Even though this movie theater was here long before the one at the Palladio, I still think of this spot as Folsom's "secret", lesser-known, theater. And if I do go see a movie these days, I check the showtimes here first. So this theater is directly across the street from the Folsom Outlets, tucked in the back. It's walking distance from a Taco Express, a Filipino eatery, and Indian restaurant, a pizza parlor, a bar, and a few other restaurants/eateries. It's a great location for those that would rather eat real food before or after the movie than spending $67.38 on a large popcorn and a Coke. I wouldn't go so far as to refer to this theater as a "no-thrills" movie experience, but it definitely doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Palladio or the Regal in El Dorado Hills. While they do have a few sporadic 3-D movie showings, you're out of luck if you're looking for an IMAX, D Box, or ScreenX experience. With that being said, the tickets here are definitely cheaper than the aforementioned theaters. A matinee here runs about $10 during the weekday, which is about $7-8 cheaper than a similar showtime at the Palladio, for the same movie. The concession stand is also more basic as well. I can't recall all their options off the top of my head, but they do have plenty of popcorn, drinks, and candy. If that's not going to do it for you, the Filipino place next door is really good. Definitely a more satisfying option than nachos or a hot dog. Five stars seems appropriate for this venue. If it was more expensive, I would bring down the rating. But if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on movie tickets, don't like crowds, don't want to stress about parking, love Filipino food, and you're looking to do some retail therapy shopping nearby, give this theatre a try. read more

Haven't been to see a movie in a while. They had a huge screen in the theater we were in. All the chairs are new and quite comfy. The prices of the concession items are still outrageous sadly. Even with the 20% off for being movie club members, it's still very hard to pay those prices for a soda and popcorn. This Century/Cinemark location needs a refresh. Maybe I have been spoiled by other Cinemark locations with reclining seats in every auditorium, but going back to the older, non-reclining chairs felt pretty underwhelming in comparison. Also, the layout in Theater 1 is a bit odd. There is a lower section and a very elevated upper section, separated by a tall staircase that runs across the entire width of the room. The upper section sits so high that it is nearly level with the top of the screen, which makes you feel like you are looking down at the movie. Overall, not the most comfortable or immersive viewing experience. Maybe some of their other auditoriums have better layouts and seating, but the non-XD auditoriums seem to be all older style from what I have seen. read more

Came in for a 6:30pm on a Saturday for a special Star Trek double feature. TOS with Khan and the motion picture Wrath of Khan. It was great to see these on the big screen one after the other. This theatre looks in need of a remodel. It was not very well arranged and the advance order tickets and concessions was difficult to find. It was fun to watch these two with the crowd that was there. During intermission there was quite a discussion amoung the audience. : ) This was a great double feature!! read more

Came here on a Tuesday night to watch Toy Story 5. Paid only $7. Plenty of parking in the front. Big theater rooms, small arcade area with claw machines. Plenty of cashiers to buy popcorn and snacks. They have a lot of stalls for bathrooms. Only down side is that they don't have recliner seats. So the theater room that we were in had so many seats and there was a lot of people at the movies. But chairs weren't too bad. Unlimited refills for drinks for purchase. read more

Came to Century 14 Folsom on $5 Tuesday to watch Dhurandhar! Tickets are cheaper compared to most places, and the theater is simple with no gimmicks. It is definitely on the older side, which is reflected in the pricing. The theater itself was fine, but the bathrooms weren't very clean. It made it very difficult to adjust my legs without accidentally kicking the seats in front of me. I'd say this theater is as basic as it could be; go to just watch a movie and leave. I went to to see Wicked and the standard format theater I went to was very old and decrepit. The screen was small and in bad shape, the audio was probably the worst theater audio I have ever heard, and the seating was very uncomfortable. I think this is the reason tickets are cheaper overall at this location, but it wasn't worth it, I'd not go back. read more

Today Aug 5 went to see spider man for the 6 pm showing first off no one to check my tickets on my phone then the was only 2 hot dogs no pizza and the are 3 of us. I figured that being in Folsom and it is spider man new movie they would have all food items stocked. All the icee machines were watery! Every flavor. The popcorn was not warm and tasted bland, and icing on the cake was sitting down in my seat and it was BROKEN. The seat caves in to the right pretty drastically and so I sat crooked the whole movie. The bathrooms were clean though and the workers were nice. It's tough going to the new style recliner chair and plenty of space and clear view is the screen theatre style to this. My view was partially blocked by someone in front of me, and I'm tall, the seats rocked back barely brought to k ow it wasn't just a loose seat, the bottom cushion was confortable for about 20 minutes, and it's cramped. Drove out to Folsom today to run some errands and decided to take our daughter to see Inside Out 2. The theater was definitely on the older side, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The theater seats definitely need to be updated, but they were still comfortable even though they didn't recline or have a moveable tray. I liked that they still have an arcade and the popcorn was very fresh! The whole theater was also very clean and the staff were attentive and friendly. The only other issue was that they do not have a bar area or offer any type of alcohol which I feel is the norm at theaters nowadays. They do have newer theaters in Folsom like the Palladio and Luxe that offer it. If you're looking for a decent theater to check out a movie though, this Cinemark will do just fine! read more

