It was serendipitous that my husband and I decided to visit Celebration 20 years ago on one of our bi-annual Disney Vacation Club trips. After eating at Columbia Restaurant, we took a stroll around the town imagining what it would be like to live there. We were in our late 30s/early 40s, living in PA and Celebration seemed like an impossible dream for two people just building their careers. We stopped for a bit to drool over the real estate listings in Imagination Realty's window. A friendly voice behind us introduced herself as Kathleen Carlson. Her smile was bright and infectious; her voice melodious (reminiscent of a Disney Princess). We had much to chat about as Kathleen had once lived in our neck of the woods. It was a chance meeting, but one that would forge a 20-year "stay-in-touch" friendship. Every now and then we would reach out to her, or she would reach out to us. A few times, we would combine our DVC trips with a half day of house hunting in Celebration. But it was never the "right" moment: careers, illnesses, family ties, births, deaths, economics...something always got in the way of making our Celebration dream a reality. Fast forward to early September of 2022: my cell phone rang, and I saw Imagination Realty on the screen. I picked up and Kathleen talked excitedly for about 2 minutes non-stop. My only reply was "hang on a sec; I have to get John on the line so you can repeat everything you just said. She laughed and then happily repeated herself when John was on. Bottom line: there was a house available that checked all our boxes. Were we still interested in Celebration? Serendipity struck again as 3 days later we were booked for a long weekend in FL. (Admittedly, it had been 2.5 years since we traveled ANYWHERE, thanks to Covid so we were desperate to go SOMEWHERE and this seemed like a good excuse.) I remember thinking that even if we didn't like the house, at least we could enjoy being somewhere other than our own back yard. We saw 4 houses in Celebration during our first afternoon and serendipity had us both zero in on only one of them (an amazing feat for 2 people who are generally split on everything!). We asked to see it again the next evening. Kathleen met us there with a bottle of wine and 4 glasses (for the seller's realtor and us). She and the other realtor settled on the front porch with a glass of wine while we explored the house on our own and imagined living there. (Where would we put the piano? This rug has to go! Look - a wine fridge!) After a bit we joined them on the porch. Before too long, the owner came home and joined us out there as well. Serendipitously we ended up chatting like old friends until after 11 PM! It felt like home. After a side trip to St Augustine (to see another house just for the heck of it), we made an offer on the Celebration home. In short order it got accepted and closing was scheduled for the end of September (serendipity struck again as we had already planned a trip to FL that week and had one day scheduled as "free" - i.e. no park tickets). Kathleen and her team expertly and cheerfully helped us through each phase of the experience and it was a great comfort to us knowing they had our backs. (Kathleen even found the PERFECT realtor in PA for us who - serendipitously - happened to be a neighbor who sold our hme in 3 showings.) We moved into our new home the weekend before Thanksgiving - amazing since just 2 months prior moving wasn't even on our radar! But having true professionals like those at Imagination Realty working with us made all the difference - Kathleen was a great sounding board for us, and her team was able to answer every one of our questions. Almost 3 months in now, we love it here in Celebration and we are pleased that Kathleen had the imagination needed to get us here!

Whether this was a system error or something else, the bigger issue was trying to get someone to explain what happened. Reaching a live representative is incredibly difficult. Calls are routed through an AI phone system that doesn't make it easy to speak with a person, even when the issue is time-sensitive. After multiple phone calls, I was still unable to reach the community manager directly. I even visited the community office during business hours, only to find no one available. When customer service said they would transfer me to someone in the office, the call simply rang without being answered. The homeowner website is also not very user-friendly. Important account information is difficult to navigate, and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. When homeowners are trying to resolve billing or account issues, the portal should make the process easier--not add to the confusion. I understand companies are incorporating AI into customer service, and technology can absolutely improve efficiency when implemented well. However, there needs to be a reliable and accessible way to reach a human representative, especially when dealing with account discrepancies, payments, or potential collections. Technology should enhance customer service, not become a barrier to it. I hope Home Access takes these concerns seriously and invests in improving both the homeowner portal and the accessibility of its support staff. Homeowners deserve clear communication, an intuitive website, and the ability to speak with someone when urgent issues arise.

We signed a lease with them on 2020, we renewed it on 2021 and was supposed to end it on October 2022, turns out the owner sold the apartment and terminated the lease early, they gave little notice about it, just a phone call and they turned our life upside down in less than 24 hours, they started a 60 day mark right away, given the current situation in the country where every property is really expensive we didn't have any place to go, we were not prepared for this, all that we asked for was to have our security deposit back and Megan told us they were going to proceed as a regular move out, if they saw defects or damage they were still going to take money out, not only they left us homeless, they couldn't even have a little human decency to at least let us keep at least part of the amount. I just wish I could post the conversations we have exchanged so people could see them for what they are, they treat you like you are a piece of garbage and are incapable of sympathizing with any situation, they even told us we could leave early if we wanted to like we didn't repeat countless of times that "WE DIDN'T HAVE ANYWHERE ELSE TO GO!", they offered us another apartment with a higher rent where we had to pay all entry fees and deposits, all over again, as if they didn't force us out in the first place. They just wanted to get us out of the apartment as soon as possible so they could start charging more to whoever is next. I get it, business is business, but you would expect that at least they treat you with some respect. That doesn't end up there, for the weeks to come, Megan or Debi Meyer would send us emails asking if we found something, if we wanted to go out earlier, repeatedly. Toward the last few weeks we spent there, Debi Meyer said they had to go in and make an "inspection", that same afternoon she sent us pictures she took all over the apartment, our bed, our bathroom, the kitchen, pictures with all our stuff in it saying where is the bed that was here when you moved in? Where's the TV? The couch? Where's this? Where's that??? First, everything she asked for was there, second, she wasn't even in the picture when we moved in so what the hell does she know? I'm never met a landlord that made an inspection prior the renters moving out, and I'm talking this was over a month before the move out date. She didn't even give us a chance to fix whatever was wrong. The amount of disrespect coming for them is unmatched, we ended up moving month earlier because we simply couldn't deal with this harassment and disrespect anymore, we still didn't have nowhere to go so we had to temporarily move in with a relative. Of course, they took until the last cent of the security deposit, we left the house as it was, I can tell you that everything they had to "fix" wasn't worth the full amount, but once again they took advantage of that, we just really wanted to be done with them. I really hope no one else go through a similar experience because of them, save yourself the trouble. Funny note, I ended the electricity service the same date we moved out, Debi Meyer said that she thought that we would keep it on "out of courtesy"...the audacity...after everything her and her company made us go through THEY are asking for courtesy?
