His shoulder was dislocated at birth and I went to her about this...she said nothing! Their only concern is "your baby needs shots" Its pandemic and shut down. why did he need shots? When you're not feeling your best, it's always nice to be greeted by a welcoming and smiling face. Also, scheduling and getting paper work signed was a breeze. The same goes for the nursing staff -- incredibly attentive and helpful. Appointments: Appointments are on-time and never feel rushed. The midwives are very knowledgeable and take their time to address all of your questions and concerns. When I was considering hiring a doula and a chiropractor for some pelvic pain -- each time the midwives had great recommendations. Also -- I called the midwives' on-call line a couple times during my pregnancy and each time they were able to answer my questions thoroughly and settle any nerves or concerns I had. The birth experience: I saw both Tara and Kelly at Shady Grove when I went into labor. Kelly ended up catching my baby and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Not only were my birth plan requests honored by both the midwives and the nursing staff -- but Kelly helped to create a peaceful and supportive birthing environment. I've never felt more empowered and was able to deliver my baby unmedicated. You should absolutely consider the midwives at MCA, if you are wanting a natural, no/low-intervention experience. Prior to me becoming a patient here, I had been pregnant 3 times (in a different state), twice…read moredelivering at full term with midwives. So, I have some experience with the process. From the start, I felt like they weren't really sure what they were doing. At 8 weeks, I went in for a confirmation/dating scan. I had let them know I had been tracking and I was very sure of ovulation date, etc. She sort of dismissed me and said that the baby was dating 7 weeks. I thought it was odd, especially since I ovulated late, but I just accepted it for the moment. I also mentioned that I had hypothyroidism and she was like, "Oh so you want me to check thyroid levels?" I was like of course! Shouldn't that be standard for pregnancy anyway? I had my standard blood draw and waited. And waited. Almost 2 weeks went by and no one had called me with results. In the past, I had my results and immediate action within 2 days, so this was bad. Meanwhile, I felt oddly cold, so I called the office to get my results. They casually told me that my TSH level was 12 (when it should be under 2.5)! I was very angry and said, so are you going to prescribe me medication, and they said no it wasn't a big deal. In talking to endocrinologists as well as other midwives and obstetrics, I confirmed that yes it is in fact a big deal and can lead to a miscarriage. My previous midwife and an obstetrician friend said that what this practice was doing was very wrong and they should absolutely take it seriously. I kept calling, letting them know this was a potential emergency and they kept brushing me off. I immediately went to Urgent Care where they gave me a prescription. I couldn't see an endocrinologists for 2 weeks, and at that time they felt my levels were still way too high and bumped up my dosage. She seemed to agree that it was dangerous. Well, around 12 weeks I went to Maternal Fetal Medicine where they confirmed that the baby had died around 8 weeks. Midwifery Care Associates of course assumed no partial responsibility in this. They should have flagged the measuring small from the start. Then they should have acknowledged a thyroid issue. I am convinced that if I had gone anywhere else they would have flagged it from the very start. Perhaps the baby couldn't be saved, but at least someone would have noticed something was wrong. I am now pregnant again in a different state and can see the HUGE difference at the level of care at 8 weeks. This practice is an absolute joke and they have no idea what they are doing. If you are pregnant, please seek care somewhere else.

The one that saw baby in the hospital wasn't one we felt 100% good about caring for her. I've passed this location on my way into Laurel many times and found out that they accepted my insurance. First, Dr. Delaney works with Children's Pediatricians & Associates, a plus that they're connected with Children's Hospital. When we arrived, the front desk staff was very friendly & checking in was very easy, you can actually check in online before arriving. Once we got back in the room (very little wait time) we met the doctor. She is very kind, gentle & compassionate, she definitely cares about her patients! She did a thorough exam & asked if we had any questions. It was a very pleasant experience for baby, mom & grandma. If you're looking for a great pediatrician who is local to Laurel/Beltsville & is genuinely a good doctor, I highly recommend her!

Everyone from the doctors to the nurses, including the receptionists, were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I was actually surprised this appointment took 2 hours as the one I had gone to for my first little one (at another office, several years prior) only took about an hour. You spent about the first half hour to 45 min with the geneticist, who laid out all the costs and genetic testing options available (def something GWMFM did not do). I will say However, it did feel a bit more like services were being "marketed" toward me. After this, you head for your sonogram (no pictures or video allowed, they'll print you a set of 3 b&w). Next, the doctor will come in and discuss the sonogram. Last, if you wanted any of those genetic tests done, they'll draw your blood. My appointment did not run on time, but I did tell them I could stay past the two hours they had asked me to alot (due to a schedule issue), and the office actually was able to get me out of there before the 2-hour time, so thank you. I felt like a looked-after patient here and I would definitely recommend coming here! *Def a plus to get a call from the doctor regarding the results of my genetic tests *Clean and spacious waiting room. He not only sees patients, but he passes his knowledge on to future generations of fertility doctors. You can tell he practices for the love of his work. After much research and experience with other doctors/practices in the field, we found Dr. Muasher. During our research, I came across a statement from someone who stated, "You love the fertility doctor who gets you pregnant." Well, I think that can be true to some extent but I also think the journey is difficult enough without adding in a lack of compassion and personalization from the person you are putting all your hopes and money into. Our experience with Dr. Muasher was extremely personalized as we were only followed by him. We didn't waste cycle after cycle "trying" this and that. He made changes according to each cycle, minimizing our time and energy, which becomes precious over multiple attempts. He also showed a level of professionalism and integrity that you don't see all the time from doctors. His staff loves and respects him. As a doctor myself, that is huge! He may not be the "warm and fuzzy" type, but he cares and supports you through the process in a way that you feel calm and cared for. That was really important to us after our experiences at larger practices. Last bit: While we did not to do the "shared risk" plan that is ever so popular now, it ended up being less expensive with him paying each time. For that we were extremely grateful as we paid out of pocket for his services. And yes, we did get pregnant with twins! Expecting in April, 2011!
