You write down all of your favorites and then narrow it down your list to the top 4 scents you think smell best together to create your own signature candle. You can also make a reed defuser, room spray, or soap as an alternative option. Before pouring the wax and mixing your scents, you choose from their selection of jars, ranging in price around $40-60. After creating your candle and naming your scent, it takes around 90-120 minutes for it set. I think the experience could be elevated with a few things: An option to customize your candle with glitter, color of wick, color of wax, ability to select a cute label with your scent's name or create one, even a label maker would do the trick. They have some cute vessels, but I would love to see more variety in different styles, colors, and sizes. I asked the owner, Marleen what ingredients were in the fragrance oils and she couldn't really give me a complete answer other than they are not 100% essential oils but they're synthetic and safe because they don't buy them from overseas. hmmm.... With that said, I'm sure they contain toxins like phthalates and ethyl methoxycinnamates. Reputable brands of oils will clearly label their products and disclose all the components. I try to use scents, body care, and household cleaners free from toxins so this is a little concerning not knowing what chemicals are in the candle. I'm sensitive to irritants which aggravate my asthma and also give me headaches. I just wish i knew for sure what was in this magical potion of oils we mixed. Overall, I had a fun time and made some great memories. It's a unique activity for a date night or group outing with friends that all ages can enjoy.

We started by smelling several scents, they have 90 scents to smell - I skipped some that weren't appealing like bacon and old books LOL Be sure to grab you a bag of coffee beans to cleanse your scent palette. I don't want to spoil the process so I won't tell you everything! So just go ahead and make a reservation, the fee goes towards your reservation at the end. I'm going to wait 2 weeks before light my custom candle so that I get the best scent payout. It's worth the money. You can make a candle, room diffuser, and/or room spray. I walked inside and the lady who greeted me told me she would be just a minute. Nobody else was in the store so I don't know why I had to wait for her to ring me up. I asked for a paper bag with handles. She had given me a plastic bag with handles. Her response was, no your bag has handles. You can't have that one. I was very much taken aback by her rude and abrupt tone and the fact that she would not give me a paper bag. I will never go back to a store that would be so cheap as to not give a customer a paper bag upon request

I've been bad about scrapbooking this summer as I've been busy with other activities. I kept…read moretelling myself I'd go here and check the place out and finally made it in yesterday, and I'm pretty glad I did. Scrapbook stores are few and far between these days, so sometimes you have to go a little bit out of your way to find one, especially one that you like. There's so much to love about this store I can't rave enough good things. It's not huge, but honestly, none of them are. For starters, their selections amazing in regards to paper, stickers and other items. I was super happy with the prices and selection and really got a lot done when I was here. The owner lady was running the show here and she really knows her stuff. They have an open crop area where you can bring your supplies and work on whatever projects your doing at that time. The lady said that cropping stops at 5, so keep that in mind. It's also a $10 fee which doesn't get offset regardless if you buy something or not. $10 is reasonable, as some places charge $15. I don't think they have any late night crops, but after looking at the calendar at the check out, it appears they do have regular events that you can sign up for. I love doing these especially in the winter when there's not a whole lot to do outside and the weather's poor. So, here's where I deducted a star. While this store is fabulous in a lot of ways, it lacked in others that I felt the need to discuss. For starters, they don't have a good dye cut machine here. The other two stores in the area have them, but this store seems to have one that just plain sucked. Machine was small and hard to use, the alphabet selection was sucky. I got one letter done and said to heck with this and left it for another time and place. Secondly, they don't have a photo printing machine. Ok, I know that's an expensive investment, but on top of everything else, I was like this is super annoying. Mind you, you can stop at any CVS, Walgreens, Meijer or whatever store you want to print, it just means extra time doing something that some stores do provide. I let this slide since I'm sure those machines are expensive. Thirdly, on top of a sucky dye cut machine, they don't even have a proper paper cutter. Like even the ones you used to have in school. I used to have one to carry around myself, but they aren't that great and I quit keeping one on me. Sometimes you need even lines done precisely for the sake of making the project look good. Scissors are great, but not the end all for cutting photos and paper that can be thick and heavy at times. Overall this place is really awesome and the owner has lots of cool stuff to buy. I would love to see her at least upgrade her dye cut machine to something better, and even get a decent paper cutter for general jobs. Lots of space to crop and they have decent hours. They are closed on Sundays, so make sure you stop in on a Saturday if you can. Definitely worth the time and effort to check this place out.

Green Hippo was my favorite shop in this cute town and I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in downtown Orion Charter Township.
