    Metal concert Profanatica (US)/Panzerfaust (DE)

Damn I wish they had more black and death metal shows here with some name stature. They have a lot of local bands do shows. Well, I came to see Profanatica and Panzerfaust and they were both killer! I met the guys in both bands. The place is very small and intimate. Probably 50 max standing room and close to the stage. Mixer table even in with the 50. Fabulous under-utilized venue in the edge of Oak Park (rough area). However, I parked apprehensively in the hood their and my car was in one piece after the show. The lot was tiny and full and once you drive in, you need to back out. Dangerous. So street parking worked. I love this venue. Very simple. Entry with bar and merch booths leading in to the room with the stage. Shoulder to shoulder kinda place. Best for metal. C'mon Colonial. Book more death/black metal shows in 2024!

    The Empire Strips Back

Parking is small but the location is so nostalgic. We watched Empire Stripes back and it was tasteful, funny, and location was perfect for it. As locals, we need to support it so they can upgrade their seats!! Its a regular concession stand food, non-alcoholic beverages.

Went here for a comedy show. It was fantastic! They have a really good concession stand too. Love the old school theater decor.

First impression, HUGE! Humongous snack aisle with not just popcorn but hot dogs and delicious other food there too! INCLUDING their nachos with extra cheese if you ask they are warm, deelish, and big enough to share!! The movie was fantastic and let me tell you, the upcharge for the D-Box seats might seem a little strange but I promise you? If you're seeing an action, thriller or action/horror, DO IT! It literally made you feel like you were on a ride at the movies like a kid again! This made the movie a 10 times crazier experience, and not to mention it they have SEAT WARMERS on the inside for your lower back and you can also control the strength on your seat if how hard it pulls you or vibrates for customers with medical conditions which is very considerate. 10000/10 what a great time if you guys are looking around for movies and a great time, HERE plus the. Recently unlocked a new viewing room where there are extension screens to the main screen. It was quite different and a little motion sickness inducing for me but such a cool screening experience. Members get to vote on the movie pick each month based on an imaginative theme ~Fees waived if buying through SeeTickets ~Up to 15!!!! discounted tickets, 1 per showing Dreamland is considering expanding because it's become so popular! There are only 30ish seats inside, but that's part of what I like so much about it. The intimate underground feel. However, I would and will support them no matter where they go! If you sign up for emails you can contribute to surveys about its future, and be notified of the monthly schedule, including special events. During Pride their John Waters showings were so popular they had to move them to The Crest Theatre! Dreamland has also hosted local filmmakers for Q& As and film festivals! They often have movies I can't find anywhere else or have never heard of. Sometimes they show short films too. Coming up in October is a night of spooky horror shorts! Lots of incredibly cool stuff happening in my neighborhood and I'm so proud to support it! See you in October for something spooky? One last tip: check the schedule asap at the beginning of the month and buy tickets asap because they sell out fast!

This time we saw Father Mother Sister Brother. 3 stories about family dynamics. It was a slow movie with great acting according to my husband, but no action. I'm more of an action kind of girl. My husband liked the movie so much that we went home and the next week he looked up other movies by the director and found one. He was thrilled and really enjoyed that one too. The seats could be more comfortable. It's an old theater with old seating so you can imagine that they are only so comfortable for so long and then your butt gets tired of sitting on them and then you get the wiggles. Parking is great. They share a private lot with the Tower Cafe. Movie times are ok. It's tough to get the right movie time so you can plan dinner at the Tower Cafe while they are still open and not get out of work till 5pm. This movie time was at 4:15 or so and we had to get our of work early to catch the movie. Our bosses were nice and they let us out early this time, but it's a challenge.

The biggest issue was the party room setup. Unfortunately when we got there, the room wasn't ready. There were no plates, utensils, napkins, or juices set out for the kids, and it honestly felt like there wasn't an assigned attendant checking in on the room. My friend had actually chosen this location because she previously hosted another birthday party here for her older daughter and had an amazing experience with decorations and an attentive party host, so this visit felt very different from what she expected. Once it was time for the movie though, things definitely improved. Someone came in and took all the kids' snack orders, and the kids loved getting their popcorn and Slurpees. That part felt much smoother and more organized. I also appreciated how clean everything was. The restrooms and theater itself were very well maintained, which always stands out to me in busy movie theaters. The heated seats were also a nice touch. They weren't overly warm, but you could definitely feel a little heat on your back which made the theater feel extra cozy. Another plus was the drink selection. There were plenty of options for both kids and adults, which made everyone happy. Helpful tip: If you're booking a birthday party here, it might be worth confirming the party room setup details again the day of just to make sure everything is ready when you arrive. Overall, the actual movie experience was great, but the party room side unfortunately didn't feel as organized as expected this time around.

At 34 weeks pregnant, that's not an inconvenient, it's torture. The seats are somehow even worse. They only recline halfway because there are bars behind every row. It feels like sitting in an old theater from the 90s that never got updated. Zero comfort. Zero consideration. My back hurts just thinking about it.
