They called me in 20 minutes after my appointment time. The dentist came in about 10 seconds after I sat down and eyeballed my mouth for 15 seconds. Then the tech grabbed a tool and started in. It was the most painful teeth cleaning I have ever experienced. I actually had to tell her to slow down since she was poking my gums so often with the pointy scrapper. I'm a self pay, and they said they didn't accept credit cards, only cash. No problem, I had the $160 bucks. Then they said they didn't have cash for change. I don't think they did anything right. I recommend you ask what the approximate cost of a procedure will be before you make an appointment. I do not have insurance. I had lost a filling from a molar. I had an x ray of just that tooth, no drilling or novocaine was needed... just replaced the filling. The cost was $344.00..... read more

POOR FRONT OFFICE, good dentistry. Called to confirm regular 6 month appointment in Aug 2020. Did not show their schedule. Gave me new appt. Received bill indicating Insurance did not pay for checkup-cleaning. Called them they said not to pay would check with the insurance personnel and call me back. After 3 weeks I called them. Was told appt was too soon, not 6 months from previous so I had to pay. When asked how to prevent this from happening again I was told that I would have to check with my insurance to be sure procedures were approved. That is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. 6 years ago I went to century dental for some work. I was a very nervous patient. When the dentist injected the lidocaine, she injected it directly into my bloodstream and I had a reaction like a panic attack. The dentist was annoyed, left the room, came back and talked to me like a child...made me feel like I was nothing. She finished the filling (which fell out soon after) and I was officially terrified of the dentist. 6 years later I found a good dentist, and I have no problems going to the dentist...plus I found out what happened back then. So apparently, I am not allergic to the anesthetic, it was injected into my bloodstream. Causing me to have severe panic-like symptoms. But instead of sitting with me and helping me feel safe...the dentist laughed, talked to me like a misbehaving toddler, and was visibly annoyed that I messed with her schedule. Then prescribed me downers to take next time I came in for work. Additionally, I payed for 2 procedures they never did...and they refused to refund me. Stay away. Far, far away. read more

I have been a patient at Century Dental for several years. A crown slipped off a tooth. They X-rayed the tooth and recemented the crown. The total appointment was about 15 minutes. They charged my insurance company $251. Next time I'll buy the cement and do it myself. read more

During my visit in May, I was told my insurance was covering the cost of my appt and the x-rays. I reminded them that I had talked to my insurance and they were NOT covering my x-rays because I had already had them taken 6 months ago. (You only get them once every 3 years.) The receptionist told me not to worry and that I wasn't going to be charged for them. Well, 2 months later. I recieved a bill in the mail!!! When I went in and spoke with the same people during my first visit, they were much more helpful and removed my charges. (This happened after I told them I had contacted BBB and wrote a few reviews.) I came in as a new patient. They took me in right away. My insurance paper work did not take more than 5 mins and the dentist called me in. They are very fast and efficient. I haven't been to the dentist in a while and I knew I needed 3 fillings. I had a chipped tooth in the front where I needed a filling. They filled in my tooth and completely fixed the chipped area. It looks great. I had all fillings done within 45 mins. The time went by so fast because I was watching tv and it didn't hurt. I will be getting more work done there. This place is excellent, my wife recommended (told me) to go in and I had great service. Dr Castor was the dentist that helped me out and her assistant Sandy, and we had a blast even though I had a bunch of work that needed to be done, including a crown. I wasn't in any discomfort and I was able to get everything on very flexibly. From what I understand as a new patient, the Dentist there now acquired the practice and it looks like they are implementing some great innovations including text message reminders. As a business own I can understand how difficult it can be to take on a business that was there previously but I must say it looks like the ladies there are really doing good. They participated in helping those kids less fortunately and any business that has foundations like that are great ones in my book. read more

First time here and I saw Dr. Chi....I have an extreme fear of dentists it's been many many years since I've been and I had cracked my tooth and finally had to give in and face my fears! I made sure they knew of my fears up front and everyone was very nice and understanding and made me feel comfortable. I'm a new patient to this office and I couldn't have been more pleased. I LOVE MY DENTIST! Not many people can say that, but I do. The office is beautiful and full of friendly staff, but more importantly as someone who has had major oral work in the past, they are gentle. I think its normal to be a bit anxious at a new office, but I was immediately put at ease. My appointment promptly started and I sat back and was able to watch tv (not a necessity, but an absolute luxury, the cable package was more extensive than what I have at home) and relax as my exam was performed. I like this place a lot, but because my parents moved away, my reasons of traveling further northwest have all but disappeared. Pretty good service and very careful to explain the procedures and what is being done. They also offer the ability to pay in installments and send text message reminders of appointments. My only issue was the last time I had a cavity filled, it had fallen out within 4 months - not sure what the process would have been, but because the distance is far for me, I didn't bother to refill it. read more

