I am an attorney with a wife who is terminal. In August, 2019, I went into see Dr Kennedy with a tooth that needed to be extracted and I was in severe pain. I told the young lady up front that I would pay them the next morning. She was good with that. We have good insurance and we've always left a credit. He came in and asked me how the family was and we chatted. He said that he an office full of patients and it would be a little bit. I told him I was good and if he needed the room to let me know. He discussed how my mouth needed some major work and might be expensive, but they might have some discounts.
In any event, a few minutes later, a young lady came in and showed me a "treatment plan" and how much would be due today. I told her I just needed my tooth pulled today and I would pay them in the morning. She stated "well, we can reschedule your extraction to in the morning." I couldn't believe what I heard! I said "what?!" She repeated herself. I got up and pulled the bib off and told her "you just chose the wrong words." I then proceeded to tell her the young lady said that would be ok. I proceeded to the front desk and the girl asked "who told you that?" I pointed to the girl and she admitted it. However, the offensive girl opened the door for me to hurry me off telling me (as did all others) that she "was new and did not have the authority to do that." They also did not believe their patient as that girl that offended me had been there for over 6 years. Kennedy needs to go back to college and learn about contract law. Maybe I need to teach him.
I asked to see the doctor, but the coward wouldn't come out and speak to me. He did, however, send me a letter terminating me as a patient since "they tried making me happy, it would be better off if I found another dentist." The point is, he never did a thing!
Well, if you can believe this, my son went a week like I fed with a tooth that was really hurting him to the point he couldn't sleep. Although he had terminated me, my wife (who is terminal with stage 4 cancer) as well as my 2 sons are still his patients. Well, we scheduled an appointment for my youngest son and Kennedy couldn't get to it then as he was going to be in Alaska. Another Dr looked at it but rescheduled to Sept 8 for a root canal. It is admitted that this tooth is a tooth that was treated by Kennedy in January merely applying a cap when it should have had a root canal. Now the damages are occurring.
Last Saturday, August 31, we had to seek an emergency dentist and got the root canal done except for cleaning and closing due to infection. However, the emergency dentist couldn't finish due to infection and my son couldn't sit still. This dentist got all the nerves and only liked 10 minutes finishing.
Kennedy's office called to confirm Michael's root canal in the morning at 8am now that the doc is back from Alaska. However, once they found out someone else had already done it, they refused to finish it even though Kennedy was the culprit for not doing the root canal the first time. Oh and after confirming the appointment and prior to calling the other Dentist to see if they had actually done a root canal, they told us that the pill that I needed to pick up to help him relax prior to the appointment was going to be $501. A question once again "$501 for a pill????" Alison responded, "Yes sir." It is my belief that they would not have canceled had I Been stupid enough to have paid the $501 for that pill.
Ironically, my wife needs a dentist and had an appointment scheduled for Tuesday with Kennedy to review holes in her mouth as a cancer patient. I called
And cancelled her appointment.
Needless to say, the only reason I gave one star is to show that I DID rate. If I could give a negative rating, I certainly would.
Oh, and by the way, they were billing my insurance all this Time under a dentist's name other than who was actually performing the work. I contacted my insurance company and they have sent a grievance form. After this happened this afternoon, I let the office manager know how I felt and that the insurance company is very interested in their practice. I suspect the Texas Dental Board will be just as interested. This is nothing less than insurance fraud!
