The entire staff is very helpful and Dr. Sager is a very professional and competent dentist who does an absolutely wonderful job. When I needed some urgent care they got me in within 24 hours. No other dentist I ever had (and I am 64) got me in that quickly. We all know that tooth pain is no day in the park so getting the condition treated ASAP meant very much to me. read more

I feel I receive the best care from the providers and staff, from the front office to the back in this practice. My main dentist is Dr. Cooney (who is amazing). I feel comfortable and confident that whatever procedure I am having done will be done correctly and with my comfort always in mind. I've never had to return to have anything adjusted, and they do not suggest expensive procedures to be done that are unnecessary in order to make more money. Terrible experience. I have a dentist I like a lot but he isn't on our ins/dental care can be expensive, esp bc I grind my teeth in my sleep, breaking fillings that have to be repaired, can't use a mouth guard (gag). Scheduled new pt appt w CTDC bc as much as I love my current dentist who is patient & kind, I have to pay out of pocket & it gets costly bc he isn't on our ins. So I scheduled with CTDC thinking it was time for me to be courageous & help our finances by finding a dentist on our ins. Had a minor issue, popcorn husk stuck in tooth making an ulcer, I thought, this will be a less scary issue/opportunity for me to get established w a new dentist who is ON our insurance, get comfortable w them before I end up w another broken filling & need something more invasive which makes a new pt appt scarier. Explained when scheduling about gag reflex/anxiety, that numbing helps, she said that was fine, she was making note. I didn't request a certain dentist, randomly assigned Dr Cooper. I was excited that my finances were going to be freed up for things I love like my fur babies bc my insurance would be paying at this clinic even though I love my other dentist, but I always need to feel new places out due to anxiety. I was taken back to a rm by Cooper's hygienist. She spent 3-4 min w me, I said I had gag reflex & dental anxiety & X-rays come out blurry. She left, came back, said Cooper wasn't going to see me bc he can't work w/o X-rays, that I need to call Dr Cutbirth (isn't on our ins) w an entirely different practice across town bc Dr Cutbirth specializes in dental anxiety. I told her I was willing to try X-rays, she said "No bc I don't want to make your dental anxiety worse." I insisted we try, she came over to me reluctantly & SHOVED film ROUGHLY into my mouth, INTENTIONALLY triggering me to gag. I looked at her desperately, said, "my mouth doesn't open wide enough this way," pointing to indicate vertically. She ROLLED her eyes. I insisted we try again, we did but I gagged. The roof of my mouth isn't high enough to accommodate film. I told her, "I don't understand what part of the film I'm supposed to be biting down on & which side of my teeth does what part of the film go on." She rolled her eyes, said, "just bite down on it." We tried a 3rd X, still gagging. Throughout the process I was engaging in deep breathing in through my nose/out through my mouth, not at her coaching which she did not offer, but as I've been taught elsewhere, but it wasn't helping & I was refused numbing. She said after the 3rd X, "you need to leave, there's nothing we can do here." I spoke with office manager as I was leaving, I would say the office manager had her "nice" personality turned on but in retrospect, she asked me weird questions like "what did the rest of us do to you?" as if she was preparing a defense & she said, as if she was doing me a HUGE favor, "I'll see what I can do, but I'll have to talk to all the other dentists," as if I had some something bad & she was going to plead for me bc she was such a good person. I was in pain- a popcorn husk can cause a lot of pain even though it's minor - I was really frustrated bc I had tried floss & water pick, literally everything at home, I laid awake in pain that night & just thought about how disrespectfully I had been treated bc I have rosacea, heterochromia, frizzy hair, & I'm just not an attractive person who people want to interact with at first sight, plus although I'm 5'3 120 lbs, I am often mistaken for a man even though I'm a biological female since birth. So I think maybe I was judged aesthetically, & maybe there were assumptions made about my biological gender, gender identity, & consequential discrimination. After several calls to the clinic in which I wasn't given a reason as to why I was refused care, Dr Cooper came to the phone. He was extremely gruff. He said "Hi there Brandy." I had to ask who I was speaking w TWICE before he said Dr Cooper. He said he doesn't deal w gag reflex or anxiety. I said his website/FB says he deals w anxiety/gag reflex, he said he would have that taken down but it's still up. He GROWLED at me "I understand from my assistant that you expected me to work w/o X-rays," and I said I was willing to do X-rays but they come out blurry. He asked why I can't go back to my other dentist. I said I can but he's not on my ins, Dr Cooper was EXTREMELY dismissive of the ins/budget issue, said if my other dentist is willing to work w anxiety/gag, "I'm not going to do that for you, he is offering you a premium service & he is worth whatever he is charging you." I said I agree but my budget doesn't always. It was stated as if he would work w anyone else on those issues but not me, it was personal, ended the call that he had pt's to see & didn't have time for me. CTDC is a horrible place staffed by hateful people. Worst dental experience ever. To be clear: I NEVER EVEN MET DR COOPER in person. H literally refused to come to my room. read more

