Overall, Dr. Sklarek, is a skilled physician with remarkable bedside manner. Unfortunately, his front desk staff are atrocious. Alexus who has been with the practice for quite some time is beyond, rude, abrupt and unprofessional. If it weren't for my trust in Dr. Sklarek, I would have left the practice due to his front desk staff. He is well aware of the lack of compassion, and professionalism conducted by the gals at the front desk. I've decided to ignore the hateful young woman at the front desk. Receiving quality health care is far more important.

However, when you press the Meeting House Lane Medical Practice within the Stony Brook Southampton website, if you are a patient you can get your record and a lot of other personal patient information. However, it does not have a listing in that patient portal of the medical professionals working within the Meeting House Lane Medical Practice. My experience with the doctors who work within that practice is excellent. But unless you know beforehand, or get a paper listing from one of Meeting House Lane Medical Practice members, you would be unable to secure that information online. You have to already be a patient of one of the medical professionals within this group.

Doctor was dismissive of my ailments and recommended physical therapy when it was not even a factor. Dr. Fein told me to get better insurance & that mine was garbage, that he couldn't make any money off of it and was harassing me. Didn't spend more than 5 mins with me. Pushing his political views every second. When I was leaving, he made a stir about me not looking at his wall art in his office that he did & made me double back to go in and look at it and pay him compliments. On top of it, I told him I had a mental ailment, which he said I didn't when he didn't know me for a few mins. Last i checked, you're not a physiologist. Really unprofessional mannerisms. He's not a person you would feel comfortable being vulnerable with, I'll say that much. My new doctor listened to me for over an hour and saw what I needed, which was chest x-rays and 6 blood exams -- Never in my life have I dealt with such a negligent medical doctor. Ridiculous.

She was patronizing…read more later Dr Marano looked at the x-rays and and an MRI of my hip and said I had a stress fracture and should go to the Emergency Room at once. I went to Lenox Hill next day because it was part of the Northwell Group so I thought they could access the X-rays . They can't so took new X-rays. Sat in ER in robe for 4 hrs awaiting surgery. Orthopedists at Lenox said they saw no fracture and they would not admit me. went back to Dr Marano to question the fracture diagnosis. He said he errs on the side of caution and it is an imprecise area. I then went to an orthopedist at HSS who also said no fracture and diagnosed Bursitis. Getting a second opinion tomorrow back at NY Orthopedists. Conclusion: Serious doubts about competency at Oler and Cohen, Southampton.

I ended up going elsewhere to determine my problem. Another time, out of desperation, with shoulder pain, I went back to this practice. I left with a diagnosis. Later, I called the office to ask if there was something they could give me for pain relief. The office said I had to come in again for a prescription. Another visit. Another payment. I was given a prescription for pain cream that could have been given to me first visit. These guys sure know how to rack up the charges.
