I'm trying Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be shepherd. I won't call out some of the bizarre complaints by name but some of the vitriol is for the wedding venue side and won't matter if you're just seeking a hotel. Maybe the word "resort" is inspiring more rhetorical darts. It's a mid-range hotel near New Bedford which doesn't have a ton of options and is fine. It won't be on the cover of Hotel Magazine. It was clean and the AC was efficient. Geography note: I was here without a car. It's a mile across the bridge to New Bedford. The bus is a few blocks away but shuts down around 5:30. read more

We stayed here for one night, our room had a window that faced the bar, the light switch shut off the tv/microwave/fridge which we were unaware of until the morning when we went to get our food. The sitting area was non existentent it was just an open area. There was grout all over the floor, the baseboard was peeled away from the wall. When we arrived the electricity on one half of the bedroom did not work, we waited for maintenance to address this situation. The next day as we checked out we brought all of this to the desk attendant she says we should have picked a diffrence room. read more

Really can't say nothing bad about this place and will definitely be back. We stopped here for the night while on our way to Cape Cod for weekend; figured it was half way and would check out the band playing outside by the water. It's a great spot right on the water in Fairhaven. The check in girl was great; she was welcoming, pleasant, friendly and a great first impression. There is a great little restaurant across the street we loved. The place is clean and modern with plenty of parking. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The room was a little small but no complaints. The room had a microwave, decent size fridge and there is a nice coffee bar in the lobby. They have a nice indoor pool. Outside by the water is a permanent bar under a permanent tent with stage and dance floor with plenty of seating and tables. They also have a permanent food truck outside, but like I said above there is a great restaurant option right across the street we loved. The crowd for the band was great, great vibe and great blend of people. The band Loose Screws was great and got the crowd involved and dancing. We had a great time here and already booked another two weekends for other bands. It's not the Crowne Plaza but absolutely no complaints for the accommodations, location, people and cost. Great stay at the Seaport Inn...well it was that when I worked there 40 years ago. Now the Seaport Resort & Marina. Still clean, they've done some much needed upgrades. Pleasant staff (even when the reservation triple booked us-they were nice to clear up the online booking kisunderstandinf). Pool still clean and nice. Front desk was under construction (more much needed work) so no continental breakfast like they used to but at least they had coffee. The Skipper is re-named Safron By The Sea. We didn't go there for dinner but it looked nice. Recommend. read more

My family and I had two rooms for the weekend. They weren't adjoining, which was inconvenient, but were across the hall from each other, so that was ok. In one of the rooms, one of the bedside tables was missing. There was no way to sign in to several streaming services because they were pin protected, with no way to unlock them. Walking down the halls, it was odd to notice that the electrical panels were just kept open. I realized why when I unplugged something and the circuit breaker tripped. I was glad I noticed the breaker boxes, because hotel staff wasn't going to lift a finger. When you go to the pool, you will notice that the hot tub is filled with stones and fake trees. This is because they don't heat the pool, which is fine in the summer, I suppose, but it comes off as stinginess on the part of the owners. They have the microwave, fridge, tv and lamps all on the same circuit, so this must happen all the time. The water to our floor was shut off for 2-3 hours on Saturday afternoon. We got back to our rooms after 4 pm and they had not been cleaned. The beds remained unmade in one of the rooms. If your room is on the side of the hotel with the live music, you have to wait until 10 pm or after to be able to get to sleep, which is fine for some, but not for families with little kids. I would recommend staying far away from this "resort." read more

We made reservations through Travelocity in March, the day before check-in they canceled it.. they said it was due to the price we purchased in full. They said I could rebook for the new rates, almost triple of what the price was. Travelocity tried to get them to honor the reservation, they would not. We did get rebooked at a different property and Travelocity covered the difference in cost, Beware of low prices from this place.. they will cancel on you. I'm glad we didn't get stranded for our trip. We really wanted to stay and probably would of booked more trips as my son and his family are local and have my only grandbaby. They missed out. Came to this motel with a travel baseball team. We have 3 children and called to book their room that would offer 3 beds. After speaking with staff we booked their delux suite, with 3 beds. Upon arrival there was two chairs in a living room and one bed. After going to the desk they brought up 2 cots , with approximately 1 inch thick pads. Our children are not young so these beds were not comfortable or adequate in size. The staff at hotel offered a 10% discount that was laughable. The management would not return calls or emails. I would skip over this hotel. It's not quiet , comfortable or that clean. They have live music outside that brings a rowdy crowd and the bathrooms for the music bar are inside the hotel. Anyone can come inside that's not staying there. No elevators so if you struggle with stairs look elsewhere. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews, so with that said, here it is. The room we booked was a large one bedroom suite. The room was very nice, the unfortunate part of this, is that the heat in the room did not work, at all. It was 7 degrees outside that night and the room was literally 40 degrees. When I went to the front desk to let them know, I was basically told there was nothing they could do about it, and when I asked for a refund I was told no. I asked for a different room and was told again they couldnt do anything for me. My suggestion would be to go in the spring/summer, because it really is a nice place, the owners just don't keep up with the general maintenance like they should. read more