I've gone too many Cinemark movie theatres and this one is the worse. Came here to watch Lilo & Stitch and the seats need to be updated. It does not recline like the newer ones and not enough space. The screen is very small and needs to be wider for everyone can view it properly. When I first walked in, we had to scan and print our own tickets which there were no signs that said that so we were lost. Ordered drinks and we can't pour our own drink because sometimes people like to mix drinks. No hot food out like other theatres. No merch and not enough options for snacks and candy. Would not recommend to come here unless you want out dated movie theatre. Popcorn is cold as well. (Same review by me on Google) read more

It is a basic no thrills movie theater. Yes, it is a little dated compared to more modern theaters, but the pricing reflects it. Went to a matinee on a Saturday. The theater was very clean and staff were friendly. Did not get any food at the concession area because that is how I roll. So I cannot rate that part of the theater. The location is good. You can visit the Folsom Outlet Mall or get some food at one of the chain restaurants nearby before or after the show. I liked it and would definitely return for another matinee. read more

I went here and had such a great time. My wife and I decided to go on an early movie date after watching Empire Strikes back at home we saw Return of the Jedi had a 40th anniversary and the movie was playing on the big screen...Say what I've been to this theater maybe once before..This is an old school theater no fancy recliner,but super soft leather seats..No beer or wine here,but they had plenty of goodies like M&Ms and popcorn and sodas and Sweedish fish.. The place was almost empty and the workers were super nice. When Veronica scanned my phone for the tickets she quickly told us were out theater was. Then Joe checked our yummies out that we bought at the snack bar. I must say this was the best popcorn I have had in quite sometime. We watched Return of the Jedi big screen and there were only three other people in the theater..say whhhhhat..how awesome..after the movie we got more soda and decided to watch Dungeons and Dragons. This movie had eight other people still not super full by any means and this movie was refreshing and action packed. Overall this theater had everything to our likings... Private Watch Party We booked a private watch party for my family (to continue with our Mother's Day celebration). All the theaters elsewhere nearby were filled. This was a last minute booking and this theater and room was the only available auditorium for our group. We got lucky. Our time slot was at 7:10p. The process was actually simple and took me less than 5 minutes: Choose a theater, select a showtime, pick a movie, and checkout. Movie selections included your ​choice of all-time classic movies or new releases. We hosted a private watch party for my family... party of 16 (you can have up to 20 guests). That's plenty of space for physical distancing but my watch party were all family members so we all still kinda sat close together. LoL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At checkout there is also an option to add food and drinks and have your order delivered to your seat OR pick up at the concessions counter. If you're a Movie Club member SCORE! because you get 20% off concessions at every visit! The Auditorium in this location did not have the fancy reclining seats but the theater was clean and sanitized. My family had a great time! We really want to applaud & thank the staff at the Century Folsom. We had a group of 7 to see Moana and when the power went out, because of the storm, they were incredibly professional, kind & patient!! Earlier this morning after entering the theater I came across a younger female (either brunette or strawberry blonde, don't care) and she repeatedly in a disrespectful tone of voice asked me " do you have tickets?" As if to interrogate me. I reassured her I did and searched my phone for them which made her irritated and impatient. She then pointed her scrawny finger towards the opposite end of the theater and said" go over there and scan it" in a vain attempt to command me as if I was her step child whom she disdained. I went to the scanner closest to me and she was still yelling at me but more so in an entitled arrogant manner as her unkept male coworker watched. Perhaps she was trying to impress him? I asked her " aren't they both the same ? I was talking about the scanners for their tickets which also warn you that if you touch their paper you can get chemicals known to cause cancer. (We never had that issue years prior) So she backed down and said " yes" . I reconsidered giving them my business bc it's not worth paying the current price of a ticket and possibly getting cancer in the process and enduring abuse from Cinderella' s stepmother ( that's how she behaved) when I can what something from the comfort of my own home, save gas, save $$ on my own delicious food and not be badgered or abused by anyone. So as she hid behind the popcorn talking with her coworker I decided to leave and get my $$ back. Go somewhere where they appreciate you choosing to keep them in business. Remember they're working in a local movie theater in Folsom and not in Hollywood as an actual actress contractually get paid by WB for millions of $$$. For our 1 year anniversary a couple weeks ago my boyfriend and I decided to celebrate by watching one of our favorite Avengers character's movies: Black Widow! The seats were very comfortable, reclined, the screen was large and great quality and the armrest went up so we could cuddle while watching! One of my fave- alien invasion type of movies. A teen adult sci-Fi but just wanted to get out of the house watch something late since I wasn't sleepy. This theater have always been my go-to. Clean, comfortable and price is just right. Nothing fancy, nor unsatisfactory. Got our popcorns, coffee and voila off to the movie room. Setting The movie theater is located near a variety of excellent food establishments and has ample parking. It may be a bit older, but all the amenities are kept clean and well-maintained. Food I have mostly tried the Coke Icee and popcorn at the theater. One issue that I consistently have is that the popcorn is always cold for some reason. Experience The theater has large screens and, over the years, I have not encountered any issues with the shows on multiple screens. Pro It is a very affordable movie option compared to other screens in Folsom. It is not overly crowded even during blockbuster hits. Cons The only major issue I would point out is the cold popcorn, which somewhat detracts from the experience, particularly when paying an excessive amount for the candy.
