I've been trying to see my primary doctor, Dr. Hernandez, since May 18th for bleeding in my brain. On the day of my appointment, he left the clinic without informing me. He worked in the morning and left Burrego in the afternoon. I had been in the hospital ICU for brain bleeding, and my neurosurgeon told me to see my primary doctor as soon as possible. After calling Centro Médico Escondido many, many times and not being able to make an emergency appointment, they sent me an appointment via text message without even checking if I could make it that day. Desperate to get my referrals set up, I made it to the appointment. Sadly, Dr. Hernandez left the clinic without canceling my appointment. He works in the morning and leaves in the afternoon. If it was an emergency, the front desk should have called me to reschedule. I have been waiting for a whole month for an emergency appointment. When I called over the phone, I said I would take any doctor available as soon as possible. I am so disappointed with this center. The front desk staff are rude and act like nothing happened. I kept telling her this is an emergency, but she still rescheduled me for next month July 18th!! So, wait time for an emergency appointment is two months in Cento Medico Escondido!! Just an update. After not receiving a single bill from this office for 3 years, I just got one in the mail for over $1,000. I'd always ask if I had a copay or owed anything and the front office would just say "if you owe anything they'll bill you" I guess it just takes them a while. I left a message for the manager to call me back, that was last week and surprise surprise, no one's followed up. This place is a total joke. read more

At least he was nice, friendly; however we told him we thought there was a rock in my sons hand he dismissed it and a week later his hand is infected! I understand that this place is mainly for people who cannot afford health insurance so you would THINK that the people who work here would care more. The urgent care provider Cheryl Weltch is a horrible Dr. I was seen at the E.R. at PALOMAR because a DR screwed up my diagnoses. Went to the ER again and the DR that diagnosed me said he's seen MANY cases like mine, it was hand foot mouth disease. He gave me amoxicillin for the pain and inflammation. Couple months later I go and see Urgent Care provider Cheryl Weltch because I was struck with the disease again and I work with elderly which is highly contagious and goes away w/in 7 days.. So naturally I ask Dr Cheryl Weltch for a work note for the week because I wasn't going to infect the elderly. She looks at my throat & mind you I was taking amoxicillin and its been 3 days in and i just run out of amoxi. from the last time) she looks at my fingers for A SPLIT SECOND. Tells me it wasn't hand foot mouth disease... Prescribes me ibuprofen.. and gives me a note to go back to work the next day... AND DOESN'T EVEN DIAGNOSE ME. Couple days later I have a DRs appointment with Flemming and she says Hand foot mouth disease cases never look the same and gives me a work note for the week because she knew it was contagious. So thank you DR Flemming for doing your job. SIDE NOTE: my appointment was at 10:15 am and I wasn't seen until 10:45-11 but ONLY because DR Flemming is extremely THOROUGH with each of her patients. My roommate went here yesterday. They tested him for strep which came back negative. They gave him a prescription for antibiotics and prednisone and sent him home. I was tested for Covid at the Veterans hospital. We have the exact same symptoms and they were sure I had Covid. My test came back positive which means my roommate has Covid as well. Do not go here if you want accurate results on your illness. You're not supposed to give antibiotics and steroids for Covid! They did not even test him for it. Urgent care takes so long to see you, expect at least an 1hr& half wait if you're lucky! Dr wosk was our primary pediatrician and now that he's not working here anymore every time I have to get my daughter checked I always end up going to urgent care because there's none in-office doctors available when I need an appointment, so this turns into a nightmare! Staff also takes their sweet time to even bring out paperwork to you, I don't know what's going on with this place but they need to speed up their staff & efforts !! So ridiculous to take over 2hrs for just a single check up! I had to go up to the receptionist couple of times to try to find out what was going on with our prescriptions as well. read more

I am writing today to complain of the poor service we received from this centro médico. Friday 09 December 2022. The front desk representative Jessica was extremely rude to my mom on her first visit here. I don't appreciate this representative yelling at my mom the way she did, My mother was confused on how to fill out a certain part on the patient papers, and had a question. This girl named Jessica automatically chose violence, and start yelling at my mom telling her to fill it out and handed the papers over like 3 times but I can't explain why Jessica couldn't COMMUNICATE better without being so violent. This girl Jessica is racist!! I thought they'd treat my mom better. other receptionist were so nice. They need to get this girl fired. My mom is Mexican, and does not speak English. I am not leaving this as it is. Worst first time experience for my mom. Jessica is no one to treat people this way, bad day probably? Why go to work and treat people badly. DR. Ramirez is really great!!! he touch base with his patients and explains thoroughly based on your concerns. But the patient services representative needs to work on their customer services. The fact thay they are dealing with people Yes people can just be too much sometimes. But the people needs to be at the same page. I had ask for a medical record more than 5 days and said i will pick it up on my day of my appointment, as they have said it will only take a day or two. Appointment day : well the appointment was mostly for medical clearance to travel and to pick up medical record. The Doctor stated i can pick up my paperwork that he signed around 6-8pm this is not the first time that this happened that the patient service representatives told me that i cant come in pick it up at that time. So who is who is deciding. All i am saying is i hope they are on the same page and not just technically just saying "you cant pick it up or you cant come in that time anymore" i just need clarifications This is not the first time it happened. Last time doctor said i can come back for my blood work at this time etc.. i came back they said i cant ... You always have difficulty talking to this people while the doctor stated out clearly thay i can. They need to have better judgement on making decisions. Why do they have to make things complicated. Especially its so hard for people to set up appointments and to take time as well to meet up and drive to places. Dr. Keyvan Malekshamran is an amazing human and doctor, he genuinely cares about his patients . He is very knowledgeable. He explains in Detail and takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer all the questions. He took such great care of my son, he was able to refer him to get his procedures done the very next day we had the appointment with him. He is always very nice, and polite. Today after my son's lab work he came all the way to the waiting room to say hi and to ask My son how he was doing. We need more people and doctors like doctor Keyvan. read more

