Our favorite place to get bubble tea! My favorites are the Pink Lady and the Brown sugar milk too. They are always delicious and the staff is always helpful!

Cha House was hit or miss. Pros: * Easy online ordering. Phone-friendly user interface. * Oolong Classic Milk Tea and Lychee Fruit Tea were good. * Pudding and lychee popping boba toppings were good. * Snacks / Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken and Bubble Waffle were decent. * Eco-friendly cups, lids, straws, and cup holders (compostable straws and cup holders). * Trash, compost, and recycle containers in-store. * Spacious cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. * Generally good service. Friendly and polite staff. Cons: * Strawberry Matcha Latte was not good. * Dirty Tiger Milk was not great. * Boba was not great. Too hard. * You must pay to park during certain hours, as far as I know. * Drinks aren't film-sealed, so there's a higher risk of leaks and spills. Regarding parking, we parked for free across the street on Daisy St. It was free because we visited on a Saturday. Street parking in the immediate area is enforced Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm. I think you can also park in the garage of the building that Cha House is located in, the Stanhope Student Apartments. There are entrances to the garage on both Friendly Dr (around the corner) and ME Valentine Dr (back side of building). I don't know if you have to pay to park in the garage. Cha House offers a decent variety of tea, milk tea, fruit tea, bubble tea, etc. and toppings plus ice cream, macarons, and Taiwanese snack food items like the aforementioned Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, Bubble Waffle, and larger "entree" sized dishes such as Pork Chops ($7.47 and up) and Tea Stew Pork Rice Plates ($8.99). Many drinks are available hot or cold in two sizes, medium and large. I believe the medium is 16 ounces and large is 24 ounces. They also offer cream/foam milk caps (e.g., cream cheese, coconut cream, strawberry cream), but they were all out of stock during our visit. Prices listed in this review were at the time of our visit. We got the Oolong Milk Tea with "classic" milk (whatever that means; I think it's powdered or instant milk), half sugar, little ice, and pudding. We got the Lychee Green Tea with half sugar, little ice, and lychee popping boba. In medium size, both of these drinks were $5.30 each. We enjoyed both of these drinks. The Oolong Milk Tea had a good balance of tea, milk, and sweet flavors. The pudding was delicious. The Lychee Green Tea was refreshing. Online, the topping option was simply listed as "lychee," so we were expecting actual pieces of lychee fruit. Instead, we got lychee popping boba. The popping boba was fine and it matched the drink well, but it wasn't what we expected. In general, I recommend the oolong and fruit tea here. The Strawberry Matcha Latte (medium, $7.10) looked pretty, but it didn't taste good. We ended up taking only a few sips and tossing it, unfortunately. The Dirty Tiger Milk (medium, $4.90) wasn't as bad - I was able to make it through most of it. I'm a fan of sweet, sugary, milk drinks, but the flavor wasn't all there on this one. And, as mentioned above, the boba was too hard. Cha House's Dirty Tiger Milk drink is their take on the popular Tiger Sugar brand's signature brown sugar boba drink. I had mine prepared with fresh milk. Other milk options included soy, almond, coconut, oat, and macadamia (they were out of macadamia milk when we visited). Also, the outside of my Dirty Tiger Milk drink was served sticky. They forgot/didn't wipe the outside of the cup after preparing the drink. The Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken (snack size, $6.79) and Bubble Waffle with caramel drizzle ($6.50) were par for the course. This was an online takeout order, so they were packed into boxes with no holes for ventilation. Therefore, both the chicken and waffle got wet (and in the waffle's case, a little soggy) due to the condensation. Quality was fine, though. I just wish the chicken nuggets were crispy. They also tasted under-seasoned compared to the Taiwanese popcorn chicken I've had from other bubble tea places. It's great how Cha House is local, independent, and environmentally-friendly unlike the big chain bubble tea brands. I will say for to-go orders, it's easier to transport drinks from a place like Kung Fu Tea because the drinks are film-sealed and served in waterproof bags. Here, you have to deal with snap-shut lids with straw holes and cupholders similar to a fast food restaurant. However, Cha House's approach is better for the environment so it's a commendable tradeoff. At the time of writing this review, there are two Cha House locations: this one in West Raleigh near NC State and one in Cary. According to their website, locations are coming to Miami, Washington DC, Greenville, Wake Forest, and Myrtle Beach. My wife has been to the Chapel Hill location on Franklin St, but it has since closed: https://www.yelp.com/biz/cha-house-chapel-hill. She said the boba there was the same as the boba here, too hard. In this area for bubble tea, we prefer Moge Tee: https://www.yelp.com/biz/moge-tee-raleigh-raleigh.

