I had a great experience. My stylist not only did an extraordinary job but when I didn't allow for enough time she rescheduled me the next day to finish the appointment. During the hair service we began talking about make-up. She proceeding to grab product and providing a mini lesson on how to do make-up and talked me through each step. So after speaking with an assistant manager, they still get a bad rating. After arguing for a good half hour over what I had done and what I paid for (they weren't even aware I had a haircut at the appt, I had to ask them to charge me for it. I feel like an idiot for this.) I am still dissatisfied. So he first offered me a very generous 20 percent off of a future service because the color I got that day was at a discount (which was the first I heard of my awesome discount. $85 for a partial and cut? Yeah.) he then pointed out that my stylist's bff's that were squeezed into my appointment weren't as lucky and didn't get a discount and unfortunately for me I would have to physically come into the salon to sign the refund receipt for the botched haircut ($30) that someone else will have to fix. EDIT: Spoke to the owner today. It's amazing how, "this isn't how we do things, I'm sorry and let's fix this" will go a LONG way. I hope the managers get the memo (lookin' at you, Andrew). read more

I have never had as bad of an experience at ANY salon as I had a Centre Salon in Arvada. I went to Hilary, the FIRST time everything was fine. She did a great job and planned the service for my next visit. I showed her pictures and everything. So, when my next appointment came around, I was excited and full of anticipation. First, the salon messed up my appointment date and time and booked me in for a time I never confirmed. I called and spoke with the receptionist and apparently she never changed my appointment. Then, I called and spoke with the manager. She graciously took care of my appointment and offered me a discount. When I went to my appointment I spoke with my stylilst and right away she described the service we planned on for that day (she had quoted me a price last time of around $55 because it was a touch up). Then she told me she was putting a filler on my hair (?) which was confusing to me but she reassured me it was necessary. The next thing I knew she died my beautiful blond hair (which I spent two years growing out) and died it a horrible reddish-brown that still had green undertones!!! She didn't even show me the back of my hair before I left. I went to pay feeling rushed out but reassured that there were blond pieces in the back since she foiled my hair as well. Then, finally at the check out I was charged $150! I had to remind the receptionist to give me the discount but still felt uncomfortable with the last 3 hours. Finally, when I got home to check out my hair myself, I was in disbelief and cried when I looked at the back of my head. I have NEVER had such a bad hairdo and been charged so much. I think that this salon is a bad choice. They want to push services and products and are inconsiderate. I called and spoke to the managers. Andrew was very apologetic but the female was not. She asked me how I wanted to handle it and wanted me to go back to Hilary. NO way was that going to happen. Finally, I told them to refund my money and I would find a new salon now that my hair was overprocessed and tired. Bottom line, Centre Salon does not have their act together. I called the regional manager who never gave me a courtesy call back. If you want a great do look elsewhere unless you want to play russian roulette with your hair! read more

This review is for only the management and reception people which is so poor, I will not go there any longer. I had a 11am appt. When I arrived, I told them my name and time and was told to have a seat. I thought it was strange that my stylist looked no where near complete.... I was thinking that maybe someone else was going to get my hair washed and started etc. After sitting all by myself at a table for 20 min, I had to leave since I had other places to be. The guy ( who is apparently an assistant manager) told me that my appt was at 1:30 and why was I leaving? I looked at him and said... why would I be here at ELEVEN am for a 1:30 appt? Then he said he had me scheduled at 11:30.... I then asked him why he didn't tell me that when I checked in and gave my name and appt time. He had no answer I wrote a letter to the salon who very promptly answered .... she told me that this assistant manager has excellent customer service skills and never acknowledged that he clearly was not listening to me or even monitoring the clients waiting in the salon. She blamed it on the folks who call to remind about appointments. She offered me a discount for future services..but I am not going back there. I love Aveda, and have been loyal for 15 years to the product line, but I know I can find an Aveda salon that has great customer service as well as stylists. read more

