Went to see the new Odyssey movie, which did not disappoint! We decided to see it here for the comfortable seating and ability to order food and drinks. We purchased our tickets 2 weeks early online (very convenient), and were happy to enjoy front row dead center without anyone around us. We were in the movie. :) Staff were friendly but aloof in how they carried themselves in the lobby area. Seemed like a lot on mingling about. Bathrooms were clean but the one by theatre #1 had multiple sink faucets barely attached to the counter. A little janky for a nice theatre. Since we were front row, you access the hard wood or vinyl flooring and well, all I can say is yuck. Sticky, like make noise as you walk sticky in #1 last night. Service at the bar was timely, and the servers in the theatre were professional and quick. Margarita pizza was pleasant, drinks were great. Extra butter popcorn did not come out hot, more luke warm. We ordered the coconut shrimp at the bar, and the shrimp were definitely cooked, albeit a little tougher than I like. We wanted to order the mozzarella sticks but we were joking about what we thought the texture of those overcooked would be. The experience, a great movie, and pricing could have made it a 5. Had to take a point for the shrimp, bathroom maintenance needed and the sticky floor. We did wish we could have picked up our popcorn fresh, but we understood the style of the facility is not normal theater experience. Lastly, we really did appreciate the theatre on screen telling people to be respectful, remove crying kids, and think of everyone's experience around you. read more

The movie itself (The Mandalorian & Grogu) was fantastic, and there is ample parking outside, but this theater has completely gone downhill. It used to be upscale, but it is now downright disgusting. ​When I sat down, my seat was filthy with food stuck everywhere. I literally had to force the staff to come out and wash my seat down before I could even sit. The rest of the theater and the carpets are just as dirty. The bathrooms were completely unacceptable--gross, poorly maintained, and entirely out of toilet paper. ​To top it off, the food and service were horrendous. I paid for a hummus board that used to be nice, but it arrived sloppily thrown together in a bowl with overcooked, dehydrated chicken jerky on top. They were also entirely out of the milkshake I actually wanted. ​Stamping a "premium" label on a building and charging luxury prices while delivering a run-down experience and terrible service is trash business practice. read more

Was recommended this place and it was definitely an experience! My friend and I went on a tuesday and luckily got the discounted tix which made this extra worth it. The place is hugeee with plenty of seating. Not to mention my drink was gigantic and lasted me throughout the entire movie. You can order food during the movie and we got the meal for 2. Super filling as you get an appetizer two entrees and a dessert. Seats are super comfortable and the servers weren't as big of a distraction as I thought. Would recommend!! read more

I've wanting to go here for years - but distance was always the excuse to not swing by. Not anymore! Booked a reservation online - simple. Ample parking late on a weekday evening. We were greeted right away and got our tickets. When walking in, the ambiance was really nice. Very clean. There weren't too many people but I see that it can accommodate a lot of people with all the seating. After finding our seat, we immediately went for the 2 entree deal. I ordered chicken and waffles and a pitcher. For the side, we got nachos. Food: it was okay. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting larger chicken strips. The maple syrup was very rich (good thing) but I probably will stick with a burger or other normal items in the future when I swing by. Plenty of nachos. Another few very minor gripes - no reclining seats and space to place all the food. That being said, the service was phenomenal! Although there were only 20-30 people watching the movie at the time, I saw all the workers running around and were very attentive + picking up empty plates and taking additional orders. We went to see You, Me & Tuscany and we will not visit this theatre again. We thought it would be a luxury theatre but it is worse than non-luxury theatre. We got there 30 min early, as requested, and then we had to sit through about 1 hour of previews. If you need to come early to find your assigned seat, the official ads should start at that time, not the unofficial local ads. We spent probably 3.5 hours at this theatre for a movie that was 1 hr 45 min. The food and drinks all came out before the official adds even started. I wanted another drink about halfway through the movie and it was brought out with maybe 20 minutes of the movie left, so after the initial service, getting anything took a long time. During the whole movie, one of the waiters did not bend or try to lower himself at all so his head kept showing its shadow at the bottom of the screen and it took up maybe 1/4 of the screen and he did this often so we saw his head a lot during the movie. I would say with all of this in mind, the service was actually poor. At the start of the movie, the whole theatre lost power. The seats were not cushy and you had to throw your back back to recline the seats as there were no buttons and the back does not go back, the legs just pop up a little bit. We got the 2 for $35 deal, which was a good deal. The cheese fries were really good and we would get again. The chicken tenders and fries were just okay and the white cheddar pasta was grainy and not good at all. I would stick to appetizers here. Overall, we just would not visit this theatre again. I would rather spend more money to go to a much nicer theatre, stay home and wait for the movie to come out, or go to a different theatre for the same price that is closer to me that does not advertise itself as a luxury theatre, in that order. read more