Same quality as the chapel hill location, but they don't serve the matcha slush here. We got: Thai tea with boba Mango matcha Strawberry matcha All of our drinks were well balanced flavors esp between the matcha and fruit purées. Service was fast and friendly and the interior is clean and big enough for a small crowd. Parking is metered parking in downtown Raleigh.

Super delicious lunch here today. Stopped by as we had some things to do at NCSU. Hot day, cooler but not fully climate controlled inside. Interior is whimsical and fun. Comfortable seating and cozy nooks. Staff was friendly and fast. The bubble teas were great. Love their boba. We got the fried chicken and waffle. Perfection! The waffle is an array of small round spheres with a soft interior and a slightly crunchy crust. Fried chicken bites and maple syrup top the giant waffle. The sweet savory combo was divine. Also tried the fried pork which was delightful as well.

Stopped for a beverage, ordered the pink lady since I felt a little pressured to order but it did not have a description I could see, it just sounded interesting. The order took a little while to prepare but came out beautiful looking. A layered drink of red and pink. After taking it back to my car, I found out the drink contains strawberries, lime, and condensed milk. It tastes similar to a strawberry lemonade but much better. Will give Cha House another try some time but will look at menu online to figure out my order in advance so I am not trying to make a choice from the expansive menu board.

Thanks to Offline Raleigh I got to try out Cha House on Hillsborough Street. It's doubtful I will make this a regular stop given the difficulty of finding parking, but the drink and food were both good. It'd be a nice spot if you're a student and can simply walk over. The interior is bright and modern looking. I'd used their online ordering system (which they mistakenly made the previous day when I placed the order because they didn't see it was for a future time) so I walked on in. There was one person ahead of me and I was then told my order was ready at the other end. It seemed to be an all girl crew and they were all nice. The tofu rice plate was really good. I was a bit unsure about the brown egg but it tasted normal. It could have used a little more sauce but was overall tasty, as was my purple taro tea.

A very trendy bubble tea place. A good amount of seating inside. Both drinks and food on the menu. The taro and matcha latte was delicious. A different flavor half way through to taste. I liked all the choices of non dairy milks available. Boba was soft which isn't the case at every bubble tea place. It was cooked well. My parking garage ticket was validated too. Nice perk.

So chill, lights are dim so it makes for a perfect study area. Music is low and lofi vibes. They also offer free WiFi

Loved the service I received! Went as part of my offline promotion. The front register person was really nice and helpful! Prices for food are very appropriate. There are some cozier spots and some bar stools for seating all though I took my meal and tea togo. I had the classic milk tea with honey boba and the boba was a great texture.

London Fog with lavender. It is amazing.

Wonderful staff, very friendly. Loved the London fog with lavender. Atmosphere is quiet. Great place to sit and chat.

