I can't say enough great things about this organization. I received a quote from a competitor in March, agreed to have a chimney cap installed and then waited for six weeks only to hear nothing from the competitor. Upon throwing in the towel, I called Bob at Century and we set up an appointment for that week. Gary and Josh came out in the pouring rain (seriously, it was that really bad day about three weeks ago and I half expected them to tell me they couldn't do the work). Instead they jumped out of the truck, explained every aspect of what they were going to do, advised how the cap they were installing was guaranteed and much better as far as it's durability (inner mounting instead of pressure mounting on the exterior of the crown)(far less likely to blow off). They got to work and were done before the coffee was brewed. Add to that the fact that they came in 30% lower than the previous guy and than other over the phone quotes. While they were here, we spoke of other home repairs I may need (none of which they could do) and provided numerous contacts for organizations they trusted through the years of their business. They showed genuine concern and care. In fact, they stopped by about a week later on an unrelated matter and noticed a bit of flashing a little off-kilter and were happy to fix it on the spot without an appointment. When I think about my friendships, I have a tendency to categorize friends into three groups. 1. Those that I see once a year or so that I am friendly with and might grab a drink with once in a while but that's about it. 2. Those that I see regularly and would enjoy an overnight camping trip with without getting tired of being around. 3. Those that I could call and would help me move and/or bail me out of jail immediately and without question. If I categorized businesses like this, Gary, Josh and Bob at Century Chimney would fit squarely into 3. Hell, while it didn't come to this, because they worked so quickly, on their return visit, I had a conflict that would have warranted me leaving at a certain time and I told Gary that I had no problem leaving them alone at my house to lock up once they were done. Good guys I trust at fair prices that didn't try to upsell me on anything at all...it doesn't get much better than that. read more

I aways try to buy local anyway, but someone who has grown up here, raised a family here, knows the types of houses in all the neighborhoods and their unique quirks...it's incredibly helpful to have Gary at the top of the food chain, to advise his guys!