I liked Dr. Cooper. He didn't feel like a car salesman trying to up charge a ton of dental work and was rather a minimalist in his recommendation which I appreciated. Smooth filling repair and Greta job smoothing it out so it wouldn't bother me or change my bite. Ashley was my hygienist. I found her to be aggressive on my gumline as though she was trying to razor a new gum line. I will plan to try a different hygienist. I did request one that was gentle yet thorough. She definitely was not gentle and will need to gargle with salt water throughout the rest the day because I'm in pain. I've always been told at multiple dentist offices that receding gums are something to avoid. When I googled the effects of having a rough hygienist it said that this could cause your gums to recede. So I'm not sure why her focus was more on the soft tissue of gumline than the tooth itself. My gums shouldn't be this sore and painful. read more

I recently moved here to Waco and needed a dentist. I looked here in Yelp and decided on Dr Cooper. Well, I'm so glad I did ! I had my 1st appointment yesterday. I was greeted by the receptionist nicely . I looked around the office which was clean, and welcoming. There was a little refrigerator filled with bottles of water and that was a welcoming sign ! The young lady which was Dr Cooper's assistant, Bethany escorted me into the exray area was very polite and also very friendly . I started feeling very comfortable . As we were going I went into the exam room I noticed every where was very clean . We did the required paperwork and then I meet with Dr Cooper. He is very nice and he explained everything he wanted to do and we did a plan of action for my teeth. Which was very much what I expected and what my teeth required. After I was going to leave and the assistant said we may be able to also get you into a cleaning if you have time. That turned out perfectly! I was able to get my teeth cleaned !! My teeth were past due for cleaning! I was able to set another appointment for the next cleaning before the cleaning which saved me time!!Very efficient !! Now I'm also scheduled for another procedure. This is a very efficiently ran office with knowledge and great assistance! They have impressed me greatly!! I would definitely recommend this dentistry!! Went to get my teeth cleaned and X-ray done. During the X-ray they added extra ones. They did not tell me they are not covered or even they were different. So it's a shock when we expect to not get a bill and one shows up. It's like a bait and switch here are X-rays but we will ad more and you'll find out when you get our bill. Not a group I would recommend. Received a call the said to pay it. If they are this shady with a cleaning what else are they over charging the customers for. read more

Dr. Williams was my dentist for years and has since retired. Occasionally one of the other dentists would take care of me when Dr. Williams was out. Now Dr. Cooney is my "go to" dentist, but I am completely comfortable with every provider I have encountered over the years at Central Texas Dental Care. They put my husbands tongue to sleep for over three months, my filling came out and they billed us for a looking at my sons teeth after they said there would be no charge for it. They told us that they would take care of the billing and that there was nothing to worry about. Several months later I have a letter from collections!!!! read more

I had a tooth pain that had gotten worse over the weekend. I called around 8 am and was in the chair by 8:45. They found I'd cracked a molar. They had had a couple of cancellations and were able to extract the tooth and do a bone graft to prepare for an implant later immediately. I was out the door before 10 am. I was completely numb throughout the extraction and felt no pain. It's still not very painful. The cost no matter where you go is high particularly for bone graft. I highly recommend central Texas dental. read more

I had to have some dental work done since March. The dentist I usually go to of course could not see me due to COVID, so I just lived with it for months only to find out in order to see a dentist from that office they moved 50 miles away. So, I just couldn't wait any longer. I asked Siri on my phone for dentist in Hewitt. First on the list was Central Texas Dental care. I called them.. Rachel on the phone was so sweet. They couldn't see me for about a week, but knew I needed someone sooner. She got me worked in first thing on Friday morning (I called Wednesday right before they were about to close) went to my appointment, did have to do a COVID screen from my car that took all of about 2-3 minutes. They came to my car took me inside directly to a dental room. I expect ed to have to wait for a good while, the dental assistant (so very nice I'm sorry cannot remember names) got me ready & within 3 minutes Dr.Sager came in. I usually fear dentists due to a bad experience, but Dr. Sager was so nice, put me at ease, explained what was going on with my mouth, & within 15-20 min had the problem fixed. Such relief. Later that day, again almost before they were closing I thought I was have a problem & I called. They said come on now & we look at it. They saw me upon arrival, & Dr. Sager fixed it immediately. I will be using Dr. Sager & his excellent staff from now on as my primary Dentist. Great, great experience & excellent care. I will be recommending Central Texas Dental Care to everyone I know. Please call them if you need dental work, you will be very pleased, especially if you feared dentists as much as I did! read more

These are the highest priced dentists in the area. They advertise a friendly staff but that has not been my experience. I tried to have an open mind but on 3 different occasions the assistants have been very rude. Customer service is not a high priority for this office so I won't be going back. read more
