    Sean Ashe opened. So good!

Headed to the Boardwalk for the Pat Travers Band on Wednesday 1/28. We saw Michael Shanker here years ago. I gotta say. I love this place. What a great small venue. 3 bands, all sounded great. Easy parking across the street. Beers not over priced. But the staff. That's the best part! Everyone was so friendly and professional. You can tell they've their jobs. From the door guy, to the gal that checked us in. To all the bartenders, sorry I can't remember all your names, but 1 individual in particular, Ben, was so nice. He was servicing tables and did a wonderful job. Your business is only as good as the people you have working there, and this business is doing something right!! Thanks to everyone. We'll be back!!

    Only OJ "mimosa"

Sunday Music Bingo A++++ Service C Food B Bottomless mimosas F Love the bingo, had such a fun time. We arrived early as instructed to get a table together at 10AM, no one came to our table for almost an hour. I understand the event doesn't start until 11, but we're sitting willing to spend money in the meantime ... they had one server for the whole place for some reason despite many other employees loitering around. The server insisted we order our food immediately since we were doing bottomless mimosas, so we complied. And then we closed out as requested as well, never seeing that server again (we were there 10-2) The mimosas left much to be desired, theyre mixed behind the counter in a large carafe and the prosecco/OJ ratio was very inconsistent. You receive a tiny plastic champagne flute that probably holds 5 Oz. We went stretches of 20 min without refills when they stated more was being made. We received glasses of only OJ TWICE. When they do refill your glass they touch the rim of your flute to the carafe essentially contaminating your glass with everyone else's in the place. I know this is a new event, and the place was packed... but more of a reason to recalibrate and really consider how to do it right. Carafes should be left on the table, ratios consistent, more servers per section perhaps.

Paid $70 dollars to get in and paid additional $20 for 8 wings. So disappointing................ Would not recommend this place

I paid $70 to get in and an additional $20 for eight tiny wings. I don't mind paying for great food, but this entree was disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want a satisfying meal. Yes Sara, I paid $20, including a tip, for a small eight-wing entree.

Ask the Community - The Boardwalk

I saw this on a list of places in the Sacramento area that host Open Mic nights. Do they still do that? What night? Are walk-ins welcome, or do we have to pre-register? Is a solo acoustic act welcome? Is it done year-round?

Hi Rick, thanks for reaching out. We do not currently offer open-mic nights at our establishment.

My wife, being the supportive queen that she is, came with me. In return, I'm pretty sure I owe her a Hilary Duff concert. Sacrifices must be made for love. This was our first time at Goldfield and we honestly loved the venue. Check-in was quick and easy, and we decided to upgrade our seats to get dedicated barstools along the top rail. Best decision ever. My knees are no longer built for mosh pits. I'm pretty sure I heard them pop just watching the chaos from above. The highlight of the night was our dedicated server. I think her name was Hannah... or Ana... or something close. She was the one who checked us in and gave us the green wristbands for the barstools. Absolute rockstar. Friendly, professional, and fearless. I say fearless because she navigated through packed crowds to bring us our drinks without spilling a single drop. That deserves a gold medal. Goldfield, give her a gold star and maybe some bonus PTO. She earned it. As for the venue layout, there really isn't a bad spot in the house. I loved the two upstairs sections on both sides of the stage. Great views, great energy, and you still feel fully immersed in the show. Only heads up: the bathrooms are small, and depending on where you're standing, your journey there might require cutting straight through the mosh pit. So plan accordingly and stretch first. We'll definitely be back. Until next time, Goldfield.

I don't recall too many food options except premade items, but there were several drink options available. People bring their own chairs well ahead of the concert time and start marking their claim. We got there just after 7 when it started and there were tons of empty chairs and nowhere to squeeze the four of us in. I'd recommend concerts here. Where we sat we had to deal with the sun but it was perfect by 830 PM. If you don't want to pay for concert tickets there was a nearby parking lot where we observed people hanging out & can see the open venue from afar. Seriously! We totally enjoyed ourselves & can see why there aren't any reviews here bc shhhh it's a hidden gem! If you wanted food they had a taco tent & a dessert tent. Our friends at our table had nachos that smelled like heaven! My wife wanted to help herself! Lol The service here was polite & classy. We had fun bottom line. Parking didn't seem too bad. Scott's Seafood was adjacent to this amphitheater! My wife was wondering where that restaurant was located. Now we know that there are many restaurants & shops close by. We were told to bring lots of tissue for the park like restroom facility but it looked like they had already presupplied it. People were dressed to impress but also casual which seemed to be the way to go! Come enjoy the concerts here! Sorry to let the cat out of the bag. My bad.

Ace of Spades is primarily a general admission, standing-room-only venue. I understand that's part of its model, but what I struggle with is the cost of having access to a seat. Reserved seating can run $100-$150 per seat, which feels excessive. As someone with a chronic back issue, it's frustrating that the option to sit down during a concert comes with such a steep additional cost. Basic accessibility and comfort shouldn't feel like a luxury upgrade. There were also a few moments during Alex Isley's set when the sound briefly blipped while she was singing. Music didn't stop, singing sounded off. It wasn't constant, but it was noticeable enough to pull you out of the experience. On a positive note, the Good Luck Lounge was a great addition. The atmosphere was welcoming, the DJ was excellent, and the finger foods were surprisingly good. It definitely enhanced the overall experience before the show. The staff at both AOS & GLL were excellent! That said, the seating situation remains a major drawback for me. Unless it's an artist I really, really want to see, Ace of Spades isn't a venue I would choose. The performers are often great, but the overall experience doesn't justify the premium pricing for something as simple as a place to sit.
