After our visit in Taupo, we visited this combination Thai and Vietnamese restaurant. It was formerly known as Saigonese Eatery and had a similarly mixed decor style inside.
It was located in a small strip mall a little drive away from downtown Taupo.
They served up noodle soup, stir fries, curries, fried rice and more. For lunch portions were good size and everything we tried got thumbs up.
Vietnamese chicken curry - First time trying a Vietnamese version but it was much like a Thai curry.
Duck noodle soup - Steaming in a savory broth with veggies.
Pad see ew seafood - Nice smoky flavor with lots of noodles and seafood.
Sautéed beef - tender grilled beef with a side salad.
There was just one server that afternoon but she was friendly and efficient.
The bathrooms were directly behind the main dining room wall. The door discreetly blended into the street scene that covered that wall.
At the end of the meal I paid at the counter. read more