Was extremely disappointed in the property considering the previous reviews and comments from people that had stayed there before. For a three-night stay, I was billed $608, which is on par with a Hilton or Marriott, and this was more like a Budget 6. I should have known when I was checking in, as there were multiple people complaining. When I entered my room, as you can see from the pictures, the wallpaper was peeling, furniture was damaged, mold and dirt on vents, and the door lock was missing pieces. I worked in this industry for years, so I know it can be challenging for older properties, but there is simply no excuse for the condition of this room when they are charging these prices. Additionally, the AC was OFF when I entered the room on a 95-degree day, so the room was like a sauna. It took at least three of four hours before it was tolerable in there. To add insult to injury, the room was not refreshed on Sunday even though I left in the morning and did not return until late at night (and yes, I had the maid service requested sign on the door). The location of the property is ideal, but that is about the only good thing I have to say. Just extremely disappointing. read more

Calling this place a resort is like calling McDonalds a restaurant. Technically, you'd be correct, but no one's coming to the place for a long vacation. They're completing the new addition while ignoring the current rooms, most of which have fallen into disrepair. The location is OK, although most rooms face parking lots, and it's a 2-minute drive to New Bedford (unless the bridge is open). The bed is comfortable, but the rooms smell of bleach concealing mold. They each have a fridge, microwave, and hair dryer, but also have problems with the locks and windows. Maybe someday, it will improve, but it's not there yet read more

I recently stayed at Seaport inn in Fairhaven and was very unsatisfied with the rooms were very small enough room to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. Also the reception desk person was not very friendly. And a lot of noise from there banquet hall couldn' sleep. I had to check out and leave was only there for 1 hour. I give it one star. read more

We checked in to what was evidently a room in which someone had smoked. The room was cold as the heater was broken but blowing cold air & could not be shut off. The lamp, which was 1 of only 2 lights in the room, flickered then went out. My husband went to the front desk asking for a bulb & informing them about the heater. They said they'd send someone to our room. Turns out the wire on the lamp was frayed & the heater was broken. They moved us across the hall to a room with a heater which worked but sounded like a fog horn, which got louder & louder till it banged, then started that cycle again. The TV was the most un-user friendly system. The restaurant is no longer open. All in all, a horrible experience which I will never repeat at this hotel again. read more

Worst stay. Booked on expedia two days in advance. Got to the hotel for the kid to laugh and say our already paid room was canceled by expedia. He said no rooms were available, and there was nothing he could do. So i called Expedia for them to say they didn't cancel our reservation and they would call the hotel. After an hour, waiting on the phone, the girl said the hotel gave us a new room. So we go back in, and the kid did not explain what happened or apologize for any misinconvenience and seemed like he did not want us their. I do not recommend this hotel. He said no rooms were available but no cars in parking lot and i saw some empty rooms being cleaned. read more

This place is trying to renovate. This hotel has no elevator, so no handicap access. $241.00 a night for a king bed. There is one accessible power outlet in the room, the only other one is behind the bed. Their restaurant is currently closed, so their solution is food trucks. The hotel is kind of dingy and worn. Save your money and try another location. When they have fully renovated, they will still need to revamp all of their rooms and install an elevator read more

