I was turned away as a patient because the office's credit card machine was "down" and I didn't have enough cash to cover my $50 copay. I asked if they could simply bill me, and they refused. What's especially frustrating is that I was there in December and was told the exact same thing--that the credit card machine was "down." Fortunately, I happened to have cash with me that day. Are patients really expected to carry enough cash for their copays every time they have an appointment? In today's world, many people don't carry cash at all. If your payment system is unavailable, there should be a reasonable backup plan, such as billing established patients or accepting another form of payment. Being turned away over a $50 copay because of an ongoing issue with the office's payment system was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. read more

I came here at exactly 11:15 PM and was turned away by a nurse. All I wanted to do was take a Covid test for work tomorrow. She basically turned me down and told me that they are done for the night meanwhile they close at midnight. The line is super long and the nurses are very very slow just an FYI. The M.A came in and asked my name after I told her my name and date of birth she asked me if I was a completely different person, she was not listening to me when I was stating my symptoms and she tried to put down a symptom i didn't even say i was suffering from, she then she puts gloves on and takes a swab out to stick up my nose without even tell my why so I asked what the test was testing for which she then gave me a nasty attitude. I gave her one right back and she told me I am rude. I AM RUDE? I simply asked what the test was for and she gave me an attitude and what does she think I wasn't going to give one back? She then proceeded to go back and forth with me stating that I am rude. I told her how she didn't even know my ne when she came in and gave me the attitude. This place is a joke. The entire staff from the start is welcoming , friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They are kind and helpful to all who enter. It's truly good to know that there are caring people still in this unkind world. I personally witnessed genuine kindness in helping a senior citizen couple who clearly needed some extra help getting in and filling out information, the manager is genuinely caring and compassionate to all who entered during my visit and it shows thru her staff also. I was seen a timely manner, PA was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Place is immaculate. I have been there a couple of times, always a quick, thorough, excellent experience. Went in for a Rapid Covid test today, as I was waiting for the results in the waiting room, one of the girls came out to ask me if I needed. Print out. I said yes. She informed me that the system was down so it would be a few minutes. I said ok no problem, then she turned and yelled back at me as she was bringing another patient into a room"you're negative by the way"! Waiting room had several people waiting! To the staff that was so helpful to my dearest friend who was not feeling well at all I appreciate so much you attentiveness to his illnesses. The front desk staff here, esp MA Ashley who was such a gem, was welcoming and quick to see my friend. They did blood work & urinalysis and we were told we would get results rather fast. This place has a serene atmosphere, a flat screen TV, fun health related freebies, magazines & an all around warm environment. We went on a Sunday and there was no wait at all. The nastiest most abusive people I ever came across in my life ! I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I'm calling upper management because the people there were abusive; slamming the door on peoples faces, literally on their noses when people were asking about their care. We were treated like less than human beings. I was there because I felt dizzy and nauseous and like I was going to pass out. I told the loser at the front door and like he was king of the bouncers, he goes well that's not my problem. Well let me ask you something I think you're working the wrong job? maybe you should be at the sound factory?. When somebody tells you they don't feel well and you're going to pass out and you're at an urgent care it very well should be your problem. Needless to say, him and his coworker Ursula, told me they won't see me tonight and they sent me home. I am a nurse. I would never turn away somebody who says they don't feel well. I've never seen such disgusting treatment and care like this in my entire life. I called the police station, I'm calling the Better Business Bureau and whoever else needs to be called because this is not an urgent care this is disgusting absolutely completely disgusting. Avoid this place at all costs! It is always empty for a reason. Not only my child was misdiagnosed, prescription prescribed was for the wrong dosage I've also ended up with a lab fee of $375 (yes everything went into deductible). We all have to pay the deductible, but not when there are extra made-up charges on it. I'm not sure what other extra services were requested but the test itself was only $55.15 (based on EOB the rest is categorized as "Medical/professional services"). What kind of medical services were performed by the lab is unknown? Lab says they did what the doctor prescribed, the doctor says contact insurance, insurance says to contact the lab for details. Looks like Chai Urgent Care is unable to diagnose, prescribe or bill properly. Stay away! read more