Haven't been here in quite a while. Came back twice to watch movies and use our GC. Service definitely exceeds expectations. I love how the servers are attentive to each customers needs. Please remind me never to see a movie here in the summer ever again! The theater is so warm, (hot), inside that I was sweating throughout the entire 3 hour movie. This is the second time I went to this theater during the summer and both times I thought I was in hell. Ugh! read more

Our server was really good and accommodating. We did the $35 dollar deal (one appetizer, 2 entrees and for $5 more you can add a dessert). We got popcorn, which has a slightly richer butter flavor than other theaters, in my opinion. My sliders were good, but I'm super sensitive to salt and mine needed a lot of my Moscow Mule to wash it down! Fries are seasoned and soo good! We also ordered beignets (not part of the $5 dessert option) but still totally worth it. The chairs have been upgraded since I last came here, but the reclining is clunky and loud (although is it louder than the mechanical sound of holding down the button...not sure ) also doesn't recline as much as other chairs. Studio Movie Grill is my personal favorite choice when going to the movies. I've been here quite a few times now. You sit down and when you're ready to order you press a button on your tray. The service is always good. When there are issues the staff is quick to resolve them. The food is pretty good too. I usually order the chili lime chicken wrap, without the chicken. My husband gets a variety of items but recently it has been the wings! The seats are super comfortable. They recline allowing you to really relax while watching the movie. You also have the tray to eat and drink on. Overall, the experience is well worth it! read more

First of all, the movie Sinners is worth seeing! I like the concept of drinking and dining while watching a movie. Ambiance 3/5- it was typical. I can't put my finger on it but sitting at a table, eating and watching a movie, sounds better than the actual experience. After I ate, I wanted to recline a bit. But I was stuck at the table in a dining chair. Service 4/5-it was good but we felt rushed to order because our server told us he would be off work soon and wanted to put our order in. Food 3/5 - the cocktails were strong, I had the Peach Smash. The popcorn appetizer was cool as in cold, like it had been sitting out somewhere, which was odd. The food was good but we only had sliders and ghost pepper chicken sliders with fries. Can't mess that up too much. It wasn't a bad experience but I'd would've rather sat in a reclining chair with a cocktail and warm, buttery popcorn. read more

First time here. Loved the waffles! Didn't really care for the cheese fries, I was expecting jalapeno cheese not just plain cheese. Everything else we ordered was good. We forgot to get popcorn but we ordered so much food, it would've been tossed out by end of the movie. I liked that the seat reclined. Only downside is our empty glasses were not removed from the tray when they came to drop off the next round of drinks. So our tray was full of trays, empty glasses and full glasses. And we were told 25 minutes before end of movie, they'll come ask if we wanted to add anything else and bring us our check. The service was great I haven't been here for months and forgot what they have to serve here so I had a lot of questions quickly. I showed up early enough to ask them all so I splurged a lot and got the barbecue burger, fries, and mac & cheese fall by the brownie Sunday dessert The burger and fries were really good, but could've used some lettuce or tomatoes. The mac & cheese was not great because it was just plain craft mac & cheese instead of like a crispy brown mac & cheese that would go really good on a burger but the amount of phrase made up for it although I still wasn't very satisfied with the desert because even though the ice cream was really good, the brownie was hard as a rock kind of like a biscotti cookie and it didn't even taste like brownies, but they did top it off with a nice cinnamon chip. I sat in a really good spot and was very comfortable although I think they were having audio issues because it didn't get very loud until the end. I forgot to mention that I also got the soft pretzels bites with butter, salt and cheese. and they were cooked perfectly to a nice brown crisp, which is why I think they deserve three stars because the food was half-and-half but the movie wasn't too expensive in any case I'll definitely be back to order the pretzel bites the barbecue burger with lettuce and tomatoes this time and I might try a different dessert. If not, I'll probably just get the ice cream. read more

