This campus offers a liberal arts college feeling with many with many buildings, students, staff, faculty, and resources. Similar to many other large campuses or schools across the country, it feels like it is always under construction as new buildings, athletic facilities, and residence halls are built each year. As Ohio State is one of the largest public universities in the country, there is something for everyone whether in-person or online. At Ohio State, every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it there is certainly always something happening whether at the Ohio Union, at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), or in the residence halls or any of the athletics facilities including the Horseshoe (Ohio Stadium). More than 14,000 students live on-campus, and the majority of about 67,000 Ohio State students take courses on the Columbus Campus. While campus resources are easily located in the Ohio Union and Lincoln Tower, many other buildings across the Columbus Campus have academic offices or other student services. The Ohio State staff, faculty, and partners certainly try to do everything they can to support all of the students to ensure they are set up to succeed at Ohio State. Originally founded as only a fraction of the Columbus Campus of today in 1870, the campus has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. Even a student who graduated just over 20 years ago, I am surprised in what the campus looks like today. In fact, I just visited campus for the first time in many years last month and barely recognize parts of campus. Even now, big construction projects include the Mirror Lake District Renovation, North Residential District Renewal, and multi-phase William Oxley Thompson Library Renovation. In fact, as of 2022, there were more than 1400 current construction projects in the works across all Ohio State campuses. As the campus continues to grow, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to more commonly visited areas like the Oval, the Ohio Union, and the RPAC, there is the Thompson Library and Ohio Stadium. There is also the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the Orton Geological Museum, Mirror Lake, the Arne Slettebak Planetarium, Buckeye Grove, the Schottenstein Center, and so many other spots. My regular places to have visited when I was a student were Ramseyer Hall (where I took most of my classes), Taylor Tower, Mack Hall, and Bradley-Paterson residence halls. At Ohio State, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The many student services offices at Ohio State are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources. Based on Catholic history, this quaint but beautiful school has truly grown by leaps and bounds. I remember when it was a college and now they have grown to university status. Most of the students know each other because of its closely knit living quarters. Very safe campus with campus security and even Columbus Police that patrol the area day and night so the students will feel safe. My niece is currently an R.A. and stated that she would choose this school again. If you want to attend here, gaining scholarships or grants will help you along the way.

They ask for volunteers but you are at the mercy of their lousy Dental Students. They have to ask for help from residents who work in pathology and the morgue. There is one student named Yosef who doesn't know what he is doing u just go there as a volunteer and JYosef he can't diagnose anything so they go to pathology to get info probably because the patients mite end up hurt or not make it need pathology I guess to be ready look out disaster. JYosef never answered his phone. If your mouth is bleeding to bad go to your own dentist they do not know how to answer the phone This dental student JYosef has no idea what he is doin. it is crazy enough they use residents from pathology there are also 2 female drs who also are baby sitters for the dental school or dental college The first doctor is a psychiatrist the second physician is a Jacqueline who is a internal medicine physician. You have a dental school who treats students but there are no real dentists available to teach Very Very scary. How they keep their license to teach students are are suppose to become dentists nothing gets done. After Multiple weeks they tell u to go back to your own dentist because they ohio state dental school clinic can't handle real Denistry. I was told what I needed was 2 complicated. I needed a lower denture and perhaps 1-2 implants. They tell u sure they do that kind of work after 5 weeks where these student JYOSEF says he is unable to do the work suggests I go to one of their residences maybe for a Pap smear not real helpful. I don't want any dental work done by a resident who works in pathology or a doctor who is a psychiatrist. Ohio State Dental school is a really horrible stay away if u can. They want volunteers and there is a good chance they have no clue what to do or u cold be harmed you or screw up. This is not a lie the absolute truth. A blow up doll could do better then their dental student JY is one student and C was another student. There is really only one parking garage and the school gives u 5 dollars on your ticket but you still pay at least 16 dollars to park maybe 3 hours. A lost ticket is 50 dollars. I would never go to them to learn anything. You are at the Ohio State Student Clinic in Columbus and The dental students don't know how to do anythin Dr. Reyes Perez who screams at you at the top of her lungs. Really loud screams she makes threats. She needs to be gagged. The volunteer patients are treated badly and you should not let these people at the student clinic do anything. I know 2 people who were there and they gave them a 1 out of 5. Being told that putting in a lower denture is advanced. Dr. Perez also needs a shrink she is a very disturbed and just screams at you.