Their motto is "Urgent Care at its Best" but tonight's experience would make "Urgent Care at its Worst" a more accurate motto. I've only written 1 other negative review ever and I don't like to point out the negatives, but after the deplorable service my sick daughter received tonight, I feel compelled to share our experience so others can avoid such poor quality service. Upon calling to inquire about covid testing, the person who answered the phone was pleasant and professional. The place itself was immaculate and it was clear it was consistently sanitized. However, after walking in and not being greeted by two people in the reception area, things start to go downhill. After standing there a few minutes, I was finally just told to check in there. No hello, how are you or welcome, just a rude point of the finger to the machine for check in. Then, as we waited in the empty waiting room. One of the nurses returned to the reception area, took off her mask, checked herself out in the mirror and then just looked at us. When my daughter was finally called in by the unfriendly nurse more interested in checking out herself than her patients, she didn't even hold the door open for my daughter as she put us in a room the size of a closet. She didn't ask her why she was there, how she was feeling or anything of that compassionate nature. After swabbing her, she was like you'll get the results in 10 minutes now go wait outside. She then walked into the waiting area with the paper. No feel better, nothing. I was like doesn't she get to see a doctor??? Another nurse who seemed to be the only nice, professional one there explained after the fact that in order to see a doctor, that would have had to been an additional thing typed into check in. This all should have been explained when I walked in instead of just pointing to a machine. So my sick daughter was only checked for covid and not even seen by a doctor or checked for the flu, strep, etc. I was absolutely shocked and livid that they would treat sick patients, minors none the less, in such a cold hearted manner. Since I didn't think my words would matter to them, I asked for the manager's details because as a former law firm manager, I know I would definitely want to be made aware if the staff that represented my firm wasn't behaving as expected. Shame on you Chai Care staff who wear frontline heroes sweatshirts but treat the patients like dirt. I don't even know if the contact info they gave me for the manager is legit but either way, I really hope they get some sensitivity and professionalism training before their lack of care leads to a potential injury or worse. read more

"Security guard" outside is a useless piece of shit. I now have black and blue on my arm from this guy. The woman working also refused to give me this guy's name and they called the police on me after I left. This guy tried to belittle me and wouldn't let me speak after i Asked if he was going to do what he promised since he had me sign the wrong list and waite 2 hours before having me sign the correct list and he refused to let the workers know he had me sign the wrong list and i had already been waiting 2 hours. He would not justify the situation at all, was extremely rude with me and got physical when I tried to tell the workers inside the door i was given wrong list and already been waited 2 hours he would not do the right thing at all! I now have 2 black and blue bruises on my arm and he slammed the door on my hand and yelled in my face multiple times. Qould not let me speak kept spesking over me so when i got louf back trying to get my point across he said i will not be seen.. he than he told me to go the side to waite till hes ready to talk to me,, i did than 30 min later i asked can we talk now he said no legally i cannot. Leave or cops will be called so he had me waiste so much time out of day when I went to this urgent care for bad back could hardly stand no humanity this employee is a disgrace. He says their is no way he made a mistakei must of said I was their for covid when i did not. Than another woman said to him "you did not ask me what list to sign either" ... when before that he said he would tell them inside I originally signed wrong list and when i realized he never went back in and i asked him is he going to do it is when he would spesk over me tban when i raise my voice so i can speak he gets arrogant & tells me to leave and just showed 0 respect!!!!! read more

I've been here twice, both times the service was prompt and professional. The MA at the desk is always very friendly and the check in is typically very quick; I've visited once in the afternoon and once after 10PM. I think it's great that they're open so late, all urgent cares should be open into the later hours! Will definitely continue to use them, they send over electronic prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice typically immediately after your visit. The doctors and PA's are also thorough and educated. Had a bad cold and sore throat. Tested negative for Covid and Flu. When I asked for the form for work to be filled out hey told me the maximum time they can give me was two days off from work as it was just a cold. Never had any Doctor try to rush me back to work. Followed up with my primary care doctor I have BRONCHITIS and now have the antibiotic and time off that I needed, First and last visit here never felt so put off by a doctor or urgent care. read more

