When I was struggling with the very long days at home with the baby and realized she was also a postpartum doula, I was sooo relieved!! Mary helped care for my baby for a few hours so I could nap and shower and get a break here and here to take care of myself and handle the days better. I've visited the office twice and both times Dr. Marmon failed to mention that my son will need clearances from anesthesia and neurosurgery, but he wrote it in his note. I asked him about it and he said it's fine and that he'll contact those specialties directly and discuss my son's case. I had nothing to worry about, so I thought. So my son was scheduled for surgery today; however, it was cancelled last minute. The only way I found out about the cancellation was after several phone calls. Smh. Two days ago I called and the office staff told me everything was good to go and someone will call me the day before surgery to inform of a time. That call never happened.

We were worried going in because we knew a couple families who needed revisions for their sons, but we felt very comfortable with Dr. Marmon. As someone in healthcare myself, I recommend Dr. Marmon both for his clinical skill as well as his bedside manner. He is succinct but thorough and overall speaks of strong competence. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a doctor for a circumcision and I suspect that his strengths transfer to other areas/procedures as well.

When I was referred to PIVOT by my primary care doc, I was in intense pain due to an auto accident. I finally managed to find someone that is a) close to my house, b) accepts my insurance, and c) won't make me wait six months for an appointment. Dr. Match's nurse was very understanding of my situation, and managed to get me an appointment within a week of phoning. I arrived early to fill out new patient paperwork, and had to wait maybe five minutes to see the doctor. Before making me don the paper examination outfit, we had a nice chat in his office regarding my medical history, and what pills would work best for me. He seemed genuinely concerned, but wasn't overly chatty. I am ok with this, as I do not go to the doctor for social reasons. While I would have felt extremely comfortable asking him awkward questions about sex/diseases/anything that would start with, "I have this rash...," he's not my best friend. Let's keep it professional. Ladies, the exam room had an actual dressing room. And, Dr. Match was kind enough to warm the speculum under some running water before the exam. Really, it's little things like this that made all the difference. But this man is efficient; my entire exam, while thorough, lasted less than 30 minutes, from blood pressure to payment. I was handed a lovely tote containing two months worth of sample pills and a card that will help keep my birth control costs manageable. The nurse happily made me an appointment for next year, and I was on my merry way, to return only in the case of emergency prior to that date. I was asked numerous times if I had any questions or concerns, and would feel comfortable calling their office in the event that I need extra information. In a nutshell: He rocks. Go visit him, but only on Thursday afternoons in the West End office. Any other time, you'll have to drive to Reston.

I've been his patient since 2001 and wouldn't go anywhere else. He's professional, down-to-earth, and even mildly funny. I highly recommend him! For the reasons cited by the other reviewer, Morgan W., Dr. Match is a great pick for several reasons: 1) he accepts my difficult insurance, 2) his office is in a great location on M Street near my office, and 3) it's easy to make an appointment, although he's only in DC on Thursdays. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes to be seen. He also treats his patients very well. His staff is also really nice. Dr. Match will take the time to talk to you about options, discuss your health and he will talk in his office with you about any concerns you might have. He's always very professional and genuinely seems to care. He takes the time to treat you like a person. I did learn last year that he is no longer delivering babies, as he is close to retirement and wants to start enjoying more of his free time. If you're looking for an OB, he would happily make a referral for you but probably won't deliver your kid himself. If you're looking for any other GYN care, I couldn't recommend him more highly.