Came here to get my hair done because I love Aveda products, and I find their hair dyes to be more gentle than that of other salons... Started becoming a regular for root touch ups in 2011... In 2012 the stylist that I saw here switched salons, so I followed her to a different Aveda salon, and later that year she quit doing hair all together... I decided I'd give Centre Salon another try... What a mistake! Called and was made an appointment with Heidi... When I arrived I had a picture of what shade of blonde I wanted my hair... But I also had questions about how she could achieve this color... She starred at me like I was an alien from another planet!! I thought whatever, they should have the formula in the computer, I just wanted a lighter shade of blonde, so I thought she'd be able to tweak it for me... The whole process of how they operate is annoying! And I think the price for the "work" she was performing on my hair was crazy to me! 90+ dollars to smear some dye on my ROOTS (took a total of maybe 20/30 minutes to apply the color) and leave me to sit in a chair for 3 hours was ridiculous! No kind of other Aveda perks were ever offered to me! No hand massage, no neck or shoulder massage, and there was never any good scalp massage, felt like a plain old wash at any run-of-the-mill cheap hair cut place! If I'm going to be paying 100+ dollars, the service, product, and stylist should be top notch! I saw her a couple if times and decided that this was not going to work, because I felt like I was being ripped off! And the atmosphere here is unbelievably stuffy, and half of the people working here act like they're better than you! If you're looking for an awesome Aveda salon I recommend D'Amitris in olde town Arvada! The prices are right, the atmosphere is amazing, and I would recommend Mallory! I'm a huge fan of facials. I've had facials on every vacation I've gone on, and prior to moving to Arvada, I had facials every 6 weeks for 3 years straight at my old salon. After getting settled in my new town, I began searching for a new salon. I started at Centre Salon because of the proximity to my house and because I love Aveda products. The salon itself is open and inviting. Every person I've interacted with there has been very friendly. And in the back, they've set up a little spa oasis, complete with a fireplace and a comfy sitting area. My esthetician, Sam, is a goddess. She has the touch...she makes you feel comfortable and relaxed with her warm personality. I go to Sam for all of my waxing and facial needs. Even when I'm getting hair ripped from my eyebrows with hot wax, Sam seems to make it a little less painful by just being her. The facials are heavenly! Never does an hour fly by so fast and when it's over, my skin is glowing and I'm relaxed. And now my husband is also a fan of Sam. I treated him to an hour massage and he was so impressed with Sam's technique, he plans on going back for massages every month. One last tip: At least once in everyone's life, you must have a treatment in the wet room. After I walked in the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk last year, I treated myself to a day with Sam. I started with a Total Body Elixir treatment in the wet room which was DECADENT. There are 7 jets of water that are aimed at different muscle groups on your back and legs. For an hour, you lay on a bed and receive a full-body massage with the aid of jetted water streams. It's hard to describe but at times, it felt like I was floating in the warm Caribbean water...I highly recommend it! Overall: excellent service, excellent treatments, and a wonderful way to relax. read more

I recently moved to Westminster from Fort Collins. Since I always had a good experience at the Aveda Salon (Europa) in Fort Collins I figured the one near my new home would be just as good. Well, I was wrong. This was the worst hair cut I have ever received. I told the stylist, I think her name was April, I just wanted a trim to get rid of the unhealthy ends. She said she needed to take about 2 inches off and then marked it on my back and asked me if that was okay. I told her I couldn't see it because it was on my back. She just kept trying to show it to me the same way. Finally I said it was fine as long as it's not a weird in between length. I would guess she cut at least 4" and of course it ended up being a weird in between length. When she cut it she didn't cut based on my part which has left me with odd layers. I showed her where I start my side swept bangs but she didn't like that so she got rid of about half of my bangs. Then when I washed and styled my hair for the first time after the cut, I noticed that on both sides right in front of my ears she cut really blunt chunks of hair. The odd length of hair looks bad down and it also looks bad up because of the super short blunt sections that stick out from my head. I was getting a hair cut so I could look my best for job interviews and now I have to spend money I don't have to get another hair cut in a different salon so someone will actually be willing to hire me. I just had an AWESOME haircut and color from my stylist Tracy. When you leave a salon, you are supposed to feel like a movie star, and I do! She listened to exactly what I wanted, and that is what I got. I feel beautiful. Not only that, but my salon experience was great as well. Tracy has a great personality for this job. At the last salon I visited (which shall remain nameless) my stylist could barely carry on a conversation. My overall experience was amazing and I highly recommend this salon and this stylist. I usually love this place but today they called to tell me the stylist was late while I was driving there. Me and my 2 sons where getting hair cuts. So they moved my 11 yo to a different styles. I ended being charged $55 for a kids cut. Both kids left with wet hair and cover in their hair. I was getting my hair cut so I couldn't micro manage the kids styles. So now we have to go back, once sons hair dried after we got home it looks bananas! At these prices I should be able to trust my kids will get good service. read more

The first time I went here I had my hair done by Katie, and it was great. Wasn't the best haircut I've ever had in my life (I have very curly hair and asked for a blow out, and it wasn't any better than I could do at home), but it was still good, Katie was super sweet, and it was only $30. I went back for another appointment with her 2 months later, and after arriving was told that Katie was sick. My options were to reschedule, or to wait around for an hour and get my hair cut by someone else, but luckily at Katie's lower rate still. I drove 25 minutes to get there, so I waited around. The woman who cut my hair (I wish I could remember her name) wasn't friendly and did a bad job. I think she was angry that she had to fit me in and wasn't getting paid her higher rate. When I went home I noticed that the underside of my hair hadn't even been straightened really at all. I scheduled another appointment though (with Katie again). For my first two appointments I had gotten very convenient text reminders a few days ahead. This didn't happen for my 3rd appointment, and I got a call on the day of appointment asking why I hadn't showed up. I was really mortified, but was also really confused as to why I didn't get the text reminders this time. They asked if I wanted to reschedule, and I said no. I think it's just time to give up on this place. read more