I met to view a room for my daughter's wedding and advised I had 150 people. I was told it would fit approx 115 comfortably so I decided I would knock the list down to 115. We viewed the room and how we would have it set up. She gave me prices and I then asked any other charges I want all bottom line prices and she agreed yes that's it no other surprise charges. I thanked her and said I will get right back to her. I then told her it was a wedding for two woman so she wouldn't be surprised and she said no problem. ONE HOUR LATER I received a message they they had a meeting after I left and came to an " executive decision that the room could only fit 85 not 115 and they had to add $250 for clean up." Weird how she said no other charges and 115 people. Once they hear it's a gay wedding the price went up and guest went down. If you want to change prices coincidentally after I leave it should be your new price going forward not to someone you quoted prices for already..GAY OR NOT!!! Watch your receipt for a made up 42 dollar charge. They are trying to take advantage of customers. My price from a Thursday - Tuesday was 600. The weekend (Fri & Sat nights) were 150 per, and Thursday , Sunday, Monday night were 100. Now the best part - my agreement was to pay 600 plus tax. Not the 42.50 "other charges" amount. Asked at the desk - no clue as to what it was - the guy said he'd get his manager to call me... I had to call them again the next day... Found out then what the 42.50 charge was for - get this : The amenities! The clerk said it's for the use of the pool (was ice cold , indoor) , the wifi (how is this not free??) and the complimentary coffee !!!! I told him - please charge me then and I'll make sure I let others know for them what that charge will be for so they won't have to deal with my likes again. He then asked for my email - and sent me the revision - he took the 42.50 off the bill.. So in fairness - you'll get charged a hefty fee for the "FREE" amenities, just remember to call and ask for the manager and you'll be fine. one star for the shadyness on the bill. - as for those amenities - a lot to be desired. read more

This is a classic bait and switch operation. Web site looks beautiful. Pool looks pristine. Outdoor bar looks fabulous. Looks very nice. Then reality. We arrived and the whole place is under construction. Much of the property is off limits because it's torn up. The pool is closed. The outside bar and restaurant are closed. No meals being served. We literally had to talk over power tools in use when checking in. And this is peak season! All they have to do is put a small announcement on the web pages that the place is under renovation and list what's closed. We won't be back. Ever. Go to the Fairfield in New Bedford. read more

Our flight was delayed and we missed our connecting flight. I called as soon as we landed to let them know we wouldn't be making it as there were no flights out of North Carolina for the next couple of days. I explained the situation and the gentleman cancelled. What I was told later is that they would not refund the $179 even when it was out of our control. On a recent visit to the Seaport Inn & Marina, I experienced a roller-coaster of reactions.... from being less impressed, to very impressed, to overall less impressed again. On driving by the inn initially, I was surprised by how run-down looking it appeared from the exterior. It appears that there has been little to no updating to its outside appearance and had I not been looking for this address specifically, I probably wouldn't have given it a second glance. Happy that there was a large parking lot on a side street for this location, I ushered myself indoors for the wedding I was there for. This is about the time I became more impressed! The wedding took place in three different rooms of the inn's entertainment space. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and main banquet areas were all beautifully decorated. Chairs donned white slip covers with blue bows, accent lighting along the walls created a magical atmosphere. Everything was clean and well presented... the only thing that was a bit strange were the mirrored ceilings. Any woman with a low cut or loose upper garment was at risk of wandering eyes from an overhead view. In any case, the ceremony space was beautiful and the cocktail hour, intimate but enjoyable. The appetizers served were delicious! The veggie platter, stuffed mushrooms, and other such finger foods were plentiful and easily accessible. The bathrooms were very fancy and clearly renovated. Around the time it became less enjoyable was in the inn's banquet hall. The temperature was quite cold in this room... so much so and noticeable that my date went out to retrieve my coat to wear to warm up. Thinking this would change with people up and about dancing, I was dismayed when it remained chilly. Dinner was served in a buffet style which was nice as I was able to pick and choose what I wanted... thing is, my salmon was severely undercooked. Or rather, not cooked except for the outside millimeter of my piece. On returning the piece to the staff to make them aware, the comment was "Oh, it must have come from the tray on this side". So they already knew there was a problem and didn't do anything about it? At least three people's salmon at my table was in the same condition. Dangerous thing to do in a dimly lit banquet hall with elderly and kids in attendance. After dinner, staff were quick to clear the tables... including the water glasses and water. I guess for those with plans of getting crazy on the dance floor would have to trek over to the bar in one corner to stay hydrated. Why not at least leave those? Overall, I was impressed by the facilities and what the couple did with the space available but was disappointed in the aspects of the venue that the facility was responsible for. Seriously? Your reputation management strategy is to deny the user's claim and say their experience was invalid?! Wow! Having reconnected with some of the other guests who attended the weekend, I've learned that several people who were in the hot tub had to throw out bathing suits because they were ruined by the chemicals in the water. They also confirmed the general consensus by other guests that the food service was subpar. We will be back and I hope the service will be better...including more honesty from staff! This review is for the bar. I'm in town visiting family for a funeral and a few of us decided we needed to have some fun after a few very heavy, emotional days. We drove by and saw a bunch of cars in the parking lot and decided to check it out. We didn't know there was a dj & dancing - I dug the songs for the 10mins we were there. We didn't stay because, after we'd already been there for a few minutes, this dude who I presume is the doorman (who wasn't at the door when we walked in) made a beeline for me and my female cousin and carded us. Ok, sure. Then he told my cousin that hoodies weren't allowed and she'd have to take it to the car. Now, that wouldn't have really been a problem had he not been...kinda weird about it. Like, overly insistent. We then saw a white girl in a hoodie who appeared to have been there for some time and decided to leave. When my aunt asked how old you had to be to come in, he said "18...no, 21." We told the guy about her on our way out, because he was outside smoking now, and he said, "Oh, I better take care of that." But he was still outside smoking and looking at his phone when we drove off. So, pro tip: if you're a door man, maybe be at the door to check ids and such when people come in? And maybe, I don't know, post any dress code restrictions clearly at the entrance? I'm really glad we hadn't settled enough to buy a drink and spend any money here. read more