During this time, the university repeatedly violated its own policies by missing response deadlines they established. After nearly three months, I won my grade appeal, demonstrating that my concerns were valid. However, I am now facing another roadblock: the university registrar's office has not updated my transcript to reflect my earned degree. Because of this, I am missing out on job opportunities, a salary increase, and I am unable to apply to master's programs. My academic and professional life has been in limbo since November, and despite my efforts to follow every required process, the university has shown little urgency or concern for how these delays are impacting me as a student and working professional. This has been one of the most stressful experiences of my academic journey, and I would caution prospective students to consider whether this level of institutional responsiveness aligns with their expectations.

Just last week someone commented that "good football schools aren't usually great schools." Sure…read more I guess. But what if, in fact, the two are completely separate? What of a school that has great athletes and also such breadth that if can be anything you make it? Like Mirror Lake I don't think I'm much different now than I was as an incoming Freshman, though my surroundings have changed a lot. I still watch a lot of hockey and listen to a lot of music. I still find parties and drunkenness annoying. Ohio State taught me how to organize my thoughts and actions. My daughter loves the quality of education that she is receiving at the college but the dorms are less to be desired (of course). The cost of college education is crazy & when you have to add in dorms, & food it's almost unattainable. I do believe that Capital is working to make improvements to the deficits in these areas even though they come at a higher cost. I like that Capital tries to provide part-time jobs for students & it's not just based off of income as some other colleges do. I like that with the school being smaller some professors seem to be more attentive to students & notice things out of the ordinary. I also like that when I was concerned about my sick child & called the president of every department that I could find the number to they all responded & checked on my child as well as returned my phone call! I don't like that sometimes the different departments dont tell each other what's going on. I believe that financial aid & accounts payable should know the same info & able to correctly communicate that to parents & students when clarification is needed. Overall, if my child is happy I'm happy.

This park can be found hidden beneath the streets of Clintonville residents, down in the ravine,…read morewhere water flows and wildlife takes over. I would have never known this was here if a friend didn't live nearby and tell me all about it. On my visit I accessed the park by traveling down some steep stairs and crossing a little bridge that gets you across the small creek that runs through. I quickly discovered a handful of miniature trails that sprawl out from the center of the park and into the little crevasses of the neighborhood bordering the area. I noticed a good number of other park goers, several super happy pups, and unfortunately a ton of trash. This is obviously what caused me to dock a star from my rating, such a bummer. Clean up after yourself people, there was seriously trash everywhere. My favorite part about this park is the tunnel with the giant birds painted across it. The acoustics once you're inside are major and during my visit there was a young man playing a flute. The sound carried so beautifully, it made my day. My second favorite part was spotting an owl high up in a tree. Owls are definitely my spirit animal, so cool! I'll definitely be back to this park. Fingers crossed it's cleaned up a bit.

Glen Echo is a fun ravine to explore, nestled amongst the streets of Clintonville. You can walk…read morethere if you're in the area, or use street parking. There are a few different ways to enter the park - pay attention to signage indicating private property areas and to when some entrances are closed (i.e. during the winter, the steps may be closed if ice is a concern). There's a main path running through the park, next to which are various signs explaining the history and nature of the area, which runs into the tunnel with the beautiful bird paintings, which is, unfortunately, showing its age these days. Other paths branch off, allowing you to explore the nearby woods, and you can also go down what used to be an old street and enjoy that too. It's a nice place to explore near the city!
