I was on the east side for work recently and had a quick break to grab lunch - this spot has been on my radar for their mushroom-based vegan menu for a while. While the restaurant is named after a type of mushroom, and their house-made patties are made with multiple mushrooms, they make a point of saying that their burgers don't taste like mushrooms, which is surprising. Mushroom can be a very polarizing ingredient/flavor so that is probably helpful to mention but as a mushroom lover I was a little disappointed. In any case, I had the Greek Mushroom Mama burger - with fries, tax and tip, my total was a bit under $20. It was a good sized portion for lunch, and the burger came out with great presentation. I was a little apprehensive about the use of vegan feta and plant-based provolone cheeses but the flavors of the burger worked really well together - grilled onions, poached garlic aioli, onion date marmalade, and a lemon-infused truffle arugula? Yes, please! The fries also were slightly battered and very crispy, in a large portion size. I am already looking for an opportunity to come back and try more of the menu - particularly their Taco Trio, with three different types to try (street taco, cauli taco, shiitake tinga) and several people recommended their "mushie" milkshakes -- side note, not an appealing name for a menu item, but I'm still interested in trying it. Location was very clean, love the (fake) plant decor elements, free wifi advertised at table did not connect. Service was polite and friendly, note that food is prepared to order so expect ~15 minute wait time. It's worth it. read more

Great service! Meh food imo. Restaurant is cute and huge with plenty of seating. Came to try because my bf and I are in our vegan/vegetarian food era! The patties at ChagaRoot are made with a variety of mushroom protein, which sounded great because we love mushrooms! However these patties just arent my vibe. :( The texture is slightly hard/rubbery crumbles and I think they seasoned the patties with some liquid smoke or something??, and I personally did not enjoy it. It's not a burger with the patty swapped out for mushrooms/more mushroom taste, which I was sorta expecting. -- Chaga mac burger and tokyo mushito: The burger as a whole wasnt bad! Chaga mac is your basic burger. lots of onions and others that I like. The Tokyo mushito was saucy. You can sub the fries for sweet potato fries, which I did for one of them and they are good! The normal fries tho are really good too. Kinda tasted popcorny to me?? idk but i liked it. Again, I just really didnt like the patty. -- Cookie ashwagandha and cream: super thick. tastes like that cookies and cream icecream cake from your local chain grocery store. The one that has white frosting covering, blue decorative frosting, and rainbow circle sprinkles. yall know what I'm talking about right.. yes.. that one LOL Overall sort of expensive, but fair? This place is extremely extremely cheap and the staff are exceedingly friendly. The food was tasty, but the mushroom got a bit lost in my Greek burger because of all the other strong flavors, and I thought it needed some salt and hot sauce. My friends who had other items didn't seem to have the same problem. My non vegan friend who is hesitant about vegan food liked the Mac burger enough to buy a second to go. I passed by and decided to come in - my friends are vegan, so I am always looking for places. The ambiance was fresh and positive for fast casual. Orders are done, then you're given a number and orders are delivered to your table. The burger itself was very good, but there was a kind of aioli that had a distinct flavor - if you like it, you're going to love it, if not, it is a strong taste. Fries were very good. I ordered a kombucha too, that was excellent, but I was a little ? that they served canned kombucha all the way from Australia, when there are so many great options throughout the west. Decided to run an errand around the neighborhood when Yelp suggested Chaga to eat at. BTW- a great suggestion! When arriving I went ahead and checked out the menu to see if there were any new items on the menu. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. I was toggling between the Greek burger & the oyster tenders because I'm very indecisive about what I will order. We went over the menu and I ended up going the traditional route by ordering the Chaga Mac which plays on Big Mac. Each meal comes with fries and you can upgrade to other sides for an additional charge, so I opted for the chili cheese fries. I grabbed my number and found a cozy area to sit at. The restaurant is super cute and clean which made the wait pleasant. I'm so glad to find a vegan restaurant on my side of town, it's hard to find plant based restaurants without driving to another side of town. The food came in a beautiful presentation & I realized that my eyes were super huge and I now I had the dilemma of how am I eating all of this food... lol. The burger & fries were delicious and I took the tacos home for my mom to try. I'm trying to show my mom that plant based food isn't boring by any measure! She really enjoyed them, btw :). Food, service, and ambiance were great. Visiting Vegas and I wanted to make it a Vegan Vegas