I find Barrago Health tremendously accommodating. Dr. Cervantes Is very thorough and has a great bedside manner with both my daughter and I. They can usually get us in same day if needed, and I love the text message reminders on my phone for my appointments. Would definitely recommend. This place is HORRIBLE!! As soon as you enter ALL the "receptionists" have a bitchy attitude. I went in today with a set appointment and they had book me for the wrong thing and wrong person, hence this is not the first time they've done it. I'm pretty sure they only do it so they can charge my insurance! They don't care about the patients as they're always gossiping instead of doing there job!! Also, the "nurses" also have a shitty attitude and one has even gotten in my face for not allowing my mother to be in the room with me when I was underage (she got fired already!) The "receptionists" (who are also nurses) and "nurses" are condescending and always making you feel stupid when something is wrong with your appointment. That's what happens when you put inadequate people to "TRY" to perform the job (8 months at ITT TECH doesn't count!) The only good thing about this place is DOCTOR BERNARD WOSK!! This is the WORST place ever if i could give it 0 stars i would. I went in for a cough that iv had for 3 weeks but it has been longer now since the medicine they gave me which i paid about 220 for did not work at all. I went in and the doctor didnt even tell me what was wrong with me he just checked me explained the medine he was going to give me and told me he was going to take a chest x ray of me which did not happen because as soon as he left his assistant came back inside and told me "heres your prescription you can go now". I am a medical provider trying to do my job to help patients. Needed records on an important medical case and this clinic was absolutely terrible at helping. There seems to be no one in charge of providing records and the office seems not to care at all about helping with this important service. The doctor that is also the owner is the most rude, unpleasant guy you've ever meet. He should not even be a doctor. He raised his voice at me and my friend and told us to get out of his office. I wanted to speak to the Brazilian doctor and he told us that we ere not allowed to speak to no one else in his office. We were there from noon until 3pm. I love the new office location but they need to still work a little on their customer service and getting back to people in a timely manner and when I say timely manner, yes I understand how referrals work but I have had 3 different referrals that if I hadn't called in to check status I would still be waiting for the call that would never come because they have no follow up system (Im asssuming otherwise not sure why they don't call me back) and for some reason or another referral wasn't completed. My most recent one was about 4 weeks past my initial appointment and II had to constantly call back to follow up on referrals that typically the Dr's office staff should be calling the patient with details and not the other way around. Just to be fair, there are a couple of very nice ladies on staff that have assisted me during my visits that have been very pleasant to myself and my kids.. read more

Updating on behalf on my husband's appointment. I recommended him this place, because of my past experience. Over the phone they didn't clarify that the cost for the visit "$80" was more like a down payment for whatever work is done. Luckily the front office staff helped him get paperwork done so he didn't have to pay. The staff was nice inside the appointment. He got some labs done. He went to his follow up appointment a week later and guess what .. they never sent the labs out !!! Please train your call center representatives better. I saw all these bad reviews and thought I should even out the rating. It's funny how people Will jump to write a bad review but good service does not bring the same emotion to write a review about.... I left my old doctors office because they had I have a lot of horrible things about the service (neighborhood health). I came to these guys and was pleasantly impressed. If you have a pain in your chest, they will see you with no appointment. Neighborhood health will make you wait hours and hours until they can see you. All the doctors I've seen have been incredibly helpful. All my concerns have been engaged. I really can't describe in words how amazing is this medical office has been. At every turn, they have been there for me and a few times gone out of their way to make me happy. (I was going away on a long trip and my disability placard paperwork had a little scribble on it from my main doctor so the DMV wouldn't take it. My doctor only works one day a week so they had another doctor sign it) They didn't have to do that. The main person in charge was incredibly generous to understand my situation and go out of her way to ask another doctor to help. read more

This is a community clinic but the service is actually comparable to a private office. The staff is certainly friendly and very professional. Every time I go it is a pleasant experience and I usually get seen tight away. The doctors are great and the atmosphere reminds me of mars. read more
