Anyone who has been to animal shelters before will be thoroughly impressed with the Rescue Village facility and operation! First off the facility is conducive to the adoption experience. The friendly staff at the centralized information desk greets you upon entry and briefs you on the various animal areas and other important information about your visit. The floorplan was obviously well thought out prior to the building's construction. Separate holding areas for the cats and dogs and the familiarization rooms join in the middle at the circular information desk and plenty of windows allow staffers to keep an eye on each area/room. The holding areas are very clean, in great physical condition, and well-illuminated. The pooches seem comfortable in their roomy pens which have off-the-floor cots, toys to play with, and climate-controlled ventilation from above. Cats, too, have plenty of room to play and "explore" in their separate pens as well and they play chirping bird and nature sounds to relax the cats. One thing that will absolutely blow you away is the amount of serious community support Rescue Village receives. At every turn, every room, every pen is a plaque commemorating the person or the memory of whom funds were donated. I've never seen so many contributors - and how wonderful especially for such a well-run and worthy cause. All in all, the shelter pups and kitties that find themselves here have it really good especially since many of them were rescued from jackass kill shelters across Ohio. But Rescue Village's success truly comes from the good people who volunteer their time and veterinarian and other services, the foster families, and the great residents of Geauga County who have donated, bequeathed, and given in memorium for their cause. Thank you, Rescue Village, for what you do. You deserve far more than just 5 stars.

Oreo that we got from rescue village

We just got our new baby Oreo from Rescue village a month ago! The staff was excellent with us! They had us bring our other dog up to meet Oreo and to make sure they were a good match. They took time to answer questions for us and gave the dogs lots of time to play! I would Recommend this rescue to anyone looking for a new fur baby!

We would have overlooked her if not for the help of a lovely volunteer who suggested we needed to greet one more cat that she was sure that we would love.

Teddy was completely unreceptive to my own attempts at training. As he grew larger and stronger, I knew that it was time to call in the professional. That is when Eric came into our lives and changed everything! Teddy was impossible to walk and was so forceful with me that I physically couldn't handle him. In addition, he would run full speed towards my young children - his 85 pounds knocking them down and eliciting tears and screams. Eric was absolutely incredible!!! Not only did Teddy immediately respond to him, but so did I. Eric taught Teddy in a patient, direct, and consistent way. He also taught me what to do, so that Teddy and I could work together effectively in his absence. Eric was also great at explaining the dog's nature and instincts, and why it makes sense to approach training in the way that he does. My 4 and 7 year old are obsessed with Teddy and are excited to play with him every single day now that he is gentle. Walking him both on and off leash is a pleasure. The crazy dog that seemed to be too much to handle, is simply a joy now. He still has that spunky, goofy, lovable energy. The difference is that now, he has the ability to listen and respect me. Eric handled Teddy in such a caring and compassionate way. Teddy absolutely LOVES Eric and is always excited to see and work with him. His passion for animals is undeniable!!! It is this fondness that clearly drives his mission to help each family achieve their goals. For anyone considering using Eric Beck for the training needs, I urge you to begin! Your life will change in such a positive way - you will be able to enjoy your furry friend in the manner that you always hoped to! Thank you for everything, Eric!!!

My birthday was coming up and seemed like the perfect opportunity for this idea, so I contacted Feels Like Home Farm to set up a private "snuggle session" for six people. I expected to meet the baby goats, pet some alpacas, and be on our way, but the experience was so much more than that! Marcus (one of the owners) gave our group a full tour of the farm and told us so many interesting things about the animals there. Marcus is a great tour guide and really made the experience for us (and has great travel tips). We all walked away knowing a lot more about the animals on the farm and what taking care of them entails. While I was there, I didn't think about law school once! We all had plenty of opportunities to hold the baby goats, which were even more adorable than I imagined they would be. We also fed the alpacas and met a lot of other animals (adult goats, guard dogs, guard geese, and various cats). If you love animals but cannot have your own farm, or if you are up for a unique experience in the Cleveland area, I highly suggest booking a tour and snuggle session at Feels Like Home Farms! I'm a huge adventure junkie and....this goat yoga party was one of my favorite adventures to date....This farm is literally a utopia... Feels Like Home Farm is AMAZING for: a) Private Parties - Reasonably priced and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN! Also so unique - you're never going to have another party like this! b) Goat Yoga Events - they run community yoga classes on a somewhat-regular basis throughout the year (schedule is on the farm's website!) and they're a great way to get out and try something new with friends. Their instructor, Deanna Black, is an excellent teacher and make the class very unique. I've been doing yoga for years and I'm kind-of a yoga snob....and I freaking love Deanna. Great way to support a local farm! If I could give Alissa (and her family), Deanna, the farm, the goats, the class, and the entire experience 1,000,000,000 stars, I would. I'll call out a couple things, although the list of positives is far too long to write: 1) The farm: Is STUNNING. LOTS of land and very peaceful. They have ~50 goats, primarily 4 different breeds. All are happy, healthy, ADORABLE, and super friendly. They also have 2 awesome dogs, a CUTE LITTLE PIG named Dottie (omg!), and happy ducks waddling around. Their neighbors let us meet their CRAZY-COOL mini donkeys, cows, and pigs! I honestly never wanted to leave. Alissa and her husband took us on a tour of the farm and taught us all about their animals!! It was AWESOME! 2) The people: Alissa, her husband, and her daughters were unbelievably passionate about what they do at the farm, loving towards their animals, and so excited to share their farm with us. Alissa was INCREDIBLY responsive to all of my requests, and personalized literally EVERY little thing about the party. She was very creative, and thought of ideas I NEVER would have (like bringing in a local food truck!). I interact with a lot of business owners through Yelp, and Alissa has been by far the most fun and passionate one yet. 3) The Yoga: If you want a good workout, Deanna's class is great. She is also EXCELLENT at leading guided meditations. I was so relaxed and present by the end of class. Deanna is also AWESOME at incorporating acro-yoga into her classes. We did some CRAZY moves I've never done before (see my pictures!) 4) Convenient location - The farm is only about 25 - 30 minutes from Ohio City and an easy drive. We had no issues with parking at all. HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for making this such an unbelievably unique experience that none of us will forget!
