All of the possible classes are listed in their website. I would be hard to pick a favorite class. Each of the classes is taught by a different artist or expert in that class. There are 2 different areas where the classes are taught one in the back and one in the middle section. The website has a description of each class that is offered as well as the requirements that you need to bring for the class. The ability to walk out with a project that you learned how to make is priceless. I highly recommend going to a class at My New Favorite Thing or just going shopping. Local artists each get a section to display. I will be going back for more projects.

Signed up with three friends for a cold and sunny Saturday and had a great time in class. The instructor Jackie (or Jacquie or Miss Jackie) was wonderful, kept the class on time, was educational, supportive. I had two books finished before I left. A quick wander through the store showed me that I had never seen a store with as many papers as ArtQuest has to offer. Sadly, I will be back. When we arrived the sales lady was clearly busy, but didnt acknowledge us until we stood there for sometime. Trying to look at machines with carts and boxs stacked in the way. She asked us what we wanted, and then told us that she would be busy with this customer for more than an hour and she had an out of state appointment after that. She was very rude. She said we could look but we would have to return tomorrow. She didn't bother to move the carts or boxes so we could get to the machines to look at them. My husband finally moved things out of the way so I could look at the machines. She didn't apologize or acknowledge us after that. My husband and I decided to buy from somewhere else, an hour away. I understand completely if you're overwhelmed and cant help us. But you could be a little nicer about it and express to us that you're sorry you cant help us and offer to move things so I can at least look.

We soon got down to business for the party, and the gentleman by the registers walked us up and down the aisles to get exactly what we needed, and even gave cost-saving options for some stuff. Now, this Blick isn't two floors, in fact their one floor is only a fraction of that other store, but not every location can be that stacked. It's a smaller footprint but they pack a lot in. You don't usually get to see ceramic glazes and underglazes in arts & craft stores but they carry some which made me really happy as I was able to find a few of the underglazes I had been looking for. They also carry the Mayco brand (which no other ceramics specialty shops in the area I've been to carry) and I was able to find a few of their colors that I had had on my wish list. They have a ton of brushes, canvas, paints, pencils, solvents, etc, etc. All at various price points, so no matter what your background is, professional artist or novice, you can find something to either get you started or help you hone your craft. In addition to the art supplies they do have a small section of some miscellaneous gifty-type things which are also fun to browse (many of which would make great stocking stuffers). My last visit I got a keychain tape measure and I can't tell you how often I use that thing. Best couple of bucks I've ever spent! The other thing worth noting is that they do offer a "buy online pick up in the store" option which is great if you're in a hurry. If they don't have what you're looking for in shop they can find it for you in their online store. I have asked the staff on more then one occasion if they have anymore of an item, and the response is if I don't see it out then there isn't anymore. When asked when it will come back in I'm told 2 weeks. That doesn't help when doing a project for school and given a time frame of less then a week to accomplish it. The staff is always friendly though, I don't blame them for a lack of supplies. They also have a really good picture framing department in the back. If you check their weekly flyer you can always find a 40-50% off coupon . I do shop here a lot so I have the Michael's app. on my iPhone so I always get the most up to date coupons. It's been a hot minute since I did drawing and I've never water colored before. In fact I only did black and white art until March when I started Water color. I share in Sasha's passion to create. I'm loving all I'm learning and sasha has created a little community in her studio with all of her students. It just feels so right to be there.
