We actually got to sleep through the night. We stayed at GRMC last time and Christus was where we should have gone then. Compared to GRMC just confirms that our experience there was horrible. I still can't believe that housekeeping was only there one time during a 10 day stay - it was gross! We cannot praise Christus enough! They are 5+ stars and we highly recommend!!

Went to San Marcos location, they refused to remove my daughters stitches due to her being frightened & in fear of the pain of initially having them in. They advised me to go to ER & have my FIVE year old daughter sedated to have THREE stitches removed. That's ridiculous and laughable. Left there and drove to the New Braunfels Location, the ladies there were great & had zero hesitation to remove them. Edna was fantastic, she was calm and kind with my daughters & had them removed in less than 5 mins. Thank you Med Post NB! It's nice to see customer service and patience in medical practice. *San Marcos location was great, during the initial stitches appointment, the staff on duty THAT DAY was great. The staff today, was not, particularly the nurse. *No patience, no patients.*

I have a few different things that I was disappointed about…read more I am disappointed that I was made to pay for a visit to discuss test results when it could've been discussed with me over the phone. Also this was a follow up "visit" from my annual. I have had this experience before and I was never asked to pay for my follow up appt and I was told "it's a part of your annual, you don't need to. It's covered." when I asked at Lone Star Medical why I needed to pay for a follow up visit, her answer at the front desk was "it's $25 :)". So I was like whatever, just get it over with. But I don't think that was fair. On regards to the provider care, I was told everything was fine -many things were, but not everything. I caught a low level for something on my bloodwork and a high one that's been alarming for me for a couple of years now and my provider just goes "it's not bad". But I do have several symptoms of something "unknown" and "undiagnosed" things that aren't normal. The wait times when I was scheduled and fasted was insane. The lab provider was amazing! 5 stars to her. In all senses. Great at her work and she deserves a raise! Also, I had recommended a friend so she could have her annual visit and we both are new patients, however, they never ever called her back to schedule hers. Of course she ended up going somewhere else. I just wish this town would have better options that take insurance and provide caring care. Not business care. My provider, however, the great things I can say is that she has an amazing personality and made me feel like home while in the office visit with her. However, communication after my appointment didn't meet my expectations.

I see Dr. Jay Gruhlkey and it is always a pleasant experience. You really have to appreciate his professional, yet laid back jeans and a button up shirt and cowboy boots, approach to medical care. He has never steered me wrong, and his bedside manner is outstanding. Listens to your issues, does not judge, and explores all options to treat your issues. Highly recommend him. He is hard to get in to see, but if you have time to wait, definitely try to.

I gave four stars instead of five because the front desk lady who sits to the right (had shorter hair in a hair clip) if you're in the lobby looking through the window was very rude to another patient. The patient had went up to the window and inquired about his wait time in the lobby because he said he observed other patients being called back before he had been called back, and he had been there before them. Instead of her explaining to the gentleman the process of how everything goes, the lady on the left-hand side if you're looking inside the window from the lobby, explained to him that the specific procedure he was having, they wanted him to come in earlier and that he would be called back soon. The young lady on the right hand side if you were looking through the window, rolled her eyes so hard they almost got stuck in the back of her head. I thought it was so rude of her to do so, especially with so many eyes that were sitting in the lobby looking at her. Not sure if she was having a bad day or if that is her attitude all the time, but she is working in the wrong field, if this is how she is all the time. The waiting area is nice. Although there were 4 large HEPA filters , one in the seating area of the lobby large enough to block 2 seats, , 2 others on each entrance with trash cans and one by the women's bathroom. I was wondering what they were I'm sure a lot of people were. It would ease my mind knowing what it was instead of thinking there was a water leak needing blowers. Possibly having a sign on them would let people know that they were there for purifying the air. Otherwise it concerned me and gave me the impression of the lobby lacking in cleanliness for a surgical center even if it was in the waiting room. We have used Santa Rosa surgical Center in the past so I know they are top notch so this is unusual to have the lobby looking a bit out of sorts. The lobby is ice cold! Bring a jacket if you're the friend/ family waiting. It was so cold I went outside in the 90 degree heat and coming back in put a mask on to keep my cold nose from getting colder. But a sweet nurse brought me a warmed up sheet to wrap in. The lady registering pts at the front desk must have requested it for me, kudos for her taking care of family members and going above and beyond. My husband had his procedure. I was called back .His doctor explained his findings and follow up. His nurse Karen was excellent and gave thorough discharge instructions. This is the place to go if you ever need day surgery. And Christus Santa Rosa is my go to for care.

They did test that I knew were going to come out negative because I figured it was a common cold. After telling me there was nothing they could do, I left paying $66 just for the note. He also told me he didn't see any irritation in my throat but I definitely did. I also told him I ate ginger garlic and lemon and tumeric to help and he didn't address that may have help. i worry that due to age he could not see what was wrong with my throat, because the nurse said she could see something and i could see something myself

Had I lied and checked 'self pay' they'd have seen me. Sounds like someone needs to figure out their policies and ridiculousness or at the very least POST THAT THEY DON'T TAKE TRICARE. I could understand if there were no military bases around but seriously - a LOT of folks have TRICARE in this area.
