However, the owner of this frame shop has a pretty ingenious idea for her business. The shop is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However, if you want to go on another day all you have to do is call and leave a message and she's more than happy to meet you at the shop any day of the week. I'm a Jazz Fest poster junkie. I buy them and have them shipped to me. It takes me a little while to actually DO anything with them, but my intention is for someone to tell me which mat looks cool next to the masterpiece that a New Orleans artist has created and then put that awesomeness in a frame for me to hang on my wall. I've always gone to It's Framed and have never been disappointed. The owner has an eye for matting and framing. Don't be discouraged if you call and she's not open. Just leave a message. She calls back promptly and is very accommodating about meeting you at your convience.

The only reason why I'm giving this four stars is it's EXPENSIVE. I was a bit wary that this store only had two dollar signs on yelp considering it is located on Magazine Street, but I decided to give it a try. Yup, it is very expensive. I have not found a way to edit how many dollar signs yelp gives to an establishment, which makes me think that the store itself is in charge of its price point on yelp. This place deserves four or five dollar signs, definitely NOT two!! Work is amazing, so you will have to decide if it is worth it for yourself.

They are kind, patient (they need it with me -- I always want to look at all my options!), professional, accommodating, and VERY reasonably priced. I can't say enough nice things about them. I've gotten about 10 things framed there, and everything, from my Ladies' Choice posters (which is a downright STEAL) to my most prized painting, has turned out perfectly. It was supposed to…read morebe a Christmas ornament but since Antoine enjoys destroying all things fragile, I figured I'd better get it placed in a shadow box then up on the wall, away from his active paws & jaws. I picked Frame City & Art Gallery at random because it was near my house. But what a delightful surprise! I'm really bad at colors, so Mr. Saito kindly suggested some frames & backgrounds that would make the shell art pop. He also gave me advice on where to buy natto, which is my favorite Japanese breakfast food! About 2 weeks later, Mrs. Saito cheerfully presented me with the finished product which is pictured below.