weekend. Came across this restaurant and so glad I did. I arrived about 45 mins b4 they closed. Ordered one of the burgers suggested by the cashier and it was amazing. The burger was made of 5 different mushrooms, including two of my favs, Lions Mane and Shitake. By the time I got my food it was 15 mins before closing, but they didn't rush me out at all. I can't speak to the service or the ambiance as I ordered food from them off of DoorDash. What I can say is that their mushroom-based burgers are top notch! At home, I mostly eat plant-based meals. Whenever I'm out and about, I'm an omnivore. But when I can find a GOOD vegan restaurant, I will go out of my way to get something that isn't instant regret. OMG This place!!!so many amazingly healthy and vegan options. I didn't investigate all the detox product but that an option too. They also have mushroom burgers and a breaded lions mane mushroom ( think breaded chicken) sandwich. The Mac and cheese was the best I have ever had. I could tell the skipped the nutritional yeast ( which has questionable benefits). Instead it had turmeric and lots of other amazingly delicious ingredients. I could eat that everyday! The chili cheese fries were pretty good but I over ordered so I finished them later. If you like spicy Mexican-style food, this one's for you. The Sweet Potato fries were about the best I've had. Just perfect! It took a bit for food to arrive, so this might not be a great choice if you're in a hurry. But Service was friendly and helpful. Great indoor environment and some outdoor seating. I love ChagaRoot! I went here with a friend after seeing them on Instagram. I was impressed with how they make their own faux meat with different mushroom varieties. I'm not someone who really loves the faux meats on the market so I was excited to try something new! First off, the staff is so sweet! They recommended us a lot of different dishes and educated us more on the manufacturing of the patties themselves. I was super impressed with the fact they also grow their own mushrooms in the Valley too! Really farm to table. We tried the Tokyo Mushito, Mushroom Shroombrero, loaded fries, and coleslaw. Next time I 100% wanna try their milkshakes! We loved each dish we tried! The portions were great and the flavors were amazing. I know vegan food can get a bad rep for being bland...but this was far from bland. The food is also sugar-free, soy-free, and salt-free. It didn't taste like that, though. I can't emphasize how tasty everything was! Our least favorite dish was the cole slaw but even that was great. The food is very tasty. However, when our order was taking over 20 minutes and I asked about it I was patronized and talked down to. I was told orders always take 15-20 minutes. I was also told online orders took precedence. Which is the opposite of good customer service. If I'm standing in your restaurant I shouldn't have to wait as long. I wasn't apologized to. When a different employee asked how it was I said I thought it was over priced and took too long. He said, in a snarky voice, "you can go to McDonald's down the street". I was so happy to see a new vegan restaurant on this side of town. I have been in 3 times since they've been open and each time I have been impressed. I have ordered the Mexican shroombrero burger, the Greek burger, cauliflower tacos and some yummy sides like sweet potato fries and pan fried edamame. All of these things were delicious but as someone who likes a bit of spice, the Mexican burger and cauliflower tacos are my top picks. Every ingredient is said to be functional meaning it is giving goodness to our bodies in some way. I can say that even after filling myself I never got the ick. It was like my body was happy with what I just put inside it. The space is beautiful and very clean. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The place was bright and clean. I loved the decor. There was lots of green and it seemed modern. We tried: --Chocolate s'more mushy - so THICK! Had chunks throughout. You definitely need the included spoon to really get into this baby. The whipped cream and toasted marshmallows on top were so good. --Spirulina mint mushy - my husband loves mint and chocolate so this really hit the spot for him. --Chaga chili bowl - we meant to get this to-go but couldn't stop eating! Good flavor. Not spicy so suitable for all ages. The tortilla chips were a nice crunchy touch. --Greek mushroom mama .... My husbands comments were: - can actually taste the truffle unlike some places - Feta was delish I noticed the activated charcoal bun! Very interesting looking burger --Street corn - very tasty and creamy. Just salty enough and I liked that there were lime wedges to add some juice if you wanted. I would try this again especially when trying out their tacos! --Chaga Mac burger - I think this is their version of a big "Mac". It was yummy. The carrot bun was interesting. I have never seen anything like that. I was definitely satisfied and nervous I wouldn't have room for my mushy! Both burgers came with what might be my new favorite fries! They have a bit of texture and it holds the salt perfectly. In my opinion better than McDonald's and Burger King. You get a good size serving with your burger!
