I attended a Christmas party here for the second year in a row. All I can say is WOW! This place is run like a well oiled machine. Staff are very accommodating and right on top and getting anything you need. Our meal was buffet style and the food was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the chicken Marsala and the prime rib. I'm hoping my husbands company has their party here again next year. We both looked forward to going for the food and good service. Our experience was the same during both visits. I just had my daughters baby shower there on 8-28-2020. It was fabulous! Rachel the coordinator who I called constantly was patient, kind and unbelievably helpful! She explained everything to me in a thoughtful and kind way. The day of the shower everything went as stated. The room was beautiful! If u don't know the Century House has been totally renovated. It looks beautiful! The food was excellent! We had the Portuguese style buffet. Due to covid the waitresses serve you the food. The food was hot and delicious! The waitresses constantly came to each table asking us if we wanted water, soda, tea or coffee. Always smiling! The head waitress was Debbie. She was absolutely organized and I mean fantastic! Highly recommend Century House for any event! We had my bridal shower here yesterday in the crystal room, with the mimosa brunch, and it was such a wonderful day! Debbie and all of her staff were so efficient and polite. Many people from our party remarked on how beautiful their venue is. The food was delicious and the bartender kept the included drinks filled and ready to grab. Everyone raved about the food and multiple people voiced that the tiramisu was the best they had ever had! The staff were also very quick in grabbing any empty plates and glasses off of the tables. It was a beautiful day and we're so happy with how it turned out. read more

Went to century house to inquire about utilizing their location for my wedding reception. The lady who gave me the tour was extremely rude. When I asked if the contract she was attempting to force me to sign locks in the price, she stated "No and if that's what you want you can go somewhere else". If you are considering this location I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I've attended 2 functions here. The big room is nice and usually set up very well for appropriate functions. Roomy dance floor and a decent size bar. The cathedral, barn - type ceiling adds a rustic, airy feel. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Feels like it could use some updating to the main entrance, carpets and the restrooms, but overall a very serviceable spot for any event. Different size rooms for every size function i.e. small intimate baby showers to larger 200+ weddings. read more

I've attended different events at The Century House throughout the years and with each one I attend the serve and the upkeep of the building declines with each visit. Recently, I attended a surprise family function in the early afternoon hours. Once the guest of honor arrived, the buffet style food was brought out which we served ourselves and sat back down. You would think we were ready to eat? Wrong! Looking around at our place settings we all had a drinking glass and a coffee cup but no beverages (which the host wanted their guests to at least have water served with our meal). That wasn't the case, the servers were so slow getting water for us which never came. we all purchased our beverages which would have been fine if beverages were to be served in the first place. A little while later about 2 hours in when the cake was served one of my family members asked a server for coffee (which was never offered at our table neither to the others) which we all were looking forward to having with our desserts. The server returned and to clear our spoons and coffee mugs which I mentioned to the server, excuse me but we're waiting for our coffee. Her reply was, oh yeah, the coffee maker has been shut off. I looked at time and thinking to myself we were 2 hours into the party and still had 2 hours at the venue and not once was offered coffee. Onto the bathrooms and upkeep, the bathroom smelled as if the sewer were coming up through the pipes and the toilets were filthy, no toilet paper. I've worked in the food and hospitality industry for over 2 decades and this has to be the worst serve I've encounted. If you're looking to host a function at the Century House, please rethink otherwise. read more

The Century House in Acushnet, Ma. is one of the areas best run and well managed facilities. I have lived in the area my entire life and have always known this facility as a very well-respected, family-run function halls. I often drive by the facility on the weekends and am never surprised to see full rooms and a full parking lot!! From the amazing quality food, to the friendly, accommodating wait staff and the professional, polite management team, the Century House is one of the best places to have any function. The only thing i could possibly say that would improve the overall experience and feel, would be an update to the decor. this is not to say it is uncomfortably dated, however, some improvements to the lighting in the rooms and some of the structural decor would be a considerable upgrade. I would recommend this facility to anyone planing any type of function as the price is very reasonable and they have a great menu to fit any type of gathering. With multiple rooms to accommodate head-counts from any size group from 20 to 300+, the Century House in Acushnet will definitely satisfy whatever your need is!! read more

We chose Century House to hold my dad's retirement party in the Terrace Room on 4/21/18 and it was an absolutely fabulous event for our 80+ guests! Jeff customized a menu for our cocktail party that included stationery and passed appetizers that were all of my father's favorites! From Portuguese littlenecks to cheese burger sliders to a wonderful chowder station with homemade cod cakes, to a amazing cheese and crudités display the food was the hit of the party! My personal favorite was the Chickpea Salad! We chose an open bar for 2 hours and our guests were thrilled with the bar selection, too. Also, the Terrace Room (and foyer) with its recent renovations makes the space modern, yet, just enough of a blank canvas to be perfectly decorated for any event! We chose maroon and navy linens. Karen and Rachel were so helpful throughout the entire planning process and were so on the ball. They were always calling for updates on our guest count and wondering if anything had changed or questions. Rachel was instrumental in letting us know that we could decorate earlier than expected on the day of the party. Thank you Century House for a flawless and absolutely fun event that our guests are still raving about! read more

I had a bridal shower for my daughter this past weekend here. The staff was professional, and everything was set up quite nicely. We added more flowers to the centerpieces on the tables and balloons to enhance the atmosphere. The food was good and had quite a few menu pricing options to pick from. I would have given 5 stars but i was not happy with the fact I was told there was no left over food for me to make a plate to take home, and had one guest who arrived later and was only able to eat finger sandwiches. Mind you I paid for approximately 15-20 guests who did not attend the event. I was not asking to pay less, I understand I get charged for the guest counts I give them, but what happened to the food in which was paid for the guests who did not attend? I was only asking for a couple plates to take home for a couple guests who could not attend. All in all, it was a happy event and would have another event there. read more
