Century Oasis Pool & Spa did a beautiful job hardscaping and landscaping my back, front, and side yards. They built a travertine patio in the backyard, hardscaped side yards with pavers and rocks, added a mulch bed to my side yard, and rebuilt a retaining wall. The project manager (Amanda) and owner (Giancarlo) were both professional, helpful and available throughout the entire process. They were also able to accommodate additional projects at the last minute, including adding a French drain system to one of the side yards. Everyone involved was committed to making us 100% happy with the end product, whether that meant changing out chipped travertine tiles, recommending different design options, or making several trips to the worksite to plan out project details and ensure everything was 100% up to par. I'm sharing an update of my personal experience with dealing the owner of Century Oasis Pool & Spa of McKinney, Texas, Giancarlo. Instead of trying to fix a faulty landscaping job, Giancarlo Medrano, responded with homophobic and profanity laced texts detailing how he would confront me, has a gun and threatened to send "his people" over. He also proceeded to label the house that he worked on (a rental property that I manage) as "cheap" and then goes on to brag about his rental property. He seemed so extremely proud about his financed house. Anyway, I had blocked his phone number after the incident but could see more of his texts through my old Apple ID. In these texts, he went from playing Mister Tough Guy to the victim and claimed that I had been the one who harassed and threatened to kill him and claims to have made police and FBI reports. A complete 180 and a testament to his character. What a quality guy. If you run into any problems with his work, be prepared for a load of excuses and insults. Summary of communications via phone calls and texts: *Half year of receiving the run-around (ie. Too busy, out of town, admin forgot to get back to me, blamed others, etc.) to fix the flowerbeds and add the missing drain holes *After many months passed thinking that Giancarlo was working to schedule in a fix, he started blaming the situation on his cousin. He then suggested that I pay a small amount, to which I found agreeable, for the flowerbeds to be fixed. Now he claims that I wanted a free fix... go figure. *I warned Giancarlo about the consequences for not taking ownership of this situation. Gave plenty of opportunities to fix before posting a review that seemed to upset him. *Giancarlo continues to claim that I own the home despite me explaining over the phone that I wasn't the owner and that I just there to help manage the property. *Giancarlo threaten to sue me. I gave him my lawyer's contact and I have yet to receive any contact attempts. *Giancarlo claims that I would be contacted by the police and FBI. I have yet to receive any contact attempts. In conclusion, I can't say that I would recommend doing business with an egotistical owner who tries to gip you at every corner, changes stories and takes no responsibility. I won't lie, I was very skeptical at first but Giancarlo and Amanda came through big time and finished my pool 3 days before the date they told me when we signed our contract. With all the shortages in supply, they were able to navigate and offer different solutions. I'm very happy and my kids are obsessed with their new back yard. read more

This is a review I hoped I wouldn't have to write. I found this company on Facebook and reached out to have them build a stone wall around my front flowerbeds. We agreed on a price and design and then the fun began. Overall, we had a few communication issues leading to incorrect stone pattern and mortar color but the end result is growing on me. There were a few other issues getting what we agreed on for the price: 1. Agreed on 3 yards of soil being added, they likely brought 1.5 yards in bags but never reduced the price. 2. They agreed to put down new weed blocker fabric but simply reused the fabric I installed 2 years prior 3. As mentioned above, the design and colors were not as we agreed via writing. We were then told they would provide plants at cost and charge a 50% fee to plant them, their costs were reasonable so we proceeded with an additional $950 in plants/trees... the guy delivering them showed me their invoice, I did not pay cost, every item was marked up by 20%. Then, upon wrapping up and leaving the property, their guys took my new water hose and sprinkler,$75-100 worth of my property. I have since reached out to them daily and been told it would be returned "tomorrow"... we have had a little over a week of "tomorrow's" since the job was completed. The guys were nice and while the stone work isn't exactly as I had requested, it did turn out nice but if I had to do it over again, I would likely try a different company. They had the ability to be great but ruined it with all the little issues and lack of communication and responsive action when things didn't go as requested. My advice: ensure you get what you paid for (I feel I was shorted $100 in soil and $75 in weed blocking fabric), ignore the great deal they will pass along on plants, and ensure you stash your personal items out of view or risk them walking off. I'll be sure to update this review if they make it right. read more

Originally this business seemed promising but once I simply asked them to work with me on their estimate given it was much more than the other 5 companies I was estimating with, they never responded. I guess my business wasn't important enough or maybe they didn't take me serious, but i don't recommend this business due to the fact of bad customer service and response. You could have at least just told me no and I could have moved on. Instead, you all decided to just never respond. Thats bad customer service and business practice. read more

I wanted a slab built off of my patio in my backyard. The owner suggested a nice travertine top to the slab at a very reasonable additional charge. Once the work was done I wasn't 100% happy with the trim work. What really made the biggest impact was once I mentioned my expectations were higher the owner went above and beyond to ensure I was 100% happy with the work.
