Furthermore, flamenco is suppose to be small scale in an intimate setting instead of being performed on a big stage. We reserved the last table that night, second floor, but you can easily see the stage right below. The cuadro consisted of 5 people included a male and a female dancer. Not being a connoisseur of this traditional dance, I thought it was impressive and high energy. They performed for about an hour with a short break in between. The food here was much better than expected. They have all the traditional Cordoba cuisine such as salmorejo, mazamorra, flamenquin, berenjenas con miel, rabo de toro, and pastel Cordobes. We tried most of them and the taste were as good as the less touristy restaurant we ate the night before.

I enjoyed the artichokes cooked in hot local wine which was delicious. They use a Spanish wine called Montilla-Moriles for these. I also had a salmorejo soup and fried eggplant with molasses honey. My favorites were the hot artichokes in wine and dipping the hot bread in the salmorejo.

So, you walk in buy a drink and show up towards the end of the previous show so you can grab a seat upfront for the next show. We did this and landed premium spots right in front of the stage. The drinks were mediocre and we dint order any food. But it was worth it for the flamenco show. They do strictly ask not to take any photos or videos and you can pay them whatever you feel like post the performance. We had a fantastic time and recommend this place to others as well.

There was a show going on when we arrived around 10:50, so the main entrance was closed off, but we went through the side entrance and ordered drinks at the bar. I got a small glass of the orange wine, since I heard that was the specialty in Sevilla and wanted to try it. It was a sweeter wine but had a slightly bitter after taste. There were already a lot of people there, so it was a bit hard for us to see the performance, but from what I could see, it was really good. When it finally ended around 11, the lights came on. My friend and I didn't want to wait around for the next performance, so we finished our drinks and left. They also have plenty of seating outdoors in the courtyard, so if you want to just grab a drink but not watch the show, you can always sit outside and chat.

It was hard to select a place to see a flamenco show during my stay in Granada after reading all…read morethe mixed reviews I found in internet. I made the right choice !! This place is closer to the city center than the others but still you need to climb some small hills to get there, and more if you follow the google map directions, lol. The show was astonishing. The show is in cave, which adds more character to the presentation. The dancers seemed to be enjoying what they were doing and they were dancing like they were in front of a big or knowledgeable audience. I do not know much about this dance , but I found the show very entertaining and I could feel all the emotion from the dancing . All dancers were good but one of the female dancer was extraordinary. I think it was my highlight of the Granada trip. Well done !!

Simply put, this is one of the best ways you can spend your money in Granada…read more I can't speak to the food. I didn't eat there, and I don't recommend you do, either. Just go to hear the music and see the dance. You don't want to be that clown clinking your silverware while a woman is pouring her heart out on stage. That will happen, especially among certain tourist groups from certain countries renowned for their discourtesy. (If you want to get a drink, they're not great here, but that's more acceptable. Just be respectful about when you set your glass back down.) El Templo del Flamenco is a *fantastic* music and dance experience. There's one male singer, one female, one guitarist, one guy who claps (and sometimes dances) and two women who clap, stomp and dance. The music is passionate. The performances are powerful. The venue (a hidden, whitewashed cave) is unique. You will have a great time, guaranteed. I was seriously wowed by the talent on display. As I mentioned, I was deeply annoyed that waiters would frequently have to service tables in the middle of performances. And I was annoyed that certain tourist groups from certain countries renowned for their discourtesy had no idea how to silence their cameras so they wouldn't chime every time they went to take a picture. And I was annoyed that certain-certains also had a way of clinking their silverware at the absolute worst musical moments. But if you can get past that, you will see amazing artists at the top of their game, giving you passion that could melt stone. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEnd3De0Jak Grand finale video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omGk3iyZklA Warning: El Templo del Flamenco is *seriously* difficult to find. I wrote them in advance to secure our place and they had one of their employees meet us (and others) at the Puerta de Elvira (an easy-to-find monument). From there, you ascend *several* winding staircases to get to the venue. It's not an easy climb unless your middle name is Stairmaster. If you miss the escort, it may be possible to find the venue with an offline map app, like "maps.me," although such offline maps tend to be woefully incomplete. You will be shocked at how hidden this place is. Warning #2: If you attend the later of the two performances, be sure to have eaten *before* the show. Granada tends to shut down earlier than other Spanish towns we visited, so we were literally racing from closed restaurant to closed restaurant, searching in vain for something open that late. Come with a full belly and you'll be happier. (If you attend the first performance of the night, most restaurants should be at your disposal for a post-show meal.)
