The lights are amazing--they mention over 4 million lights, and it's breathtaking to drive through. You tune your radio to their station and enjoy Christmas music perfectly synced as you make your way along the route. Make sure to dim your headlights for the full effect--it really enhances the experience. A must-do stop is for their hot chocolate and cinnamon bread. Hands down, it's the best I've ever had and adds such a cozy touch to the evening. Kids would absolutely love this place, especially with the fun surprises sprinkled throughout the drive. Just driving by and saw m the lights so we drove through on a whim. Oh man, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that would have made it better is if we had the grandkids with us. They have hot cocoa etc that you can buy part way through. There were also live animals, Frosty and a Grinch. Mr. and Mrs. Claus made an appearance too. There were multiple nativity sets. Nice drive through light show and music on FM 88.3. Very popular on Opening Day for this year. Boys enjoyed the lights and seeing Frosty, Santa and the Grinch. I heard the cinnamon bread is what to get here, but the concession line was long so we drove by it. A little pricey for what it is at $25, but they have a $3 military discount, which I always appreciate. read more

Chad's winter wonderland is amazing! It's better than any of the fairground lights and it's very close like five minutes away from us. We also took our kids and it was so much fun. They have amazing hot chocolate and my kids love seeing the Grinch and Santa. We were able to connect to a radio, which played their Christmas music which was amazing. I recommend this. Fantastic!! With the pandemic halting a lot of our usual Christmas activities, I seeked out these lights and were not disappointed!! To drive through, it was all of about 15 minutes maybe, but was totally worth $20 for us. So many lights, so many fun displays, and a great marked path. Chad's is a fantastic Christmas tradition for the whole family. The drive through takes you through the entire property and allows cars to spread out and take their time. Costumed characters are a fun addition for any young children or pets. Chad's has been able to preserve some of their older displays while continuing to add new ones over the years giving it a very personal feeling. Cinnamon bread and cookies from the concession stand are a great way to end the night. The lights are coordinated to music, but they do have their own radio station plying Christmas favorites. A long time ago, this winter wonderland used to be free and something for everyone to enjoy. However I still enjoy these lights and enjoy the happiness it brings, I do not enjoy the traffic on 109 or enjoy the traffic going down the back roads. It's definitely not easy for my friends and family who like myself live down these roads to leave while passing 30+ cars down the smalls roads. read more

I can appreciate a local guy making a living. There's a lot of hardwood tome and effort put into this light display. $15 per car cash only We're from CHICAGO so we don't have anything like this by us. My boys 9 and 13 enjoyed the display. It was very well put together and cute. We loved seeing Santa wishing us a merry Christmas and telling us to count down until Christmas Then frosty waves good bye in frosty land. We absolutely LOVE Chads! We go every year! My kids are growing up seeing this beautiful display and were excited to see it again this year. It has a beautiful mix of both old and new traditions and we love the tribute to his family at the end of the display. One year they had Cindy Lou Who and she was just adorable! Honestly, this must cost a lot to keep running all month and the cost of living goes up every year. I think it's ridiculous to complain (other reviewers) that he raises the price, so does everyone who owns a business. Also it clearly states on the website they take cash only-which makes sense since digital payments can be cancelled or disputed and you already viewed the show/used the product! Research what your doing beforehand and you wont be disappointed! Can't wait to see Chads this year! We came on to see if he was open yet and since Cv19 has ruined everything else, we'll probably do this awesome "socially distanced" activity 2x this year! read more

Nice little diversion for some holiday spirit. Chad's is a local guy's answer to Jellystone Park. Your drive literally through his yard and grounds through a clearly marked and lighted driveway/path. There are lots of lights, but they are the static display type, not a synchronized moving exhibit. There is a barn area you drive past with live sheep, but you can't stop your car to go pet the sheep or anything. There's also a live Santa nearby that you can wave to, as well as an enthusiastic dancing Frosty the Snowman. I would say at least half of his decor is painted wooden silhouettes lighted by flood lights. It's clearly a labor of love, and I know from online media he's a generous guy that takes much of the proceeds and buys gifts for kids in need. A nice little diversion, but won't compare to Jellystone's lights or even some of the fancier homes that host large displays on their own. read more

We are visiting from New Jersey and we wanted to take our grandchildren, however when we got there it was 20 dollars and they did not let us in. We had to find an atm to go back because the kids started to cry. It is 2019 and you would think they have digital payments like venmo, on the square, etc. On the website it said 15 dollars per car and cash only very dissatisfied and we will never come back. read more

Overpriced, chad goes up every year and it's the same thing every year. He's added a couple of new things but that's it and still goes up every year.