We had a reservation at your Inn and end up checking out an hour after we checked in. The website and phone prompts were very misleading saying it was newly renovated when it was clearly under construction. When we arrived to our room there was nonstop construction sounds coming from the rooms adjacent to ours. Our room (126) had broken porcelain spots in the tub which was rusted over and was unsafe. The amenities like the pool and fitness area had unbearable smells that rendered them unusable. I am currently pregnant and cannot chance the health and safety by staying in this establishment. I reached out to the hotel via phone and email multiple times and they haven't responded to anything. read more

We (my wife and our cat) stayed for a week over Christmas. We arrived late, 10:30PM and checked in just fine. The location is very easy to get to and central to shopping from the North Dartmouth Mall, to Fairhaven Center. Plenty of things to do too. Whaling museums to theaters to performing arts, shopping, dining and of course beaches. They have a dock for your boat, so if by sea or by car you have plenty of parking. The pool and hot tub area is pretty awesome. Our room was okay, it along with the Inn was a little "tired". Maintenance was fine, just getting old. And the beds were very stiff. We like soft comfy beds, and these created pressure points so body arts were "asleep" no matter how we laid. The Inn is pet friendly and charged a modest fee for a week for your pet. The good... 1. Easy to find, right off Route 6 2. Local to shops in downtown old Fairhaven and shopping is local too 3. Friendly staff 4. Great breakfast 5. Very nice indoor pool and hot tub 6. Small exercise room and laundry facilities 7. Great shower 8. Good price 9. Fast Wi-Fi (note this was over Christmas and very few people were staying at the Inn) 10. Quiet The not so good... 1. My family and I stayed here for two days. I purchased a Groupon online and saved $40 each day. The hotel looks like it was renovated recently. Our room had two double beds, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Beds were comfortable. Nice art work in the room. Very clean. My son and I went to the pool. It was very nice and looked new. We found out that it had been renovated last year. Water was warm and no smell of chlorine?!? The pool was treated with salt water!! Gray experience. Eyes were not burning and red. Water was very clean. The spa was nice 100 degrees and very relaxing. At night the pool and surrounding area were lit in blue. Very nice. The breakfast buffet was complimentary and very good. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit-oranges, bananas, a pancake maker,juice-apple, orange, peach, coffee and tea. I didn't try out the fitness room but it had treadmill, recumbent bike and elliptical. Check in and out was easy. Just wished they had one of those luggage carts that you find in other hotels. Otherwise if was a good experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Service was horrible not so much as a hello when we walked in. Woman at the desk was super rude when we asked any question. We go up to our room and there are globs of HAIR in our bathroom and bathtub and on our towels. There were USED QTIPS on the floor. Then we go to plug in our phones to charge so we can get up for our triathlon in the morning. No lights work, no outlets work, there alarm clock because of no outlets work, no coffee in the morning bc no outlets working. They charged us for a room with ZERO amenities. When we went to check out we were asked what we'd like and we said 50% refund would be fine. Steve said I can do 50, we're like great. We could have asked for a full refund but didn't. I check my statement later and they only refunded $50! For NOTHING working in the room that was disgusting. Alsp the management and owner refused to call us back after several attempts and Cody said that means theyre not going to do anything about our horrible stay and non working rooms. I had been avoiding this place because of it's past, but it was in the dinner for two book and we decided to give it another try. There were Portuguese specials the night we went and Abner and I both ordered the Carne Alejentana that had tender pieces of marinated beef, littlenecks, shrimp and fried potatoes. It was very tasty and with the right amount of spice to it. For dessert, we split an warm apple crisp with ice cream. Overall, it was very good. So, put away your past experience with the Seaport and give the restaurant a try again. read more