I think the reviewer two down made a mistake, because he mentioned some office in Lake in the Hills, and Century Dental office is in Huntley. I hate when people don't pay attention and they mess up somebody else's reputation. Anyway, enough about that and lets concentrate on Century Dental in Huntley. Both, my husband and I use Century Dental. We've been using their services for almost 4 years. The staff there is great! Doctors, higenists and front desk associates are all nice and caring. Their prices are very reasonable and they will work with the patient's budget. They don't force you to get any dental work done unless it's absolutely necessary. They offer payment plans to ease the burden. They have variety of doctors to choose from. I recommended Century Dental to couple of my friends and they seem to like it too. this place wanted to give me 18 xrays for being a new patient. They never told me how many xrays are required with a full set. I have been going to the dentist my whole life 2 times a year and I think that it's outrageous that nobody told me how many I needed ahead of time. Not to mention the radiation. Never mind all the blood I saw all over when walking out from another patient. VERY unprofessional. They also intend to bill my insurance company in FULL even after I walked out after 8 xrays were taken. No wonder why insurance is so HIGH. Then they want to argue about it on top of that. Not exceptionally sensitive to their elderly patients on fixed incomes. Brought in my 82 y.o. terminally ill mother in late Feb for a tooth ache. Exam and x-ray determined a cracked tooth. Referred to an oral surgeon for an extraction. Fine. Less than one month later, another tooth ache for my mom. Diagnosis: cracked tooth which was obvious to me when I looked in her mouth prior to visiting the practice. Not sure why they didn't catch this issue three weeks earlier. Another $124 charge for less than 5 mins spent with the dentist. They were kind enough to take off 10%, but seems to be a bit of a gouge that they would turn around less than a month later and charge her for an exam again. Not my first choice to return to for my mother's dental care. read more

DO NOT GO THERE, DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! I can't believe how absolutely awful they are. Uncaring, unprofessional, insensitive, thoughtless, and downright deceitful. I went in at the end of the year to see Doctor Huffman to discuss a "plan" that we'd be working toward once my insurance kicked in January 1, 2016. They even submitted an estimate for the work to my insurance, so I assumed that everyone was on the same page. SURPRISE!! he's moving to Arizona. He said to come in and meet Doctor Huft to move forward with the "plan" and SURPRISE!! she spent a whole 3 minutes with me before having her assistant give me a card for a referral to a specialist in LAKE GENEVA without any explanation whatsoever. I had to Google to even find out what this specialist did!! She never even came back into the room. Then SURPRISE!!! it's going to cost $30,000 (yep, you read that right) to fix my teeth. They crush people's hopes without a blink of an eye. I left the office twice in tears, and they couldn't have cared less. I wouldn't trust them to even BRUSH my teeth. Had a 3:00 pm appointment yesterday. Got there 5 minutes early , and checked in. I sat there and waited and waited. After 30 minutes of waiting, I told myself I will give them to 3:30 to at least acknowledge that I was in their waiting room. Waited the last 5 minutes, 35 in total, heard not a peep from the staff, so I walked out. Not professional. I left work early for this appointment and was forced to sit in the waiting room for nothing. Obviously, Century Dental does not respect their patients time. If they would have simply said, sorry but we fell a bit behind schedule, I would have understood, but nothing from the staff pissed me off. I will find a new dentist, should not be to hard. I seriously love Century Dental. I've been going there for several years (five maybe?), and I've never had anything but a great experience. The hygienists are all very professional and thorough, and Dr. Castor is great! The staff has also always been super helpful and accommodating. I decided I wanted to get my teeth whitened for my wedding, and they shifted things around a bit so they could make my impressions right after my cleaning, saving me an extra trip. I went to Century Dental as they were a met life provider. I saw Dr Huffman who said i needed a crown and core build up. Waited two months no response on pre estimate , office never sent it. Went back new xray , this time Dr Laura Lucka said, ohthis is terrible I cant fix this this will fall apart and it will be so painful, yes so PAINFUL, you need a crown and build up. I asked dont you have to remove old filling to do that and she said yes and told Xray tech get the best picture for insurance company, Told me the filling was broke which it wasnt and pounded on my tooth with the back of a instrument over and over asking does this hurt!! I will never ever go back there. Yep it cost me 64.00 for no treatment over four months!! There charge was 1570.00 my out of network dentist 1000.00 work done same day as appt. The Dr. acted like a frazzled nut, also told me my teeth are very old fro my age, my dentist got a laugh out of that one. They were appaulded any dentist would tell someone they would be in A lot of pain! The only pain I feel is the 64.00 I gave them for no services. read more
