She's highly skilled and uses an incredible array of techniques to get at and work the muscles causing the client pain. Marianne is also very empathetic and understanding of the challenges faced by clients who are in pain. She's fearless in getting to the root cause of the muscle issue. She has strong hands and uses her elbows expertly to apply more pressure when needed. I was referred to Rob by a friend of mine who had gotten great results. I started seeing him on a regular basis over a year ago. He has been trying to rebalance my body after 40 years of "positional trauma " due to my profession. He is very knowledgeable in various aspects of massage and can find areas that are troublesome even when I think the problem is coming from somewhere else...for example, my knee pain was from tightness in my hip! I've been in twice now for a Swedish deep tissue with Robert (#60 Clear Coat & Buff is what they call this service) and it's been an excellent experience both times. I've had over a dozen good massage experiences in the Seattle area, but this place was a new level of professional and thorough. Do you know what is like to wake up every morning in pain? To wake up in the middle of the night in pain, and then cry because of the pain? I do. My government job changed my quality of life six years before I retired. Thank goodness for Century Massage's staff. I only know Robert and Gwen, are the body massage caretakers for me! I know they have other staff members but these two work for me, AMAGINGLY! Rob and Gwen have different caretaking massage styles but this is what I need to have a few less crying nights of pain. I've been coming to Century Massage for over a year now and highly recommend it. Everyone there is warm and friendly, and the office is nicely decorated and comfortable. There's plenty of easy parking, too. As a plus size woman, I really appreciate that Lyn treats me and my body exactly the way she'd treat a smaller person. I don't have to worry that she's secretly wrinkling her nose or anything. Lyn is very practical, fantastic at remembering my preferences and persistently achy spots from session to session, and great at listening to what I need at each session and working on those specific spots. Her massage style is pretty firm, but not painful. Definitely more therapeutic than the gentle-touch spa-style massage, which I like. I have seen Lyn who is amazing and helps me with hip issues while I do Tahitian dance, I have seen Lyn, Robert for prenatal massages, both are great!