You initially think it'll be a cool experience... until you're actually there and think to yourself that it's not all that glamorous. The concept seems cool, you don't have to get up from your seat and miss the movie if you want a bite to eat. In my experience, ordering your food and having someone bring it to you during the movie is worse. First off, you can't really focus on the movie if there's servers often walking by or in front of you to attend to other viewers. I guess that's the whole point of the experience, so I won't dock them for that. However, just the overall state of the place seems like it could have used an upgrade-- when I went, the leather seats were visibly cracked and torn through (from use is what I assume), and the tables were sticky. After a while, my back started to hurt because the chairs don't lean back much at all. Glad I got the chance to experience this place, safe to say I'll ever only be here once. read more

After giving SMG around go, I'd prefer to see a movie in theaters elsewhere. Generally, my biggest issue with SMG is the lack of comfort. The chairs barely recline, and my back hurt after sitting through a 2-hour movie. My partner also commented that the screen quality wasn't very sharp, so I wouldn't recommend reserving the top row and think the middle row may offer a better experience. SMG has excellent service, but it's somewhat inconsistent. You don't have the same server from start to finish - just whoever is available when you hit the buzzer on your tray. I almost felt bad, given how inefficient their operations are in my opinion; however, I will say that everyone working there was pleasant and helpful. The theater was also relatively clean and doesn't feel dark and dingy. For top dollar, it would be nice to see options that are more elevated than concession stand food. We ordered the loaded potato skins, coconut chicken, mozzarella sticks, and kids Mac and cheese. My partner commented that his entree tasted burnt, and mine was okay but nothing memorable. I'd only recommend drinks if you choose to indulge here. read more

