I went to watch the Despicable Me 4 movie and as we walked in they were already ready to take our order. The people were really nice. We got in pretty fast so service is 5 star but the seating wasn't as good. It was probably the biggest theater I have been in, but the seats weren't good. There wasn't a tray to place my stuff on like a lot of theaters do. I couldn't lay my seat back and there wasn't as much leg room as other theaters. So it was ok. read more

No drink refills. Not even for water. They said it's a "COVID-19 related" reason. No other theater refuses refills. Maybe they should consider cleaning their theater. The concession stand is absolutely filthy and the floors are covered in food and popcorn. The theater seats are sticky as well. Definitely don't recommend this theater. read more

The theater was not crowded, seats were nice. It was clean - no sticky floors as we found our way to our seats. Stadium seating. Sound was good. The problem was the A/C. I never get warm/hot in a movie theater because they typically keep them cool. Sometimes I take a sweater because I get too cool. But here we got hot. It felt very humid/muggy and too warm. So they need to fix the A/C and maybe put in a dehumidifier or something. Bathroom wasn't remarkable and I always notice when they're dirty, smelly, or filled with trash. read more

Picture quality was good. Sound quality was good but the volume was way too low! Whole place needs some TLC in cleaning department. Seats were not very comfortable and the arm rests did not raise (for all those couples out there that like to snuggle you won't like this place). I would probably make a day trip to the metro area if there was a must-see-movie rather than go back here. Is there any point reviewing food prices? Like other cinemas they are criminally high. *Update*. I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars because i'll give the cinema the benefit of the doubt. Ok, so we had to go see Olympus Has Fallen (great movie btw) and of course in usual fashion only one place here in Abilene got it. We were in a different auditorium than before. This time the sound was actually good volume this time. So I wonder, does the sound vary from auditorium to auditorium? the projectionist? or maybe businesses read these reviews? 3-stars = "A-OK" Just your basic theater with okay seats, okay cleanliness, okay picture/sound quality, etc.. you get the picture right? Nothing different about this theater from others you have been to. Food and drinks are over-priced., ticket prices seem to be on the rise, and you have your fingers crossed other patrons are considerate. With that said, I do have to credit Century Theaters as one of the best movie theaters in Abilene. Definitely a good place to go for movie night out experience. Kind of makes you feel young again!! read more

I've been coming here since it opened years ago. This theater has been my favorite theater till this year. Comfortable to watch the whole movie. Till this year. My mother and I went to see Avengers End Game. It was very hot in the theater. As I was fanning myself, another movie goer told me he was hot too and talked to someone. All of us were a bit early to make the show. The a/c didn't come on till the movie started about 15 minutes later. Then about 30 minutes till the end, it quit blowing cold. I got so uncomfortable and I was sweating and so I got up during a fight scene to go say something because I couldn't take it anymore. I came back to find out that I missed a very important part. I was mad. After this movie, I went to see one at their sister theater and the a/c went off approx. 30 minutes till the end of the movie too. If this continues, I'll start going to the mall theater. It doesn't do that there. read more

Decent theater, decent staff. My problem is the quality of the product. I guess Abilene just really is THAT boring and wants to keep it that way. 5 movie theaters in this town and every one of them show the EXACT SAME MOVIES. Every week. Coming from San Antonio, I loved having variety in the type of movies being offered there! There were foreign films, Indie films, box office bonanzas were not all that was ever offered, like here in Abilene. Apparently the new XD theater will be exactly the same as the others, now with just a better seat to nap in. read more

This is your basic typical theatre. Nothing special about it. Decent chairs, decent food, decent customer service. The video quality is good. This theatre is due for a renovation to make it a 5/5. Add reclining seats, IMAX, & reserved seating! read more

Decent theater, best in Abilene. In fact, I don't go to movies if they're playing in the mall or over at Carmike's. The popcorn is the best in town (not saying too much). If you go during the weekend.. and at night, you're going to deal with loud and obnoxious people at any theater, this one is no different. read more

Not many places in Abilene to see movies and this place is fairly average but you take what you can get, I guess. Not a fan of the outdoor box office. The concession line is a bit different, too, but I actually kinda like it. The theaters are decent enough but the interior and exterior of the bldg is a bit dated. If the exterior was refaced (not just repainted) and the parking lot was re-striped, it would help first impressions quite a bit. This place just looks very tired and uninviting. read more

This theatre has a completely ridiculous policy for underage kids seeing rated R movies; they must have a parent or adult accompanying them during the movie. They claim it's their corporate policy however I have a sneaking suspicion that this is merely a ploy to get another full price ticket out of you. Ok so it's Valentines Day weekend on a Saturday night at 7:30 and these boneheads only have one half of the concession stand open. The line wraps around all the way to the other side. Last week I went to see Magic Mike. I was very pleased with this theatre considering it is Abilene. Being in Dallas the last 14 years, I am spoiled to big, luxury theatres. The screens and sound are very good and clean. It was 102 out, so the air conditioning was working well. I am very hot natured. i suggest if you take a light sweater if you are the opposite. Like all concession's the prices are nuts. 5.25 for a large drink. I did not get popcorn. A small is more than a large drink. The staff seemed very professional and polite. I am very pleased with my overall experience. The movie is not for the faint of heart. I was so disappointed with the plot and this role did nothing for Matthew. He plays a goofy very abstract crodile dundee meets picasso type role. However, the men dancing was very entertaining. Channing Tatum did a wildy exotic job. Please be advised there is a lot of cursing and nudity. I would recommend you wait until this is out to rent instead of going to the theatre though. read more
