The ride is about 30 minutes but went by quickly - we were given two blankets each one to sit on to stay warm and a second to cover us up. You can for easily 4 adults across in a row (maybe 6 rows?) - very charming and peaceful ride into the snowy woods! When we returned we had hot coffee and hot chocolates waiting for us! Definitely a must for any families or couples!

Came here for a 2 hour trail ride with my family. It was one of my favorite activities while…read morevisiting Canada for the holiday. We were a party of 4 and went with another group of two. They assigned us to our horses and gave us instructions on how to direct our horses and hold the reigns. I'm a first time horse rider and was nervous, but once we started I got more comfortable and enjoyed it! The trail was a little muddy and goes up and down hills but it's amazing to see what these horses can do. The views were breathtaking and the weather was perfect. Chloe, our leader on the ride, was great. I appreciated that she made sure to have us stop for photos. I would definitely come back. Your butt might be sore afterwards :)

When I pulled up and saw the circular hall, it all became clear! Spacious and well-kept, the hall is in good shape and looks to be home to a hub of different activities, like the Rhythm Cafe-live drumming and music the last Friday of every month. I like the circular setup of this hall better than your typical rectangular halls. It made for a good view of the stage from almost any angle. Acoustics for the show were clear, although I'm not sure if the hall came with a sound system or not. At any rate, it's a nice little spot for community events down in Inglewood.

I think Festival Hall is a remarkable venue, because it seems both so out of place and so perfect for the neighbourhood at the same time. The building is by no means extravagant - a brick cube that could very well be a small apartment. You'll almost pay no attention to it, wondering if you've gone the wrong direction until you get close enough to read the sign on the front wall. It blends into its surroundings without so much as a parking lot to indicate there's a concert venue in the area. Inside, the 200ish seat space is comfortable and intimate. The performance area is a large cube room with some brilliantly subtle touches that prevent it from sounding like a small gymnasium. Large soft curtains at the back to absorb sound, angled walls, ceiling and attractive roof trusses break up sound and reduce echo and keep you focused on the performance. The space works well for unamplified performances - I was most recently wowed by Cowtown Opera's ability to fill the space using nothing more than vocals and a single piano. I've also seen several roots / blues acts here and the space sounds excellent at the higher volumes of drum kits and electric guitars. Another cool feature is the versatility of the space. Without fixed seating, they are free to setup the room to accommodate the needs of any performer. With a full-house the foyer can get pretty packed at intermission and I quickly find myself seeking some fresh air. You can order any kind of beer as long as it's Big Rock, which is a-ok by me! Drinks are also permitted in the performance hall which is a nice touch.

Inside there's a number of theatres and theatre companies -Alberta Theatre Projects, Theatre Calgary, One Yellow Rabbit, and the Engineered Air Theatre. Plus the Calgary Philharmonic plays in the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Many awesome concerts play at the Jack Singer, too - the acoustics are are amazing! There's also a ticketmaster in the centre court for all your entertainment needs!

It is a 6 level complex downtown so it is near the train terminals and after 6 pm there is very cheap parking underground and free parking on the streets. There are 4 theatres at the EPCOR Center and one hall. EC provides theatre entertainment as well as music entertainment from all around the world. I watched an Argentinean guitar quartet there a half a year ago and although we were a little late we managed to be accompanied directly to our seats by a very pleasant usher. The concert hall is enormous, but there are various entrances that can take you very close to where you need to sit. The concert that night was glorious, this is fine classical guitar picking, that is very erratic and elaborate and I swear I could feel and hear every guitar string being plucked. The acoustics there at EC are fantastic and the seating is super comfortable. The roster of entertainment is so diversified at the EPCOR, in fact in January Chef Anthony Bourdain has been sold out since October. You may recall this guy, he travels all around the world eating anything that is exotic, and I believe the last time I saw him on television was seeing him eating cow testicles in Thailand. So expect incredible variety and high quality entertainment at the EC.

Back in the spring I did a painting class here where they gave us a piece of plywood board and a stencil that said spring has sprung and we got to paint it and decorate it with anything- it was great! Then just recently Pinnovate celebrated their first birthday party. At their birthday their was complimentary goodies from cobs bakery, complimentary ice cream or gelato from Fiasco gelato, pizza from coco brooks and coffee from rosso coffee roasters. They also were making balloon animals. We could visit and tour the store and paint complimentary cards with water colors. It was great!

I used to come once a year or so for a corporate town hall, but my current company holds a speaker series here pretty much once a month. Getting to the Metropolitan Centre is easy by foot - there's an entrance on the +15 level and ground level to outside. Parking is like any other parking downtown, so we won't dwell on that. There are multiple sizes of rooms, from a boardroom table of 12 very comfortable chairs with an awesome view of downtown, to rooms that seat 500+. In terms of catering, I've only ever had the sandwiches, but they're really good and the catering staff can tell you exactly what's in them, which impresses the heck out of me considering some of the service you get nowadays. And the cookies are legendary. Let's leave it at that. The staff is also very accommodating - they have no issues pulling in extra chairs if you exceed what you've got available, and once I had opted to stand at the back instead of taking up a chair and they brought one just for me.