The two girls behind the desk were rude and unprofessional. Upon arrival, standing at the reception we were not acknowledged, I had to prompt the girl for her to finally acknowledged us with a nasty attitude. When I called to double check they took my insurance, the receptionist did not know. Even after sending my insurance through email, (because they had to run it to make sure) I was not given a 100% answer. I was taken right in and after waiting about 15 minutes someone came in to check my blood pressure, mind you, I'm there because I can't breathe and I have a cough. A few questions later and blood pressure taken, she swabbed my nose. I had to ask why and got a short answer and she left. Not taking my temperature? Not even checking my oxygen level?? When the dr came in, he checked my lungs looked down my throat and sent me off with pills and cough medication. Again, not looking in my ears, nose? Not asking if I'm a smoker or if I'm on any medication??? I was told the results will be emailed to me, which they were but I had to sign into a portal-only thing was, they had my phone number wrong, so I couldn't. I sent them an email to have the doctor call me and to fix my phone number but I didn't get either. I had to call and get my results. I also had to ask what a negative respiratory was because that's was I was told by the receptionist-I guess. Again, no dr got on the phone or called. Amazing facility! The Doctor the especially was very present and very caring to our situation. Kept in touch for making sure everything was okay. My boyfriends son was sick with a fever for 5 days that never went under 99.2. It kept climbing; which he also had a deep cough. All test were done here as well as a X-ray. Went in about 9:30pm on a Sunday, I had sliced a nice sized gash in my leg. Was greeted by a very cute Nurse named Ashley received 4 stitches by a very experienced doctor the whole thing was smooth and flawless and for the most part painless. By far the worst urgent care I ever went to. Rapid Covid test comes back negative, so when ask to see doctor was told doctor left they didn't realize. Then I get my results which aren't very clear via text and called at 8am (when they "open") it is now 9 am and still waiting for someone to assure my results. Will never be back! read more

Took a trip there Sunday evening because they are open late and 7 days a week. Not a bad place, they have parking and seems to be clean. But our wait time was over half an hour with no other patients in the facility. They couldn't take any x-rays because the tech was not in. The opinion given for our issue was just typical and generic that we already figured out on our own. The only thing that we were able to get was a prescription for an anti inflammatory which took them over two hours to call in to our local cvs. It was better than going to the er but i would try some place else first. read more

Come to Chai if you want to waste your day. I went with 2 other people about an hour and a half after it opened. We had to wait 6 hours in our car waiting for a covid test, with absolutely no updates or directions from the fat, sloppy staff. They refused to check where we were on the list because "if we check it for you, then we have to do it for everyone," and they were too lazy to simply look at a clipboard and tell us our place in line and an estimated waiting time. They also did not actually take the time and explain to people what they had to do to check in, instead just giving short snappy responses to questions and handing them a clipboard to write their name on. The front door was locked and a staff person would come out once every once in a while to call someone in. Once inside, we saw exactly how lazy the staff actually was, as there were about 15 minute waiting periods after swabbing us where the staff was quite literally sitting around doing nothing, while the patients waited outside the clinic in the cold. There is no reason why the staff couldn't have tested us, then made us go wait outside and then call other patients in to test, and then give us our results. It was extremely ineffective and inefficient and I realized that is why we had to wait 6 hours to get tested. The staff was not knowledgeable about insurance and how much the covid testing would cost, which is literally their job to know. It was so ridiculous that they didn't know how much it costed, and I actually think they were just couldn't be bothered to look it up in the system. They were overall very rude and did not care about the patients at all based on how they spoke to people. Absolutely god awful service and lack of sympathy and compassion for others. I saw other people struggling to check in on the machines, because the staff gave almost no directions or guidance even when they could clearly see people struggling. Some people should not go into healthcare and the people who work here prove that. Do not go here if you actually need to get something done. read more

The two stars this place gets is for the manager. Other than that it was a fairly negative experience. Went there few days ago for a fever a cough. Right away they tell me that they need a major credit card before they even ask me what my symptoms are. Ok, fine, no problem. The medical assistant was as friendly as a cactus. She messed up my EKG, PA had to come in and show her what to do. After, she gathered her wires and computer and said" go ahead, take the stickers off" to me. Sure because I remember all the places where she put them. Then she did a flu test, very uncomfortable procedure twice as she dropped the first one on the floor. No apologies. PA listened to my lungs. THATS IT. Did not check my ears, my throat, glands or abdomen. No blood test. Nothing. His solution to my issue was to take Musinex, over the counter. Had to call them in there days to get my test results, even though they said they will call me in 24 hours. But they did call me to ask me if I was going to recommend them to my friends and family. This is an update to my lab results. I was being lied to by the staff. I kept calling for my results and I was told I would get a call back. But I never got a call. I was told it was normal to wait 21 days for results. The office manager at Chai is the only person that should keep her job bc she is the one that found out my lab specimens were destroyed on the way to the lab. Not a person at Chai ,except for the office manager, took the time out to find out what happened. I usually go to northwell on hylan . I should have just gone there. Well now I am in the process of writing letters to the health dept.,joint commission, and better business bureau. I am also writing to Medicare . If Chai bills Medicare for this claim they are committing fraud bc they never tested the specimen. read more