We went to Studio Movie Grill in Rocklin for a daytime movie with the kids and some friends. We sat at the very top and had the whole row to ourselves the theater wasnt very full, which is always a plus. The convenience of ordering food and snacks right from your seat is definitely one of the best features here. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, it's worth it for the ease and not having to miss part of the movie. We ordered two large popcorns, which was more than enough for all of us to share. It was good and had just the right amount of butter. Our server even impressed us by bringing us trays to use the share the popcorn without us asking. The only downside was that the theater was pretty warm. It felt like the AC kept cycling on and off -- it would start cooling down and then get warm again, which got a little uncomfortable at times. Overall, it's a fun, family-friendly place to watch a movie, and the service and seating experience is a fun bonus. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. My husband and I came here today for our anniversary date and we were really excited to try SMG out. I was really disappointed. First complaint was the food - I was not impressed at all. Their menu is ridiculously expensive for the quality we received today. I had the white cheddar pasta and quite frankly it was gross - something in the sauce didn't taste right and the pasta was way over-boiled to the point of being soft and soggy. I ended up leaving 75% of the pasta there after the movie to be thrown away. Our chicken tenders were 75% breading and the 25% chicken we did get was super dry. Cheesecake had WAY too much whipped cream all over it. My second huge complaint was how gross the inside of the chair cupholders were - that's the only spot you can put your drink, and mine was never cleaned in between shows - the only place I could put my drink was disgusting and had a sticky substance in it. The movie was good and the servers were very nice and fast but I wouldn't come back here based off my first experience here today. If you haven't heard or know about Studio Movie Grill, let me tell you my perspective. My wife and I received some movie tickets from my oldest daughter as a Christmas Gift. This is a full fledge theater but with a twist directed more towards adults than teens or family. Don't get me wrong, both are welcome, but again this is like an adult oriented theater. Why? This theater has a full service bar. Yes a BAR. Alcohol Bar. Name it they pretty much have it. This is a also small restaurant with a dining/lounge area. So adult couples or a group of adult friends 21 and over can enjoy drinks and food before their movie show begins. Humans under 21 can sit in the dining/lounge. Though I can't comment confidently if a group of teenagers can sit in the center lounge area. We were greeted by the ticket/greeter attendant. Not informative, not cheerful, not really greet friendly. Low voiced, asked us what seats we wanted. Green or Blue. We chose, got our ticket receiptd and told theater #7 is to our right, his left. I told him its our first time here and all he said enjoy the show. Guess customer service with generation of young people, needs to be done via text or social media apps to ensure there is no face to face interaction or proper communication. That, or he had a rough night and wasn't truly awake at 10AM on a SuperBowl Sunday. Or didn't want to be there on a SuperBowl Sunday. Either way, he needs to be energitic. Food served here ranges from sides such as nachos and potato wedges, to 7-8 inch personal pizza for 1 or 2. Sliders, pasta, wings etc. View the menu to see the latest updates. And yes they have popcorn. Fair warning, prices for anything is quite, quite expensive. Regardless if inflation is in season or not. It's expensive, but the cost is to make up for this type of niche genre theater. If you by bypass the dining & the bar area and go directly to your theater seating you can order food & drinks there as well. For more of a direct personal service to you and your spouse/partner/significant other, friends and/or colleagues. As a warning, somebody's card needs to be used as a tab to cover the charges. Just like a bar/night club LOL. Each theater seating manually recline and has a button on the table tray with a QR Code to order whatever is on the current menu im case you weren't presented a menu or forgot to ick one up from the greeter. There is also a kids menu, if you are watching a kid friendly movie such as Moana 2, as I was with my daughter and wife. So I ordered 2 large popcorns and two large or adult sized soft drinks. My biggest disappointment was the popcorn. It was not hot. It was best, slightly cold/warm. Both bags. The bag felt warm, but the popcorn was mixed temperature. It also was not as "crunchy". Should I have complained and wait for two replacements? Maybe. But what I find the most annoying is the theater seating ordering. It's when an attendant just stands there and takes an order. While standing. Not kneeling and taking the order. But standing and repeating the order out loud. Theater Management want to make theater ethics/policy about annoying kids and cell phone. Make a policy for your staff to kneel down while taking an order during movie play. Previews can be discussed I don't mind. They are basically commercials. But seeing 2-3 attendant staff while standing and taking a food order request is annoying as a homeless person asking you for money at a crosswalk. Theater viewing and sound. For those seeking a surround sound, I'm not sure there is one. Well at least not in Moana2. So for those seeking THX, Dolby Surround, I can't make a definitive comment. But the projectors are digital and the picture is clear. The sound from my movie and theater was well, all forward facing. It's clear but some "sounds" can crackle. Ok, my other annoyance is the bathroom. The mens is on the left side of the theaterand the womens on the right. So if you a male and sitting in say, theater 7, you gotta huff it all the way to the left. If you are a female and sitting theater 3. You gotta huff it all the way to the right. Why it was designed this way, you'd have to ask the Corporate Designers. Overall, this is a niche genre theater. This is not your AMC, Cinemark, Regal and other standard theater. Well aside where some of these "standard" are now implementing a small limited drink bar. My recommendation is a maybe. As I said, its a niche theater and if budget is of no concern and you budget is unlimited. Then this type of theater is for you. If you are on a budget in every which way. Then this theater is not for you. Have fun amd enjoy your show!! read more

I absolutely love coming to this theater and this is the only one my boyfriend and I will come to. We live in Folsom and drive 20 minutes to come here each time we see a movie. This evening was the first time I was really disappointed. I got the chicken Cesar salad and my chicken was raw. Of course it was dark, so I'm unsure how many raw pieces I actually ate. read more

