It's not fancy but they're not roughing it either. It's just the right mix of Topanga nature-inspired tranquility sprinkled with breezy silliness. This is a happy place and you feel it as soon as you arrive. Feels good to leave my son here knowing he's going to have a great day and come home dirty and tired with stories he's eager to share. 5th year and now a Jr Leader - what a lovely place to learn, grow and laugh through childhood summers.

We absolutely love Cali Camp!…read more I have two boys, and both have had an amazing experience there. My older son loved it so much that he is now becoming a Junior Leader, which says everything about how meaningful Cali Camp has been for him. My younger son, who is in 2nd grade, went for the first time last year and is already so excited to go back. What really stood out to me was how quickly they both adapted. My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. It has been such a special part of our family's life.

Seeing that Viewpoint has 4 stars and not 5 is proof that noting is perfect for everyone...not even…read morea school like Viewpoint. I will say, however, that Viewpoint is as close to "perfect" as a school could be. It is 6 stars in my book. I can't say enough about how the school is run, the individualized care, the facilities, the programs, curriculum. My son started in 7th grade and he is now is 11th and I literally have a smile on my face when I picture him being at Viewpoint. Easily, what stands out the most is the fact everyone in the faculty and administration seem to know my kid, personally...they are invested in all the kids..they aren't anonymous...my son feels like he is in a family type environment where people truly care about his welfare inside and outside of the classroom. That is a very rare characteristic for a school. I can't think on one single aspect of my son's education, from academics to administration, to sports, etc., that have not been handled with the highest level of care and professionalism. And, he has built a tremendous friend base at Viewpoint...definitely his second family. If Atticus Finch were to teach at a school...he just might pick Viewpoint. I will look back on Viewpoint and say it was perhaps the best money I have ever spent...and easily one of the proudest contributions that I have made to my son's young life. His mom and I got this one right!

I also sprinkled in sports and art. Some weeks I chose half day and others whole day. The boys enjoyed the classes and made greater friends. The courses are taught by instructors with student assistants. The sports course my sons took (basketball) was not intense and was mostly fun. I liked that a hot breakfast was included in the camp price and they were able to purchase lunch or bring their own if they stayed for the rest of the day. This camp is great for students who want to maintain academics with flexibility of weeks to choose from. My boys are very shy and the fact that they felt comfortable and enjoyed going to camp is another reason why I'm giving five stars.

Eh, it's a pass for me. This camp is run by a bunch of middle and high school kids. She also came home upset about the kids bullying her and the counselors did nothing about it. After care is literally a movie in a storage room - I also walked in on the babysitter yelling at my daughter. Again, livid. The straw that broke the camels back was I forgot to pay for lunch for the week (but thought I did) - they didn't even feed my kid and bill me later (which would've been the humane thing to do). My daughter was bored - Spark is worksheets, and the extra fee for arts and crafts/drawing was them tracing and building crafts we could do at home.
