I had the most bizarre experience recently with the Chagrin Animal Clinic. I'm wondering if anybody…read moreelse has had any issues with them? I had been going there for 10 years and never had any issues at all. Recently, I brought my dog in to have his nails Dremelled. When they brought him out, I noticed the nails on his hind feet had been clipped, and were sharp and rough. I asked them if they would go back and Dremel them a bit more so they would be smoother. (They said they had Dremelled them.) I was not rude in the slightest. When I went to pay my bill, the receptionist, Ali, had just come from the back and had clearly spoken with the young vet tech who was working with my dog. The receptionist had a huge chip on her shoulder and was beyond rude to me even to the point of flinging my credit card at me. Not only was she extremely rude, but they charged me again to Dremel my dog's nails, because she said it took additional time. I remained matter of fact, had no reaction other than to ask why I had to pay twice, and paid the bill. I was totally flabbergasted at what had just occurred. I didn't understand it. There was nothing I did whatsoever to provoke the nastiness and the attitude, except to ask them to Dremel the dogs nails a bit more so they were smooth. The next thing I know, I received a letter in the mail saying that we were no longer clients of the Chagrin Animal Clinic. I swear to G-d, I'm not exaggerating and I'm not making this up! I'm curious if others have had issues with the staff there. I'm also wondering if anybody out there knows the name or has any information about the corporation that bought the Chagrin Animal Clinic. I would like to let them know what happened. I had originally posted this on NextDoor and posted response I received after exchaging emails with Angela Deputy, the chief human resource officer there. But, due to length, I am not able to post that here. Bottom line, they investigated, but not much was done.

Dr Lubenger and the staff are an awesome team! We have two dogs, a 7 yr old German Shepherd and a…read more 9 yr old. Stizu-Poodle. Our German has had digestive issues for years and he is on the skinny side. Dr Lubenger took the time to sit with us to truly figure out a plan to help our dog. Dr Lubenger narrowed it down to the food we were giving our dog. The Doc suggested a prescription dog food and since that point, he has been great!!! She was the only one that didn't just offer medications to make more money from the diagnosis but actually treat our dog. Well-done Dr Lubenger!!! Dr Lubenger is extremely accessible and compassionate person! The front desk staff, Elliott and Ally are super kind and welcoming. They truly care about your pets and you as a pet owner. Veterinarians and their staff members do not get the credit they deserve! This team is AMAZING! We will not go anywhere else!!!

The care we received was good and thorough, however, I'm not subjecting myself or my animals to someone like her. We went somewhere where my animals are now treated as family! Thus, my 3 stars.

She was upset after coming out of anesthesia and offered her no comfort and did not call us to report her distress. When my husband showed up, they refused to help him retrieve her because they did not know how to handle her. We also told them that she get nervous when you try to touch her head. First thing they did? Try to touch her head. One of my other dogs developed bladder cancer. They offered no comfort care or any suggestions for treatment. They just said to euthanized her. When we decided to euthanize her, they offered no comfort. They left the room after injecting her. and she had a seizure. when I mention it, they said I should have called for them, but I didn't want to leave my dying dog. Fast forward 4 years after switching vets, her brother has the same diagnosis and same staging, and he is thriving on medication. Also, after being a customer for years, when my dog was dehydrated, they refused to treat him. Don't eve trust them with your pet's health. They are incompetent.

I was told to have a seat by the entrance door where customers were dropping off their dogs for the day. A man brought in his 2 Border Collies who immediately turned right and started to snap at our dog who barked back. Nothing was said to the owner of the Collies. He then dropped off some cookies and gifts to the staff and left. Still waiting patiently when a pug and a Doberman arrived and came up to our dog who again barked back. The woman who had the Pug came and apologized and she stuck her hand out close to our dogs nose and she tried to nip at her but did not bite. A few minutes later one of the staff approached me and I was told they would not take her as she showed signs of aggression. Mind you she was in unfamiliar settings with a lot of activity close by- how would most dogs respond? That was it, no evaluation, just an assumption of aggressive behavior. I guess it's all our dog's fault- not the the dogs of the regular clients. Did not even get an I'm sorry from the staff. We had this same dog board there overnight for a week one year ago- no problem. Condescending and rude behavior by the staff and clearly unprofessional. Moral of the story - be like Skippy the nerd and bring cookies! Will not be coming back and would not recommend! Merry Christmas!