I came to watch Jurassic World but couldn't really enjoy the movie because there was just too much going on. The servers are constantly walking back and forth, which I get it's part of the experience but the guy we had tonight was awful. We asked for water and napkins multiple times, but he completely ignored us. Trying to get his attention was a lost cause. To make it worse, whenever he walked behind our reclining chairs, he'd bump into them, which made it even harder to enjoy the movie. Since my last visit, the seats have been updated, which is nice, I guess, but for how expensive everything is, I expected better service and better quality drinks. My alcoholic beverage barely tasted like it had any alcohol in it at all--it might as well have been soda. The popcorn I ordered was drenched in butter, which was just too much. Honestly, Regal's popcorn is better. To top it off, I missed parts of the movie because I was trying to flag down the servers for help, and the theater itself was ridiculously hot. Seriously, turn the AC on! Lastly, my tab got mixed up with our neighbor's. I get that it's a lot to manage, but when you're paying a premium, you expect better attention to detail. My rating was a 5-star down to 2-star. The food went from excellent to gross. My over cooked "dry" chicken parm sub was cut into little pieces of tiny burned chicken pieces mingled into a sub- ugh. I expected a grilled chicken breast, but it was almost like someone sent back dry chicken nuggets and they smeared sauce and cheese and stuck it into a sub and gave it to me. My BF got the avacado flat bread and it was burnt. We decided we like the theater seats. So from now on we'll eat before coming here. We won't order food here again. The novelty has definitely worn off. I actually regret ever gifting it to others or hyping it up for my kid as our special little date. The chairs feel too old without buttons, so you have to push back to recline. The servers made me feel like I'm chaperoning a teenage field trip gone awry. I think it was Arthur who responded to our button and just flat out forgot what he's doing, twice. 0 for 2. I even walked out to check if he's alive and he was preoccupied with some friends who were excited about his ability to wear a short sleeve shirt. We had nearly finished our meal and a third of the movie by the time we asked someone else to bring a water. Then when you finish your drink and ask for another, they don't even clear your empty cup from the cup holder on your tiny table. Our check came with an extra charge that was never communicated on the menu or during ordering. My bad for wasting time trying to question it because they shuffled around asking the manager and at least 2 other people only to find out they won't make it right. As another Yelper already said, other theaters have stepped up their game now. Just go literally anywhere else and get your money's worth for an experience. read more

Hit and miss, but I enjoy going. Pretty good menu selection and they have my favorite IPA.

When they first opened, there were plenty of helpful staff providing excellent service and great food in new comfortable chairs in a very clean environment. They have fallen a long way recently during our last three visits. There are very few staff now providing less than optimal service. We had to buzz the service light and inquire about my wife's 1959 Cadillac Margarita three times. After it came, it was extremely watered down without much alcohol at all and too limey. No refills of soda were checked on or offered. No water was provided even after requested. Food was reasonable once it came. Again we had to inquire about my wife's salad several times. My seat and tray were not cleaned at all before the movie. Corporate needs to come check on this location! read more

We decided to go to Studio Movie Grill on a Tuesday night to watch Planets Of The Apes movie with the kiddos . We had been here before but I did notice the seats had been renovated. They lean back now, which before they would not.. I was like amazing loving it! When we first arrived, we stopped at the bar for a drink before the movie since we were there early. They offer wine, beers on tap and cocktails. They have a full bar . The inside is just beautiful and elegant not your typical movie theater. Logan was the bartender that helped us and he was so friendly and attentive. He went above and beyond with his service. When you go to sit on your seat, you can push the button for service and they will bring your food or drinks at anytime during the movie. They suggest that you arrive around 15 minutes prior of the movie starting so you could take a glance at the menu and order your food. The experience is pretty sweet. If you need another refill of a drink or more food you could just push the button at anytime . The food was delicious. The drinks were very yummy. Overall we had a great experience. The kiddos loved their food from the kids menu. They have a pretty big menu for drinks and food. They have a lot of selections for sure. We have been here before, and we will definitely be coming back specially now that they remodeled their seats . They have a very friendly and attentive staff they will help you out . Chicken Quesadilla was a round glob of cheese with no chicken. The tortilla was So soggy but the edge of the tortilla was like a burned cracker! On top of the terrible food my order took 40+ minutes! I finally inquired about it and the waiter profusely apologized, but it was obvious the food had been sitting for some time. The Chef doesn't care or doesn't know how to make quesadilla.