This is my regular, go-to place to get a haircut. After hopping around for the longest time trying to find a place that I liked, I finally gave here and a try, and was very pleased with everything. Sara is my regular stylist, and always does a wonderful job of cutting my hair. She makes 100% sure that I'm good to go before I get out of her chair; my hair is especially light, so theres plenty of spots that like to stick up if overlooked, however she's always on top of it making sure the whole look is great. Always super friendly, as well as great with holding conversation. Shout out to Sara, and I highly recommend her if you're trying out Centre for the first time. It can be a little daunting if you're new to everything, but Sara is absolutely a friendly, and welcoming face when picking out a stylist for a spot-on haircut every time. read more

When I first set foot inside this salon 4 years ago I was taken with how polite and professional everyone was that worked here. I first met Tessa, my hairstylist, and she was so friendly and talented. I completely trust her opinions and she has always given me a great cut/color. I recommend her to everyone! Then I met Sam, my esthetician, and was hooked. Sam is so amazing at what she does; facials, massages, waxing--these are the services for which I have seen her, and she continually exceeds my expectations at each visit. Not only is she great at her profession, but she is so nice and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her; she pays close attention to detail and after my eyebrow waxes with her I don't ever even both looking in the mirror afterwards because I know they will look exactly the way I like them. I had the pleasure of an ideal experience yesterday at this salon! I feel like I had a "hair makeover"! My stylist, Kari Rosckowff, was phenomenal. I have hair down to my waist and I have trouble trusting stylists, as it's taken so long to grow my hair to this length. I made sure the receptionist KNEW I had really long hair so that plenty of time was scheduled and so it was! This allowed Kari to take time to apply her expertise and give me the best treatments. I woke up today, looked in the mirror and wanted to hug her! The products still smell lovely and my hair looks AWESOME! This is the third time I've gone in there just to get product. Consistent with the first two times, I was treated as if i was a shoplifter. Each time it was different staff that did it, so I'm sure it's their policy. I was instantly judged at the door, got two steps in and was practically accosted by two of the staff members asking what I wanted. This wasn't a friendly "can I help you find something", it was obvious they wanted me out of there. The other two times I went with my daughter, and they treated us the same way. My daughter refuses to go in because of the way they treated her. this time i went to pay for my purchase and the cashier asked for my first name, i told her, then she asked for my last name. I asked why. she said nothing. I said that my name is on my card, and she said "never mind". My credit card also says "see I.D." on the back. She didn't even begin to look. the other cashier stood there glaring at me like I had sprayed something green all over her face. Nope, never again. read more

I've always had wonderful experiences at all Aveda salons. I tried lowering my costs this time around by going with Ali, a less-experienced stylist, to save money. BIG mistake. Not only did she complain the entire time about the previous client but also provided me with a bad color & cut. The left side was almost 2" shorter than the right...and she bleached my hair instead of giving me a "subtle lightening" from my mousy brown. There are large bleach spots left near my part & and even larger spot of bleach on my sweater. (Tip: strongly insist on wearing a full coverage drape) So, needless to say, I haven't (and will never) gone back to Ali. Another stylist fixed it for free...which took even more of my time, but she did a wonderful job! read more