This has been my go-to spot for milk tea in the area because it's the closest one to us and brings me back to fond memories of studying there during undergrad. Absolutely adorable decor, natural lighting - it's open, spacious, cozy and modern. They have solid wi-fi and a decent amount of seating options including a couple couches for a softer touch. Milk tea offerings are pretty standard between creamy and fruit flavored options, the basic toppings and different non-dairy milk options (which are great for people who are sensitive like me! Just sucks you get charged up to a whole dollar extra for something you can't help, but eh.) I only really get a few of the drinks because I'm a little particular, but the quality of the ingredients are great. The paper straws are an awesome idea in theory because I'm all for environmentally friendly initiatives, but in execution, they kind of just fall apart after like 20 minutes so... maybe some room for design improvement there. Online ordering is also a lifesaver if you're in a pinch. One of my favorite things about Cha House is that in addition to milk tea, they also have actual food and snacks in case you're feeling peckish. Spicy Thai chicken bowl, popcorn chicken bowl and popcorn tofu have been my usual favs; the scallion pancake is good too if you want something small and unique. Overall, it's a bit overpriced considering two large drinks plus a tip comes out to like $20 but I guess with the area it sort of makes sense. Still worth dropping by for a pick-me-up, to get some work done or meet with friends. I'd say a highlight is that the atmosphere is great for pretty much anything.

As a fan of the original Cha House in Chapel Hill, I was super excited to hear about the new location coming to Hillsborough Street. It has the same feel with concrete floors and a light, bright white space along with the same menu of boba teas, fruit teas and Asian snacks. Order up front and then grab one of the communal high-tops or small tables/couches in the back. The space is still a bit sparse right now but I suspect it will get improved over time. What's also still great is the high quality boba teas. And I've also had a chance to try some of their dishes like the popcorn chicken and tea-stewed pork plate which were both excellent. While the area is a bit tough to get to, Cha House Raleigh is worth the effort and I'm pretty sure it's already a popular choice for the NC State crowd....

I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. It is commonly stone-ground and available from local Kansas millers. 6. The star of the show was the Everything Croissant. Like the Everything Bagel but soft and buttery. Topped with all the sesame seeds and seasonings with a cream cheese interior. So good! I do plan on returning!

The perfect coffee roaster might actually exist -- and it might be Black & White Coffee Roasters in…read moredowntown Raleigh. I'm a big fan of lighter-roasted, funky, expressive coffees, and Black & White absolutely delivers. Their roasting style leans into vibrant, fruit-forward profiles, and they do it with confidence. The downtown Raleigh location is fantastic too. It's right in the middle of everything, making it a great stop for a date night, meeting up with friends, or just dropping in for a quick but exceptional cup. Their seasonal menu was small but mighty -- just a couple of options -- but the kind where every drink looks so good you wish they'd never rotate them off the menu. I started with the orange cardamom flat white, and it was perfect in every way. Beautifully presented and incredibly balanced. The espresso, milk, orange, and cardamom all complemented each other without any one flavor taking over. It was nuanced, aromatic, and just a joy to drink. For my second drink, I ordered a Rodrigo Sanchez pour-over, a co-fermented Colombian coffee labeled with passion fruit notes. It was everything I want from a pour-over -- bright, juicy, and expressive, with the kind of sweet stone fruit and berry notes that make light-roasted coffee so exciting. Black & White continues to prove why they're one of the most respected specialty roasters around. If you love adventurous coffee with huge flavor and careful execution, this place is an absolute must-visit.

Since I was so close, an Idle Hour had 30 minutes until closing, I thought I would go in for a Iced Chai Latte--one of my favorites--I love the way Isle Hour makes it, FLAVOR TOWN! Even though it was 30 degrees outside, I still ordered the Iced Chai Tea Latte. I knew that I would be very comfortable in their lounge area. After I ordered, I saw the Hot Chocolate Bomb at the countered. I asked the staff member about it and ordered that also. The Hot Chocolate Bomb is the BOMB --Delicious! I drank my Chai Latte after and was not disappointed. Staff is great--friendly and enthusiastic. Atmosphere very homey.

I recently found a hair baked in in my blueberry banana bread and the cashier was quick to rectify this w the option of refund/replacement. Their bakery desserts are beautiful but they aesthetics are as far as my compliments go for them. I tried the strawberry raspberry cheesecake and majority of it was gelatin and chocolate. Didnt taste any cheesecake. Maybe their other items are better! The GOAT is yummy but felt very skimpy on the toppings. I wouldnt say their food is their strong suit here.
