Having worked with laminate flooring myself, I found that odd, not to mention unprofessional. Within a month, i.e., by October 2020, the vinyl plank had snapped like a cracker right by the entry door. I called Mark Mateev, emailed him, texted him - all to no avail. I called the local office of floor coverings international and later called the national office - again, no response. Before hiring Mark, I recall asking about the other review on this site about their poor customer service and he dismissed it saying the parts took a while, but he had fixed their problem. A follow-up was scheduled for February 19 but had to be rescheduled, and I spent weeks repeatedly trying to get him to return. Most messages went unanswered. When he did respond, it did not result in a plan to complete the work. Instead, he claimed multiple return attempts that did not match the well documented timeline and repeatedly blamed unrelated factors, prior construction, personal matters and accusations (falsely accused me of being Islamophobic) etc., rather than taking responsibility for his unsatisfactory, incomplete work. Because of his false accusations, manipulative behavior, and breakdown in communication, I reasonably declined further access to my home. He also refused a refund, claiming the money was already spent, which is unacceptable when work remains incomplete. Overall: incomplete work, poor communication, lack of accountability, unprofessional conduct.

It reminded me of the difference between a doctor who just says take some Advil versus one who actually takes time to understand what's going on and how it's affecting your quality of life. That's what you need for a shower that gets used multiple times a day. When you find someone skilled who actually gives a damn, that's one less thing weighing on your mind. For the quality Adam delivered, the price was dead on - honestly probably a little inexpensive. Communication and clean up were better than expected. I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project.
