the staff and Dr. Harding 5 stars. read more

We used OTV for a couple of years and there is one good vet on staff, but other than that one good vet this place has gone downhill very fast. Today was one of the worst experiences we've had and we will not be back. My dog does not respond to sedatives , which the clinic knew, and despite their front desk telling us he was getting anesthesia, and never sending us a proposal prior to his appt for X-rays, they decided to administer sedatives. The problem was not their administration of the initial drug, it was upon our dog not responding to treatment they did not communicate a thing, but continued to give more drugs. Typically I have had vets communicate when treatments are not working, nothing was told to us. Hours into the day, I was curious why we had not heard a thing so I decided to call and see how our dog was doing- it was only then they told us about the ordeal. At this point reception told us they had not been able to get xray or nail clipping done, I was shocked then somehow during that phone call everything got done. When I picked my baby up he would not even look at me. They had cut so close to his quicks he had blood on several of his nails. I can only imagine what went on in that room And it's a nightmare to me. Edit we dropped him Off at 730, never told us they were short staffed and then I called around 12 no answer and again at 1 ish. read more

I had a 10 AM appointment with my cat. We are arrived early. They did call us back at 10 AM. We sat in a very cold room for 35 minutes. No one checked on us. No one said we're just running late, nothing. A tech came in at 10:35 got some information realized the scale didn't have any batteries in. It said I'll be right back. Never saw her again. At 10:55 AM I got my cat who was still in the carrier walked to the front and said we are leaving. And she said well we are busy today. I said someone could have walked in and said something. But we didn't get that kind of consideration. Well, do you want me to make another appointment, I said what to say it won't happen again? So I said I would call them. But I won't. There is no excuse for making a cat sit in a carrier and a woman sit in a cold, waiting room for over an hour with no explanations no check-in nothing. I have gone to them for four years. Used to like this place until they charged me for a "tech fee" for a booster shot for my dog. First vet I've ever been to where they throw in extra charges like having a vet give the shot to the dog and I've been to quite a few. Usually places have the cost of the shot included with the vet taking two seconds to give my dog a shot... not to mention they also don't encourage neutering/spaying because they quoted me $600+ last year for my puppy to get neutered. Safe to say I went somewhere else to get him neutered.... It's too bad because the veterinarians are nice but the business seems like they are scamming you. read more

The clinic is nice, and the people are perfectly nice. My issue is they charge far too much for the services they provide. Just today, I called to inquire how much it would be to spay a female cat. I couldn't believe it when they told me it would be almost $850. That is utterly ridiculous. I have taken my dog here when she had a UTI and I walked away feeling like I had been ripped off. I paid nearly $400 for what is a very simple illness. Then I made the mistake of coming in for a follow up and was charged over $200. I love this bet clinic and all the staff associated. They have provided excellent care for both my dog and my cat. I won't go anywhere else.

Before this week I would have given a pretty good review but I'm unable to now and will not be returning to this clinic. I believe this clinic KNOWINGLY LIED to me. We took our cat in for urine crystals back in the summer of 2022. They removed a urine sample and examined it. I asked if they checked the pH value because I wanted to know (as I had researched potential natural solutions that I could try but I needed to know the pH as the solutions differed based on the pH). They told me they DIDN'T CHECK the pH and questioned me as to why I wanted to know and then proceeded to tell me that the best solution for our suffering cat was to follow their recommendation for the prescription diets which they sell. Our cat has since totally refused all of the prescription diets we tried. When I asked about natural remedies they basically said there was nothing better than the prescription diets that are formulated by scientists. They were not open to even discussing natural solutions. This week I went to another clinic for the same recurring issue and the new clinic requested the records from the summer visit at Old Town Vet and the pH was listed right there in the visit notes. So either they falsified the records or they lied to me. Neither is ethical. The new clinic gave me many options for stopping the crystals and many of them were herbal, whole food based, and common sense solutions. read more

I took my 4 yr old granddaughter to observe the wellness check up for our labradoodle and WOW- Ms Anna, Al and the Dr were so kind, professional and even gave my granddaughter a tour of the vet hospital. Can not say enough good things about our visit. In a state of emergency, I had called five pet hospitals, and no one was taking 'new patients.' Upon arrival Old Town was outside waiting with a doggy stretcher. Within minutes a diagnoses was made and a care plan set up. I not once felt judged, nor were any comments made about the state of my buddy. He came to us in bad shape as a rescue and have not found a vet we liked, until now. Shameful. I booked an appt as a new client with Katlyn P. When I arrived she stated she forgot to put my appointment in the calendar and they could not see me. I took off time from work, not to mention the added unhappiness of my cats for an unnecessary car ride. Mistakes happen but they should have found a way to see me since the error was theirs. I previously would have given 5 stars but my recent experience has me extremely disappointed. My previous appointment I was supposed to leave with ear drops and veggie treats for my dog. The following day I remembered that I was supposed to get veggie treats but did not so I pulled out my receipt and found that I was charged over $30 for them. I called thinking maybe they were given to me and I left them. I received a text stating that nothing was left. I then asked them to text me a picture of the package I would have received so that I could determine if I ever did receive them, but no text ever came. I was there the other day and told them that I never received them but was basically called a liar when they said they were on the receipt so nothing they can do. I went back into CVS when I noticed they didn't charge me for a $10 item but to be accused of trying to steal which is basically what they are doing. I would have given them a good review previously, but I have to say I'm very disappointed with the way they handled my appointment this morning. I called them at 7:45 am and left a message to schedule appointment for my dog who has been in their care since 10/28/21 she has congestive heart failure. I called this morning because she had a terrible week breathing and her legs have been failing to support her. at 8:20 am they gave me an appointment for 9:30 am. I went ahead and took it and changed my work schedule and other appointments around, and got us in the car as fast as we could . We arrived at 9:41 and was told I had to return at 2:30 pm for a drop off emergency which would cost more. I said this was an emergency because of her condition and I needed a bit of compassion from them, she checked with the doctor and returned to tell me they could not accommodate my pet in distress!! I could understand if this was a routine check up but she really needed to be seen!! I will NEVER return there to a place that should be willing to help an ailing pet! Not worth the money ive spent there! wouldn' recommend them to anyone. read more
