Excellent venue for our Celebration Of Life luncheon yesterday. Sophia, our manager and her staff were extremely attentive and willing to do anything to accommodate us. The rooms are bright, decorated nicely, with ample parking and easy access. The buffet was delicious, with many options to choose from. There is a great patio for those wishing to enjoy some fresh air as well. Our bar tender was so pleasant as was all our wait staff. What an amazing Celebration of Life event my family and I had yesterday at Rachels Lakeside. From start to finish with the planning then the actual ceremony , Sophia and her staff couldn't have been more attentive. The buffet that i chose couldn't have been any better. Plenty of parking , extremely clean, and the staff were so organized with everything. Food was served very hot and on time and any request were promptly taken care of. We held a family member's post-funeral repast at Rachel's Lakeside. It was not actually our first choice. We arranged to have it at White's of Westport, a venue we'd used for various events for years, but we had to make a last minute change and White's was not available, so we took up a staff member's suggestion to have the repast at Rachel's. It was excellent. They accommodated a last-minute extra table that we required. They also had at the ready a podium and microphone for the eulogist and a large screen for showing a slideshow. Maybe most important, the food was fantastic. We ordered the deluxe luncheon buffet among the repast offerings, and we could not have been happier. Months later, friends and family who attended that day are still telling us it was the best post-funeral meal they've ever had. The setting was also lovely. I think in the end it was better that we had it at Rachel's, in part, for the setting, because the room was bright with lots of windows, whereas at White's we would have been in a room without windows. I'd definitely have an event at White's again, but I wouldn't hesitate to organize an event at Rachel's. read more

Went to a wedding here for a long time friend. It wasn't bad for the area. Nothing amazing but certainly not bad. Food was decent too. I mean it's a hall so there isn't much to be said regarding it. From what I was told from my friends who rented it that it's kinda pricey considering the place but it's also not like there a large amount of options in the area either. read more

I recently went to a wedding here. The ceremony was held at the gazebo. Immediately following was the reception. What I was most impressed with was the service. The servers were very friendly and attentive. They were constantly coming around, replenishing our water and attending to any other needs that came up. They made the whole experience pleasurable. read more

Company Christmas party last week I had not been there in several years . It seems the food was delayed they had 4 serving rows that fed into one carving station. The lines just did not move by the times you got to the station the food was cold . read more

went to a private 50th b-day party here!! The food was amazing for a buffet! I was pleasantly surprised at how great the seafood casserole was!! There were recognizable scallops and clams in the dish which is a bonus!!! Bar was great & dance floor was a great size for an intimate patty!! read more

Not sure if everyone else went to the same place but I've been to at least a 1/2 dozen events there so I think I can give an informed opinion. Reminds me of a nursing home- I would know because I worked at one in high school- the food is equivalent. Every year same lousy buffet. I had to stop on the way home to get something to eat because I had next to nothing there. Even desert was bad - hard things in the apple crisp. Salad tasted odd, bread was 1/2 a cold Portuguese roll. Fish smelled bad, Portuguese chicken was tough, etc. Same owner as white's in Westport. read more

This is a typical banquet hall. The food is decent. It is not the most healthy. Lots of thick, rich sauces. I've been a few times; it has always been a buffet-style, not sure if they offer waiter service... Drinks are reasonably priced and waitstaff are courteous. Unsure of prices as it has always been a work-related affair. read more

I am Roland of roland video and photo services out of Dedham and I have covered at least 3 weddings in Rachel Lakeside. I find the place very spacious and with lots of parking.The dancing hall with parquet floor is great too with the chandeliers up above. I think they just renovated Rachel Lakeside and have a modern look. I love the big windows they installed as more light comes in. Two of the weddings I covered there were done at the gazebo at the back and near the river. I feel that it was like a country like setting. Folding chairs were placed for the guests. As the property is big---probably at least 4 acres or more, even a thousand guess can fit into the ceremony ground outside. All the weddings I covered had bright sunny days. But with the big function building in front, I see no problem in having the ceremony inside. The formal photo shoot was a breeze for me as the river at the back as a good background. I also like the big trees as they were good props for the shoot. A big recommend for me. I give it a 4 star as it is a bit far from Boston for Boston weddings. But for couples in the South Shore and Rhode Island, it is a great place for a wedding. Food was also good especially the soup. read more

My fiancé and I attended a wedding here in November. Easy to get to- no problems with lots of parking. Beautiful trees on the lakeside with a nice area in the back get married. Although the couple didn't use it they did a fantastic set up inside. Food was great ! Loved the chicken which i normally would pass on. Garlic mashed great too! Waitstaff and bars staff were super friendly and inviting! What a great place for a event !!!!! read more

Wow, I am amazed at how bad the food was, I asked Steph the manager she rolled her eyes and told me they get the food from whites which is re-heated from frozen bags, she said she often gets complaints that she brings up to the owners but they are stubborn and wont change. Also Tyler the waiter spilled hot tea in my lap instead of apologizing he smirked, walked away, and smelled of pot. To make matters worse they never got me another napkin to clean up, I went to the bathroom and there were feces all over the place I ran into the kitchen to tell someone and there were cockroaches running on the walls and waiters picking food from plates, YUCK at that point I had seen enough grabbed my jacket and ran out of there. NEVER AGAIN! read more

If your looking for a decent priced hall for a wedding, this would be it. The prices are reasonable compared to other wedding function halls. I did only give 1 stars for more than one reason. The staff that worked my wedding reception (remind you they do more than one wedding at a time) were nice and friendly but they allowed guest and photographers from the other weddings to walk through my reception during dinner! When I mentioned it to them they didn't seem to care and blew it off. You share a bathroom with 2 other halls which they never mentioned and I never would have thought to ask, I found out a week before my wedding when I asked where the bathroom was located. They allowed the guest of the other functions to just walk into my wedding reception, I had to ask multiple people to leave. Some of my decorations were not set up that I dropped off and others were not set up the way I asked them to. At the end of the night there was a problem with the plumbing and you weren't able to flush the toilets or wash your hands! And lastly I did not receive some of my items at the end of the night such as the top to my cake, the cake decorations and my personalized cake topper (which was going to be put into our wedding album). At the end of the night, no staff is to be found to ask any questions to, seems they were all at the other functions. When I contacted them, they responded yes we have it, why was I not contacted when they realized? No answer to that question. When I went to pick up my items, no where to be found so I was told they would find them and mail them to me so I didn't have to wait around. Hmmm time goes by no word on my items so I contact them back and they mailed it to the wrong address, and I gave her the correct address to mail it to because we had moved. So at that point I was upset because I figured I wouldn't be getting these items back, 4 months later I receive an envelope from them with my cake topper and one decoration from the cake! Now as most people know cake toppers are very breakable. My cake topper was mailed in a white card envelope and when I opened it it was in 3 pieces! I'm glad it made it back to me but you would think a place you spent $8000 at for a few hours would have a decency to mail a breakable item the correct way. Yes the food is delicious but not so sure I'd recommend this place after my experience! read more