I didn't stay here but ate in the restaurant recently and thought it was good. They have weird hours, open after 4pm weekdays and noon on weekends but is closed Tuesdays. I had the calamari appetizer and it was enough to feed at least 2 people for only $6.99. Very light golden batter (clean oil) and cooked just right served with a spicy cocktail sauce. For entree I had the maple glazed salmon with thyme roasted potatoes and sauteed summer squash and zucchini. I though the salmon was a tad over done but it was a nice skinless piece and was very flavorful. The sided were good. This was the most expensive thing on the menu at $15.99. I think bottle beers are $3 and mixed drinks $5 which is pretty good. Most entrees are in the $10-13 range and they have mostly pub food. There was hardly anyone in here but it was a Monday but if you are in the area its worth a checkout. Checked in on Monday and checked out on Wednesday. Brandy at the front desk handled our reservations prior to check in and happened to be working when we arrived. We found her super friendly and accommodating. There is no elevator so if all they have available is upper level you'll have to hoof the stairs. This wasn't an issue for us, and Brandy was sure to ask about this prior to booking. The hotel is under renovation so we asked for a room with a partial view of the marina. Our request was honored. The room was clean and housekeeping was very nice. There does seem to be a local influence here...people coming/going all ours of the night. Our first night we were both so exhausted that we mostly slept through any disruptions. The second night was a bit more disruptive. We didn't take advantage of the Roman Springs or the pool but it looked okay. I believe it was done over in 2014. Certainly wish we had. We didn't eat on site but as a guest if you do they comp your bill by 15%. The continental breakfast was pretty standard and inclusive of the rate; a plus for any budget traveler. All in all, the location was prime for our needs. Just keep in mind that you may have to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to some of the waterfront activities (all night dockside fishing and dialogue) that create a little bit of extra noise if you're a light sleeper. This is review is for the hotel . I highly recommend this as a place to stay. It's clean and very secure. The staff is very friendly. We did stay in the "premiere" rooms which have been renovated so I'm not sure what the lower standard rooms are like. The bed was great and had nice linens. Great cable options, microwave and fridge, and a keurig coffee maker. Plenty of mirrors and nice decorations. The included breakfast buffet was an added plus! When we are here in the shipyard again we will Definitely stay here again...the new pool will be ready. :) read more

We recently had our wedding here, and it was fabulous! Our guests were impressed with both the space, and the food! They were accommodating for all our friends allergies, which were numerous. The hotel was nice as well! They were accommodating and comfortable. The staff seemed happy to have us, and our friends can be a difficult bunch. I would encourage others having events to check out the Seaport. The Ballroom is located next to a loading dock, so if the site is bringing in anything, the air coming in is cold. I suspect this was a winter specific issue, but a few guests were cold at the beginning of the event. There were a couple hiccups, but overall it was a great space, and good experience. read more

Enjoyed my stay here overall, the pool and spa are wonderful, the breakfast was fresh and tasty. The reason it's not 5 stars is because the pillows are dreadful. Definitely not the hotel pillows I'm accustomed to. They're flat, you need all 3 to be semi comfortable. The king size beds are also very firm, no give. But other than that, lovely place to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE. Disgusting rooms. walls peeling, shower tub floor peeling and discolored. Mold on mirror and fan. Lock on door looked like it had been broken down. NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE! Filthy carpeting in room and hallways and lobby. No working fitness room, which is listed a working amenity Rude, uninformed staff. Couldn't tell me the name of the manager... OR WOULD'T!! The bed was lower at the head than the foot. The plastic covering (for health and safety?) on cups had holes in it. The bag for inside the ice bucket also had holes in it. The fridge and microwave they are so proud of on the website didn't even work. Worst overnight hotel experience. Absolutely filthy, moldy, unsafe and disgusting. I am 100% calling them or sending a letter when I get back from my trip. And I can see that an additional charge from them is pending for my security deposit!!! That room was a nightmare before I got there and they know it. REALLY TERRIBLE HOTEL, really terrible owner, really terrible management. read more

What a wonderful hotel. The staff was absolutely charming. A special mention of Brittany at the front desk who is not only sweet and smart but super helpful and eager to see the guests happy. You can't ask for more in a hotel. The pool was clean and in good repair, the same with my room. Too many drunks in the parking lot making noise at night. I won't stay here again. TVs blaring, people stomping around at night. Just plain noisy. Very average in terms of quality and with the bad element in this neighborhood, it's just not worth it. There is a bar attached to this hotel & all the drunks pour into the parking lot at 2AM and make noise all night. Stay at the Hampton Inn, much better neighborhood and so much more quiet.
