The panini was by far the best panini I've ever had in my life. So unexpected, but I stand by my claim and I will be thinking about the crunchy ciabatta bread and fresh ingredients for a LONG time. The sausage and bread appetizer was also marvelous. When it came out and I saw that we get to slice it with the fun little machine, I was ecstatic. We had such a good time making little meat slices and they tasted delicious. The beers were also the best beers that I had in my entire Eurotrip (10 days) and the wheat beer is up there with my favorite beers of all time. After we finished eating, we played darts for a while and had such an amazing time. As weird as it sounds, my evening at Avocado Bar was PROBABLY the highlight of my short little Grindelwald trip. It is massive and can feed 3 to 4. 2) The toppings mix will be unusual to Americans, so we took basic margherita pizza and added salami and mushrooms. Salami just like pepperoni. I think there was maybe 3 people running the entire restaurant. Clearly they want you to enjoy your meal and they are in no rush to flip tables. In this town there are several tourist trap restaurants, but this is not one of them.

The people, views and food were lovely. Hubby had their vegetarian pizza, stepson's choice was the cheeseburger meal which was made with locally sourced beef. As for me, I was feigning for rice so I opted for their satay (beef and chicken) appetizer which came with rice. Yes, please. My stepson also tried their beer which he enjoyed. The utensils were presented in such pretty souvenir packets - nice touch! Prices were reasonable for Switzerland standards. Our waiter (who was also the bartender) was awesome. He was incredibly pleasant and friendly. I can tell people come back there and he's part of the reason why. Fun fact I learned from Pokémon Go: the cable car at this restaurant is the original from an 007 movie, In Her Majesty's Secret Service. How's that for cool stuff?
