Don't worry, you won't be "That Person", because there's always someone else. The bathrooms are ok after a lot of drinks. They are not the best, but they work... The beer is fairly priced and the locals are very friendly and hospitable. We spent the morning with the local women's Hurling Team... Great people who needed to blow off some steam after a hard game. I look forward to going back and spending some time with some great people.

The World's End is a very authentic Irish Pub, in the very authentic Irish town of Kilkenny, with a cast of VERY colorful regulars. Think Cheers, but SOAKED in at least 10x more alcohol. The front entrance has a little diner feel to it, but all the action happens in the back bar through another set of doors. We walked in at 3 in the afternoon with full intentions of 1 drink and a quick bite...but that all changed when the bartender and locals heard our accent. Clearly not Irish. Before long, everybody was chatting us up, asking where we're from, our plans in Ireland, offering us drinks, pouring us drinks, offering us more drinks. I'm pretty sure we're now Facebook friends with a few of them. One of the locals, fascinated that we're from California, stuffed a bunch of change in the jukebox and selected every song about or with the word California in it. We stayed for at least two hours, half of it listening to the likes of California Girls, Hotel California, California Love, & It Never Rains in Southern California. Good times.

We enter and sit at the bar. They have booze, but only a few kinds. No problem. They have beer, the expected one's. All good. It's early in the evening, the crowds are thin, the music is good, we have a drink, we are happy. If only we had time for more than one drink. This is a dive bar. Just do it.

Right enough no one stopped me entering. Inside the bar is the very embodiment of cool; from the second I walked in, all I could say was "Cool"... I very much doubt if I was very cool about it but I'm ok with that (which I think possibly makes me cool again, but only briefly). The seats are made of oil barrels, there's half a car swinging from the ceiling, there's sawdust on the floor...really. Behind the bar they even have a couple of half decent beers which was pretty much all the icing that this cake needed. I am a fan, I shall be back!

It's been around forever, real old school, my type of pub. Parts of it are literally falling apart lol! It's one of these pubs that still has a hardware store on the premises. Yes, you ring a doorbell to this place and the owner, Shay asks you a few questions, like how many are in your party and do you know anyone inside the bar. I was let in on a Friday night and had no idea what to expect. The place was dark inside and small. There were pool tables and seats all around the side and a few high tops at the bar and a booth area. Much of those seats were reserved where the bar area is. I was able to snag a seat at this busy bar. No food here. Just drinks. Order what's local. I had a local ale and a Guinness (of course), and enjoyed the company here. I met a bunch of locals and since this place is so casual and laidback, it was a fun time. Hacienda Bar is known as a secret bar in Dublin yet all the celebrities find out about it. Shay has photos of all the famous peeps that have set foot here and it's been known that Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and her dancers came here after the Eras Tour and danced the night away. If you find yourself in Dublin, find Hacienda Bar and have yourself a beer or two and hang with the locals.

The decor is a mish mash of traditional Irish pub stuff (sign posts and car reg plates) to Rock Bar (Thin Lizzy posters) to Dive Bar (darkly lit with fairy lights). They had a mixed selection of mainstream and micro brewery beer. No craft cider though. But they have toasties! The look and smell delicious. Full after an earlier meal, we didn't order any in this occasion. But next time... Staff were great, served with a welcoming smile. There was plenty of banter between one batman and the regulars. I'll definitely be back, if only for the funny graffiti in the ladies.
