To make it worse, the Manager lied and said only the extra small costume was on sale which it clearly wasn't. The price was not the same on the website as in the store period. She didn't validate anything I said even when I showed her clearly on my phone. I've spent a lot of money in that store over the years and should have been treated like a valued customer. It was false advertising. Manager should take a customer service course.

I came in looking to rent a helium tank. All they had were the big tanks for $80/day. A big tank is totally not what I needed, way to big in fact. The guy helping me suggested one of the disposable helium tanks... but those are crap. The balloons last for like 2 hrs before they start floating down to the ground. 3 if you're lucky. Anyway, this is where the staff member launched into an explanation about what makes your balloons last a really long time. He took me over to their helium tank and proceeded to show me the extra latex coating they use to coat every balloon (which apparently helps the balloon stay afloat for like 3-5 days). I was thankful for the extra info, and for the fact that he didn't try and talk me into renting the tank anyway. He did apologize for not having what I needed and suggested maybe trying Praxair for my own tank if I were going to use it often. Anyway, customer service like that can be hard to find. You'll see me checking out Canuck again sometime for other party things!

When entering the store it was chaotic. Items on the floor, items in the aisles and just really dirty/messy. Since I was in a rush, I wanted to make sure to shop quick. I found some wrapping paper and proceeded to the cashier to pay. The cashier wasn't friendly. He just looked at me and advised me that since I was spending under $10 that the items were full price. The 50% off is only for people spending $10 or more. Seems very miss leading since they have a huge sign in front of the store stating closing and everything 50% off. I wasn't looking to argue and stated, this was all I needed and that was fine since the store was closing anyway and if me paying full price supports them, that's ok. He just sneered at me and wrung me in. I won't be returning and good thing this store is closing because it is very over priced especially being next door to Dollorama.

Word gets around when there is a good find to be shared in the Mom Hood. Finally I sent husband to check it out over the summer in search of a treasure hunt type game since he works in the NE. He found the game and raved about how cool the store was. Oddly enough it took me several months before I actually ventured into this place on my own. It was getting close to Halloween and we were scouting our costumes. As soon as I walked into this place I was impressed. After having already been to Walmart to look at and price out a specific kids costume ($35) I discovered the exact same costume at Party City for $23 (reg price). Holy Cow! So ecstatic to find a place that can out price Walmart. They have so many neat things in this store and a huge holiday (Halloween) display. I noticed some (what I would call higher end/Martha Stewart type/good quality) decorations for a very good price. I returned to this place 3-4 times over the course of 4 weeks checking for a costume for myself (consistently out of stock) and each time exploring a new section of the store in more detail. This place offers a ton of party stuff for kids of all ages. Being a mom with young kidlets I especially love the kids area with all kinds of ideas (including bulk candy) for loot bags & birthday parties. Since I am hosting my son's birthday party the beginning of November I definitely plan on returning to pick up a few things...and of course I will have to venture back around Christmas to see what kind of goodies they have!
