My wife and I have come here multiple times, hoping to have a better experience. The food is tasty enough for Thai/curry but they are unable to understand the concept of mild spice. I can handle the heat but they ruined my wife's. First two times we came her curry was mild enough, then the last three times, she couldn't even finish it because of the spice. I guess by asking for it mild it prompts them to spice it up. So when we complained about it, the waitress got annoyed and suggested maybe it was the weather that made the meal too hot. Wtf? Pad Thai was not prepared well for a take out order. Asked for Thai hot and it was so mild and the noodles was soo bad.

The only thing worse than the tasteless food was the service! This has to be the slowest restaurant in Johns Creek. It took 20 minutes just to get three waters and our order placed. An hour later our order of heavily pepper spring rolls came out. Then 20 more minutes for refills on our water, followed by the meal. The food for being Thai had no flavor, on any of the three dishes we had. Service was so slow people were getting ready to walk out. Not sure with all the Thai options this would make my list to even give them a second chance. Have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Great for take out, too! The curries are great, the noodles delicious, soups yummy, and I like a Thai ice tea every now and then. I've always been satisfied with my food here and after having been gone 3 years, i was pleasantly surprised to find them still open when we returned. That means they're doing something right ! Chaba Thai food is so awesome. It's so convenient when I needa catch a movie with my friends. One time I tried the thai hot thinking it would be really really spicy but it wasn't it was really really extremely spicy spicy spicy!!!!!! I took the first bite and my mouth was BURNING UP!!!!!!! Then I drank all the thai tea(which was sweet and amazing it satisfied my craving for something sweet too!). Here's a tip. Thai hot is more than really really spicy sooo if you want spicy i would recommend you to get medium of something. I'm so totally gonna go again when I go to the movies with my friends. Too bad it's really quiet. It's small but the food is really good! And if you want a sweet treat you could order ice cream there(:( there's only coconut and stawberry). Good Thai close to my house! Usually I order ahead and swing by to pick it up on my way home, but I did dine-in once and although the service was a bit slow the food was delicious. Nothing inventive but they do the classics well! Cute atmosphere with a fake tree inside that makes you feel (kinda) like you're outside. read more

I absolutely love Thai food and my husband and I decided to take a chance on Chabba Thai because it is relatively close to where we live and we saw the reviews here on Yelp so thought we may have stumbled upon a goldmine... boy were we mistaken.... While the restaurant is very quaint and cute, I should have known something was wrong when we initially ordered the spring rolls and our waitress went to the freezer behind the counter and pulled the frozen spring rolls out and took them to the kitchen. When the spring rolls came out, although they were piping hot, they had a freezer taste and also lacked the flavor that I'm used to from other Thai restaurants. I ordered my usual, the Spicy Basil Chicken (ordered it Extra Spicy) and my husband ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. First of all, when she brought our food out they both looked EXACTLY the same... RED FLAG... I tried to give the dish the benefit of the doubt and then I tasted it... ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR, so bland and completely lacking the "heat" that I go to thai restaurants for... It was HORRIBLE! My husband wasn't the least bit pleased with his dish either... He said that it tasted like a frozen dinner... actually, he said it may have tasted better if it had just come out of a box. Trust me after leaving this place, we had to go though drive through, because food quantity was very small and I was still starving after stepping out of the door. Why this place serves half the quantity compare to other thai restaurants. And the prices are same as any other. My husband got the hot and sour soup and I had the tofu vegeatable soup to start. He loved his soup. Mine was also good, not a lot of flavor, but the tofu was great. The Panang and Green curry was the best we have eaten in quite a while. The only downside was the Coconut soup which had no taste.

I have been to Chaba Thai many times with my family and friends. Today we went there and the restauramt had few guests and there was only one one waitress for all the tables. We were waiting in our seats and the waitress came in dropped a couple of menus at the table and left. My kids were very hungry so after like 10 minutes, I wnet to the counter and said that we are ready to order. She took another 5 minutes to get to our table and then We ordered Chicken Satay, Tom Kha Soup, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Panang Curry with Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai Noodle. All other food was okay, but my wife tasted the chicken pad thai Noodle and said the chicken did not taste okay, may be not fully cooked. I tried it and it seemed little uncooked. I called the waitress and said that the chicken in the Noodle was not cooked. She didn't even respond to me, she was not apologetic and did not even had the courtesy to say that I will check with chef . We were eating all other entrees that we ordered and waiting for the waitress to come back to us. She never came back to our table. We were done eating everything else except the pad thai noodle, she came back with the check. I asked her, why there was no response for my earlier comment on the chicken. She went in and got the chef/cook. The cook was another girl and she said that this is the same chicken that we served 60 customers today and no one complained. I told her, I don't know what you served to other customers but this chicken in the noodle tastes like little uncooked. She said again that this is the same chicken from the same bucket that we serve all customers and every one else likes it. And at the end she said something that ticked me off. She said "This is the way we cook it, may be you should not eat here". This is the worst customer service experience that I ever had, I just walked out of there ofcourse after paying for the food. Chaba Thai is actually in Johns Creek, right across the river from Duluth off of Pleasant Hill Road/State Bridge Road and Medlock Bridge. It is in the same shopping center as Cold Stone Creamery, Regal Theaters, Starbucks, Twister Taco, and Tilted Kilt (in the latter places section). It is a very small place with only a handful of booths (10ish) and a couple of tables. It is usually hot in there during the summer due to a lack of a.c. running. Their menu is traditional thai food so you won't find any sesame chicken here. Most of their entrees are pick and choose, as in you pick what meat it comes with for a certain price. All of it is solid but a favorite is the pad thai. The sauce just seems to be less greasy as another popular thai place in the area. The salads are great. They are large enough to be shared but you might not have any left. The flavors really do play well off of each other and is very well balanced. The sour, the sweet, the spicy, it just all works together. The flavors overall are very light. The sauces aren't very heavy so the ingredients do stand out. Good food overall and a great place to go to in the area especially for a solid price. read more

Nice little Thai restaurant in a small shopping center. We were there on a Saturday night around 8:30 or 9:00 and there were only eight other patrons in the place. The server was a lovely Asian lady and the service was excellent. The four of us ordered different items with different degrees of "heat". We started out with appeitizers of steamed dumplings which were, IMO, the best part of the meal. They were little hot pieces of goodness and I admit to eating more than my share. I ordered the black pepper/garlic chicken (mild) and , though the presentation was a work of art and the vegetables done to perfection, it was very bland. Had there been a salt shaker on the table, I would have used it. My 3 dining companions, who like their food very spicy, did not experience the same and were quite happy. I would give this 3 1/2 stars but can't quite bring myself to do four. Let me also say that the prices are reasonable, the place is spotless and there are no "grease" issues here. I'd return but request some spice next time. read more