Everytime I went there the manager always treated me wired, and I just felt like my money wasn't good enough for them. Then I came in for a 3pm appt. Although it was a ghost town in there i was sitting there 35 min while the receptionist and that manager would walk by and say nothing, after I finally mentioned my wait, that they were aware of, the receptionist lacked the communication to the stylist that she had a client. So I didn't go back for 2 years. I would never gone back but I received a gift card. (And the boy from Simpsons goes "Ha ha!") Although I was hesitant I thought I'd give them another chance, since a free cut sounded good. So I go and again I was waiting but recieved acknowledgment this time, from Ali my stylist. I asked for a layer and a bang, decided to go a little shorter than usual. Pretty standard hair cut. So after she cuts the crown, she had hardly taken any length off so I asked to go a little shorter. She then gathers all the hair together and chops away. I didn't realize what was going on. Then when I asked for the bang. She kept cutting it to my chin. I left kinda in a whatever mood. When I got home I could not believe what she had done. Their were random long and short chops in my hair and was uneven. It looked terrible. So I went to Salon Hethers and Heather the owner pointed out 4 major problems with my hair. Thank god she was able to fix it. If you want great service and trust then go to Salon Hethers. Heather was absolutely amazing. I don't even know where to start with this review. I recently went to this Salon to get a great haircut and be in a professional enviroment.....this was far from that. I had called and stated I would like to see a Senior Stylist for a haircut and asked who they recommended, they booked with with a male stylist, I believe his name was Luis. When I arrived the front desk greeted me and offered me a beverage and told me I could take a seat and that he would be with me soon. So, I sat down at the table a began to read. I read for about 20 minutes and was begining to wonder if there was a male stylist there since I had not seen on there. I began to become impatient and went to the front desk to see how much longer I had to wait. They lady said "let me see if I can find him!'' Moments later she returned with a "Luis." He greeted my but he just looked like I just inturrupted his life. He took me to his chair and contiuned to play off that I had done something wrong. We started talking about what I wanted which was a basic trim. He took me over to the shampoo area as we walked past another stylist he said to her "I can't believe this bullsh*t." When he was shampooing my hair I asked him if there was something wrong and he gave this aweful look and said "NO!" He continued to shampoo and was talking to the same stylist from before about how dumb another employee was and how dare she tell him his numbers when she's never here and on about how unprofessional she was and that he should have went off on her. I was thinking "how is this professional?" We went back to the chair and he began to cut my hair. Again, still looking angry and mad about what had happened. At the end he asked if I had styling product and went over what he used. I stated that I wish the cut would be a little tighter and was looking for it to be shorter. He replied, I can cut it shorter or we can reschedule another appointment I'm running short of time today." I asked him if he can just take it a little shorter on the sides. He did but again, making it seem like I was out of line to question his work. He took me up to the front desk and said thanks for coming in (all with this nasty fake look). I paid for my cut and mind you it's one of the higher haircuts I have paid for. As I was paying I heard him say to another employee "that is why I hate to cut mens hair!' I was just thrown back by that! He didn't even clean his station just went to the back like a pissed off little brat. I will never go back and have told many not to go here! I'm a business owner and I would NEVER allow an employee to have this attitude around my clients. It was apparent he had had a talk about his preformance as he clearly wasn't having it that day! read more

Review for Tessa (stylist) When I first moved to CO I was scared to death to let anyone touch my hair. I went four months without a hair cut or color until I could feel secure enough with a salon and stylist. Aveda has always had a great reputation and I love their products so when I researched a nearby salon, Centre Salon & Spa seemed like the right fit. I was referred to Tessa as an excellent stylist and she delivered! Sometimes conversations with stylists can seem contrived but not with Tessa! I always felt like I was catching up with an old friend. From the first visit, where she gave me the perfect golden blonde highlights and long, layered cut, I was smitten! Tessa is fun, friendly and extremely talented. For 4 years I walked out with the exact hair color (from all shades of brown and blonde) and cut that I had imagined when I walked in. Tessa has a knack for knowing what will look best on her clients. Trust her. I did and I was always happy. I wish she could have moved back to CA with me! Review for Sam (esthetician) Some estheticians will just give you a treatment and call out, "next." It's their job and they make it feel just like that - a J.O.B. Don't get me wrong, the service itself can be fantastic but before and after you feel like you're another number in the rotation. If you want to feel SPECIAL, pampered and leave feeling like you are appreciated, go to Sam. Sam exudes warmth and has an incredibly peaceful and positive energy. She greets you with a beautiful smile, has a therapeutic touch and soothing spirit. Before I moved out of state, the treatments I received from Sam were monthly Brazilian and eyebrow waxes, as well as an occasional facial or massage. I was referred to her by my beloved hair stylist (Tessa) when another esthetician had completely destroyed the shape of my brows. Sam was able to bring my eyebrows back to a perfect arched shape and gained my loyalty as a client for 3 years. She is professional, thorough and gentIe. I always felt comfortable getting a Brazilian wax by her - she uses two types of wax (a hard and soft wax) to minimize the pain, which helps make it bearable. She is a perfectionist in all of her services and her waxes are truly impeccable. Her facials are relaxing and made my skin significantly clearer. She also provides excellent, indulgent massages. Sam is truly passionate about what she does and it shows. She provides the ultimate in customer service and has such a healing and compassionate approach. I wish I could have relocated her with me! As an aside, Centre Salon & Spa is clean and comfortable. It's a cute, simplistically decorated location where you are greeted with a glass of water or cup of Aveda tea. I have been visitng Centre for two years and have loved the way I look and feel every time I leave. I have had appointments with many of the stylists and have always had fantastic service. I don't feel like the stylists push product anymore than other Aveda salons which is a huge plus. read more
